I was on a flight to Spokane, WA a few years ago and struck up a conversation with a polite young man seated with me. He said he played in a band and had just toured Europe. Later, while waiting at baggage claim I asked him if he had website or business card? He politely wrote something on a piece of paper and handed it me. I read it later on the shuttle bus.
"Myles Kennedy, Alterbridge".
Had never heard of them.......
Never realized that someone so talented and popular could be so humble and down to earth to this 70 year old man who didn't have a clue.
I do now......so rock on Myles and don't ever change your ways.
I'm from Spokane and I can tell you Myles is extremely humble. I worked many venues he played before making it big. He deserves every bit of his success.
I was listening to this as I was reading your post , not sure why but I got all choked up , here comes a few tears so God Bless you all Myles for just being him and Gary for sharing that story . Not sure what make me cry , so I guess to hear a heart warning story and all the craziness in this world right now. IDK just thought I’d share y’all have a merry Christmas!!

as can Haley harmonise with Myles, its not all one way.
Harmonizing lower with someone singing above your register is easy if you have a good ear for harmonies. I could've pulled something out of my sleeve singing with her too since lower harmonies are my specialty 😊 they are both, or all 3 of them, incredibly talented musicians
I disagree. He high notes were out of his range and he struggled to get up there and match her but his “normal range” sounded nice.... just my opinion....
Myles could easily hit those high notes in his head voice... but he had to resort to a falsetto to harmonize. That's why it seems stretched :)
@@talonpilotI feel like you might not be that familiar with Kennedy's capabilities. Those notes are all comfortably in his range. Kennedy has almost 5 full octaves. There are very few male vocalists in the industry who can go higher and to my knowledge, noone who sounds as good doing it. There's a reason he was asked to fill in for Axl at the GNR Hall of fame and why he sings with Slash now and why members of Led Zeppelin also wanted him to sing with them.
This song captures perfectly the feeling of nostalgia for me, that ache in your heart for a place that no longer exist. For me, 1982 Delta Colorado, Friday night, off work from Terrell's Restaurant, cruising Main Street, house parties later, I was 19, young and free and i didn't even know it. Memories lost and forgotten like tears in the rain...

Getting old sucks having those memories is the only thing that gives you some pleasure of making it this far , while all along dealing with life's issues we all get to experience , ( I'm 61)
I've NEVER said this and I love the stones...but this is quite possibly the best version I have ever heard.

Sheryl was good friends w/ Slash's wife at the time, Perla Hudson. Sheryl recommended Haley to Perla who was impressed enough to show Haley to Slash, next thing we know, she's on stage singing w/ Slash and Myles :)

Real music. Real musicians. Feelings. What I would give to have a fraction of the talent that any one of these three have. I could listen to this over and over again and the magic doesn't ever end. Great job. Also if you ever have the chance to see Slash and Myles Kennedy play together live you have to go. Most of the musicians from when I was a child are done touring, or have passed away. Getting to see Slash live 2 years ago was a life changing experience, and one of the best memories of my life. Long live real music and may the greats never die.

Myles just took the breath out of the air. Breath taking vocalist of all time. I have seen Alter Bridge 3 times going on my 4th. Seen Myles on his solo tour just fantastic. Myles sings like a bird.

Haley has matured so much over these years, she was just a kiddo back then, look at that starstruck babyface. Anyone can see how hard she was fangirling, LOL. Comparing the two "who is better" in the comments, now that is funny people, because they are friends :) Myles is singing the way I love him best here. Just simple Myles. The way their voices blend is unreal. All this with probably one or two practice run-throughs. And no auto-assist. Hard to find singers like Myles and Haley anymore, you gotta be born with a gift like these two have, and you have to be good-hearted as well. They both are that.
Probably because nowadays singers don't sing for music but to be famous. Myles sings his heart out this is why it works

Myles is a vocal God and an excellent guitarist.
Check out Alter Bridge, incredible band Start with Blackbird studio version then watch Live at Amsterdam/Wembley. Dont miss Words Darker than their Wings at Royal Albert Hall and Watch over You live Billboard performance/live at Amsterdam. There are lots of his incredible live performances online to watch. Myles also does a duet with Disturbed's David Dramon, their cover of Simon & Garfunkel's The Sound of Silence is on another level.
Kennedy has two fantastic solo albums out as well as four albums with Slash. He also has two really great albums from a previous band called The Mayfield Four and 2 from his jazz fusion band called Citizen Swing. There's a lot of Myles kennedy music out there to discover and the good news is it's all great.
