    I think this is a very unique event and not knowing the number of reps for an exercise does really change how you approach it, but I do find they are gassing up the "unkown" element of this event a lot considering there are really only 2 exercises you can't infer from the equipment and set up.

    • @VirginiaGeorge
      @VirginiaGeorge 5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Jayc Bonfils there are two sides to it - the Games, and what goes on in gyms around the world on a daily basis. I can say why CrossFit as a workout modality is appealing. For one thing, classes are an hour long. You get an intense workout in that you don’t have to program in less than an hour. For busy people, this is appealing.
      Secondly, and most importantly, most gyms are very accepting of people in all walks of life. You’ll have a photographer and a financial planner and an at home parent working out side by side, encouraging each other and celebrating one another’s accomplishments. I started CrossFit at 5’7” and 260 lbs and never once did I feel judged for my (lack of) fitness.
      Thirdly, it makes lifting heavy things attainable. It’s almost like having a personal trainer, at least in my gym. We were doing snatches last week and I’m relatively new to Olympic lifts, and the coach was right there, watching my movement, and giving me tips on correcting it but never pushing me to go too heavy.
      As for the Games, the entire event is a spectacle. We like watching people suffer, and it’s mind blowing to see what the human body is capable of. As long as they steer away from the Murph disaster of 2015.
      This is my opinion, of course, but I think it’s representative of what you’ll hear a lot of people say.

      @nattybynature1262 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@VirginiaGeorge thank you for your personal insight. I can get that and you should be very proud of your fitness achievements ☺️
      What I was more curious about though is the business side of things. Many fitness trends and fads have come and gone with most only ever taking off in the States. I wonder why CrossFit has prevailed and penetrated the industry as much as it has. I live in Kenya and there are more and more CrossFit gyms emerging each year.

      @@nattybynature1262 As far as what I've seen from a few Documentaries and talks with the founder of Crossfit, it was branded early on with patents and copyrights placed around its names and trademarks. The daily administration of the gyms with WorkOuts of the Day (WODs), and terminology was spelled out and branded in a focused way also. All of these things where/are fiercely defended and/or enforced aggressively. Crossfit has aggressive Attorneys and Media Relations that confronts issues in the public sphere. Not to draw a comparison, but there are many parallels between how new current religions like Scientology where set up and defended (research it, and you'll see the parallels) and how Crossfit was founded. The people who are attracted to it as a workout modality are Evangelical about it due to the overwhelming sense of accomplishment you get from completing the workouts. Likewise, Crossfit attracts many religious Evangelicals who gave it footholds into established communities that have the income streams to back the new sport. The founder committed to very shrewd business practices, coupled with the competitions/events and the wingspan of individual gyms.

      Also to keep everyone fair, if you have different trainers it means you could possibly have an assisted heel or certain padding that could give you an advantage.

      The father is not in front of her he is behind her. Just taller and large able to look ahead by experience. Also the daughter is safe only sometimes and most where even if her fathers starves to death she is not prey.

    i've got a great idea fitfink out the box train you have to do a dumbell curl while translating what the korean coach is saying to you while doing a cross word then on the next section spread toast while doing one leg squats using telepathy to convey what back to the spanish coach what your doing using maths not seen crossfit before lol

      i'm thinking like the kypton factor but with telepathy and telekinesis with weights parkour ( we invented that years ago) endurance jedi work and Zues jumps years later that will be someone will think of it

    • @eraproductions9923
      @eraproductions9923 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      you have to use the telekinesis at the last leg to try and pull back the one in front from crossing the finish line
