I treated myself to these and have zero regrets. Speaking of comfort, I wear eye glasses and I feel these have been the only headsets that have not be uncomfortable.

Word of caution for people who want to copy 1:17 - I tried it once on my very sturdy headphones that I had for 10 years and one of the speakers decided to die. It didn't die when I dropped it a dozen times or when I actually used it. Only when I gave it a mild twist. Good news is I had a new set replacing that one so it wasn't a real loss for me, but I'll never copy the "flex" again like the reviewers do.
Yeah, definitely don't recommend doing it at home. We do it so you don't have to!

The XM4's are by far the best pair of headphones I've ever had. From noise cancellation to portability it's hard for me to be excited for this new release since the 4's live in my heart so faithfully. That being said though, the XM5's are sharp and maybe if a sale comes along I'll pick them up.

@@troywalt4834 Looks alone are not enough to sway me. The fact the XM5’s don’t fold is a huge drawback, along with the skinnier headband.
@@yungfrancis777 I thought the XM4s were so comfortable, until I tried the XM5's and they were much better.
I don't see the folding as such an issue because since they fold flat I can fit them in my backpack and they fold flat and thin. I don't see why this is such a drawback.
Plus since they don't fold as much as the XM4, less likely to break and will be more robust.
@@Fighter4Street i respect your opinions, but i just prefer the foldability of the 4’s. if i get a chance to check out the 5’s comfort, i’ll rethink my current outlook haha.
Wouldn't recommend the XM5's until Sony fixes the NC-Auto-Optimizer with a firmware update, currently the XM4's have far better noise cancelling than the XM5...

When the ANC is on, and the ear cups are sealed - it’s great. Definitely better than the M4’s. My BIGGEST problem with these things is that every time it THINKS i’m breaking the seal (chewing, hoodie rubs external cup…) it reduces ANC as if on its way to allow talk-through / ambient sound ! This is my first flight with these - and maybe there’s a setting i’m missing. But i turned OFF voice assistant, pause when headphones are off, speak to chat …etc. This is REALLY bugging me and it didn’t happen on my M4’s. Is this on / off issue what others are talking about when complaining about ANC ?? Is there another setting someone can point me to ?
It's a known issue with them. Hopefully a firmware update can make it less sensitive
Try factory resetting and then connect only to devices without Sony headphones connect app installed.
I have same issue with my XM4, and this is the only solution I have found. Sony headphones connect update 9.2 is messing up ANC settings from what I gathered from reddit complaints.
I wonder how long the material in the ear piece would last until it peels off? I’ve never heard anyone actually review about this.
Fun fact: i was able to fit XM5’s into my XM4s case :D

I've had the Sony WH-1000XM3's, WH-1000XM4's and WF-1000XM4's. All have been fantastic the XM3's have had the best bass and noise cancelling in my opinion. I've only had my XM5's for 3 hours and they sound so good I don't like how they don't fold away anymore like the previous models which is a bit of an annoyance -_- I'm impressed with them so far!
seeing that it's been 9 months since your comment. I would like to know how you feel about the XM5s in comparison to the XM3s (which I currently have).
They're at a decent price in my country at the moment and I really want them, but I'm worried about the sound quality and durability (I know the noise cancelling is amazing).

How come you've had both XM3, XM4 and XM5? Didn't the previous models hold up?
I got the XM5 a few days ago but I had to return them to the store today. The headband is so uncomfortable and I couldn't use the headphones for longer than 30 minutes at a time. It really sucks that I had to return them because they were great headphones.
Maybe it's shape of your head the problem, i think these are easily the most comfortable headphones i've ever tried, barely even notice they are on my head.
My xm5's are very comfortable, never had a problem with the headband. Pre-ordered them.

if I’m not mistaken Sony said the XM5 has the same battery life as the XM4 but the XM5 has faster charging.
I’m a little concerned about the replaceability of the ear-cups on these. I haven’t seen any for sale yet. Just thinking long term

shocked that lack of foldability of all things might be the dealbreaker for me
I feel like the EQ settings in the app are underwhelming. They sound better out of the box and sound less punchy when you EQ them.

Audiophiles be ware if you are used to high resolution detail retrieval imaging etc and your phone does not support Aptx Adaptive / Aptx HD then you won't get that highest bandwidth with the Sennheiser Momentum 4's compared to the 990Kbps LDAC high resolution detail (about 90% wired) of the Sony XM5 (or 4's). I have both and the Pandas and the Mobius and the Ananda BT's and have to return the Momentum 4's as they sound great but unfortunately I can personally pick out that MICRODYNAMICS are missing with the Momentum 4's due to no LDAC 990 or my Samsung phone not supporting APTX adaptive set to high res. It's Samsung's fault not Sennheiser's imo. Now I wish LDAC was a free license so that every company could support it.
P.s. I am a huge huge Sennheiser fan and would be willing to pay them for an LDAC license anytime

Hey! I actually got the XM5 recently through my employer, the mic is way better. But I gotta say, coming from the Surface 2 headphones I feel the ANC options for audio of Sony are not as good, ambient feature also felt weird. I tested both on a plane and in normal usage for the last month, and found myself returning to my old Surface 2 more often than not.
I had a pair of xm5 headphones and they broke in less then a year. I don’t know ,if I’ll get a replacement pair or not.
I wanted the AirPod Max but since it doesn’t have a headphone Jack, so yeah

I really hate XM5's ANC setting. You can manually maximize the noise cancellation when using XM3 and XM4 yet it's IMPOSSIBLE for XM5. It just lets too much noise passing through even in the niose canceling mode :(
Have you ever tried the Nuraphones as a comparison? I asked you a few times but never answered. They simply destroy the XM3 and XM4, not just the sound quality but the poor built as well. I've just ordered the XM5, will see how they perform.

I love the design of the Airpods Max, but I'd pick these. The lack of a power button on the APM was too big of a downside for me.
Which colour should I consider, but confused on Midnight Blue vs Silver which looks like beige colour something.
Bro i can’t tell if its tan or white lol. Some shots look like white but some shots are tan, so some clarification on how it looks irl would be great! Plus i’ve seen a lot of people complaining about the big case and that you cant bend the headphones for me personally it wont make a difference cause i do travel with a backpack.
It's an off white color. Close to white, but a little warmer.

What’s better XM5 or Apple AirPods Max ???
I sold my Max for these and am really glad I did. I didn’t like never being able to turn off the Max (every time I pick them up they’re dead) and the weight of them became uncomfortable after a while. The XM5 are so light and the sound is incredible.

I’ve never had a great experience with Voice Assistants aside from setting a timer and asking simple math so I don’t really use it.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I remember seeing the Bose 700 in one of your videos in the past. Is there a reason why you never reviewed them?
I got them long after release and there just wasn't much point as it wouldn't get many views.

I believe we can use them to tv rather than directly to ps5
You can definitely pair them to ps5.
They come with a jack wire, so you can connect them with the controller and they won't lose battery at all :)
The XM5s is a good (maybe even excellent) pair of headphones, but ...
The main reason why i did not kept them is sound and comfort
The sound quality is not the best, at least from my perspective. I listened to the new Bowers PX7 S2 and i think they do have a much better sound quality for a similar price. The comfort is also not the best: the slim ear cushions caused my ears to hurt, whereas i did not have the same problem with the older model XM4
The build quality is also average and really "plasticky"
The ANC, mic quality, touch controls and the Sony app are indeed great and the battery is also pretty good - these should be the main reasons some should buy them, but with the B&W PX7 S2 on the market and the Momentum Wireless 4's around the corner maybe there are better options out there...
Have you tried them with Ldac versus PX7. Honestly i never heard any critics to px7 except one youtuber saying they sound sorta like voices with bass and didn't like them at all. And another site saying that they show "about great detail" . I tried the Sony Xm4 and i was so in love with the sound signature. I'm thinking of buying the Momentum 4 but the style has changed and not sure how they going to be except 60 hours of battery life. Btw i have the b&o H95's and anc isn't that great so i keep it off

Though the comfort is also better on the PX7 S2's , as far as i can tell
So this is still to release in India. So if any1 can help me with the review of its performance on Google Meet, Zoom and Calls. Especially Mic performance.
Apparently they are really good, the headphones controls the background noise so it can focus on your voice only.
Sound quality is fine and all, but if the controls are as bad as the XM4s then no amount of money in the world will get me to use these.
I haven't used physical controls on bluetooth headphones in years. I have a lot of headphones. It's incredibly easy to control them with software.

I want to control my music without having to pull out my phone all of the time. That’s a reasonable request.

I have my XM4s and I absolutely love them! I have no idea where I'm going to get $400 🤣 quite expensive but I am very much interested in them! My XM4s costed me £250 brand new, early this year so very good
