Ah the joys of Guarulhos airport, looking forward to returning next year.

Cheaper Chinese EVs with a decent sized battery and local production, just a matter of time. Solar and Hydro power leading the way where EVs are a logical follow up.

So, the name of the Brazilian president is Lula da Silva. I'm surprised you didn't know his name. He would have to be one of the most famous politicians in the world.
One thing you did not mention is that Ford and some German companies are leaving Brazil after having had large manufacturing operations there for many decades. These companies are making a massive mistake!
Also making a massive mistake is Tesla which should already in Brazil to compete. My guess it is already too late I think that Tesla is going to regret wasting time in countries such as Australia which require non standard models and are a blind alley rather than concentrating on the Brazilian market. I seem to remember that the Brazilian government and in particular the Lula administration tried to interest Tesla in about 2020.
I'm guessing now but I believe that Brazil is the fastest growing EV market in the world. But also Brazil is a Mercosul country which makes its market area massive. In addition Brazil is a way for US companies to enter the African market. People need to remember that Africa is the continent with the fastest growing economy. Why Ford is leaving and why Tesla is not in Brazil cannot be understood.
