      We really enjoyed the Razor Clams in tamarind sauce. Was very delicious. Thanks for watching!

    I just came back from Phu Quoc a day ago. Long beach was disappointing. Crappy beach and unexciting nightlife, but nice clear waters. Had fun in Sunset Town and the cable car though...

      Thanks for the feedback on your experience. What were the downsides of the beach and nightlife that you found disappointing?

      @@TravelwithDodo Despite being called long beach, the walkable part of the beach was actually only less than 1km. Not only was the beach not long, it was not very wide either, not much space between where the hotel grounds end and the sea begins. Not great for walking. Bars closed at 10/11pm.

      Good points, Long Beach is fairly narrow in comparison to other beaches. It is supposed to be the longest beach in Phu Quoc. What area were you by? During our visit we stayed out past midnight, however we did venture off a little bit away from the beach resort area. I know sometimes certain resort bars close early to help reduce noise for guests during the late night. Not sure if that was what you experienced. Definitely appreciate your feedback on your experiences. It’ll help others with their travel arrangements.

      @@TravelwithDodo I stayed in a resort called Anja. Nice hotel. Pity it was on a shitty beach.
      I walked over to the next beach to the north, closer to Duong Dong. Much nicer. More beach bars and restaurants that opened till later. If i'm ever going back I'm staying on that beach.
      Would have loved to go to the beaches on the east coast which are reportedly the best. But I didn't have enough time.

    What is the best and nicest swimming beach ?

    • @TravelwithDodo
      @TravelwithDodo  ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s a tough one because many of the beaches are beautiful in their own way. Check out Ong Lang Beach, it can be quite nice if it doesn’t get too crowded on certain days. Khem Beach is nice and well maintained by the resorts on the beach, but the beach can be busy due to that same reason. Sao Beach is always the go to beach for an amazing experience and nice dip. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching!

    So if i have to choose to spend 3 days in phu quoc (visiting vinpearl, vinland , snorkeling )or 3 days in danang ( visiting bana hills, hoi an ) which is the better option ?

    • @TravelwithDodo
      @TravelwithDodo  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That’s a tough one. I’m not sure of the status of vinland as of right now but it was under construction still during our visit. It was just a waterpark and wasn’t much to do other than that, the best thing about it was definitely the ride there. Snorkeling is always a fun, but if I had to choose it’ll be Da Nang and Hoi An (personal preference). There are more options for activities, golden hands bridge and hoi an night experience is great. Can’t go wrong with either destinations, whichever you choose you’ll have a great time.

    Sao beach was the most filthy beach I've ever seen. Maybe that is cuz I went during off season but the amount of trash there was insane. 😢

    • @TravelwithDodo
      @TravelwithDodo  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh no! that is terrible. We all have to do our part and keep the beauty of nature clean. This is why we always pick up after ourselves on every trip. It's unfortunate that this seems to occur when tourism starts to grow with a destination. Not only tourists, but also all the by--product trash that comes along with catering to visitors.

    Seems to me the Narrator hasn't even been to Phu Quoc! It is great in PQ but narrator missed the best reason to go! Beach bars and restaurants on the soft sand close to the seas edge. Hiking? you got to be kidding me, in less than 1/2 hour you would die of heat exhaustion lol Going on a 2 hour guided tour to pepper farm almost kills most people. PQ is for beach relaxing alas the mighty tourist dollar and greed for it is ruining this island.

      Although Vietnamese is the primary language in Phu Quoc there are some English speaking locals. But we always suggest learning some basic phrases and words when visiting a foreign country. Hope that helps!
