    I've got the 9mm one like that. It's my new truck gun.

    Well made gun..I've got the 9mm...I'm getting the 45...Tanker A1...These are nice...Nothing else to say. The price got my attention, then the reviews. Got the 9mm first, after shooting this gun I called Murphys to order the 45...

    Yep. I have the service version. Love it and it performs great on both ball ammo and defense hollow points. This gun runs. Love the grips on yours.

      I have the same grips on mine.

    Tisas says the Tank Commander is a 70 series pistol. The grips are hard maple.

    Just purchased this model in the chrome finish. Beautiful! And just $389.00 plus free ship.

    I have an original one stainless steel barrel came in a box great shooter only problem I had sights were off had it fixed for 50 dollars basically a commander sized GI model with regular hammer enjoy

  • @mick5740
    @mick5740 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Different hammer as well That’s what I’m wondering if that hammer gives any bite. Some say it does not

    • @BaddFrogg777
      @BaddFrogg777 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No trigger bite on mine. Put a Ed Brown trigger and firing pin stop. Plus Pachmyr rubber grips. She's awesome.

    I bought one recently and I'd put it up against a Colt Combat Commander any day of the week. The fit and finish is excellent. The only thing that I miss is the long triggers on my WWI 1911 pistols. The 1911A1 trigger in this one is just fine but I think I'm going to put a long trigger in this one.

    Mine are 8 round mags with the Commander.

      I just checked mine. 7 rounds. Will install chip McCormick 8 round springs this weekend for both mags provided. Converted a couple of GI mags last week . Works great!

      Can you simply use 8rd mags instead of the 7rd mags in the Tank Commander, without any modifications? Thank you.

    • @BaddFrogg777
      @BaddFrogg777 ปีที่แล้ว

      Get the Wilson Combat Elite 9mm 10rd magazine or the Ed Brown 9mm magazine 10rd/magazine.@@robteaster2446 Correction : the WC Elite 9mm 10rd magazine did not fit. As the gunsmith told me the base floor plate goes up the front of the magazine.

  • @ericc.7000
    @ericc.7000 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    Yeah, "a bigger hole up front" means it costs twice as much to shoot! For those who shoot a lot and are on a budget, try the 9mm @ .27 cents per round vs. .60 cents per round for .45ACP at this point in time.
    Haven't seen a bad review of a Tisas yet. Look out Springfield and Colt...someone is nipping at your heels!

    • @WillyRaschke
      @WillyRaschke  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yeah, but ya don’t have to shoot em’ twice…

    • @bronzestarvue

      Getting a 1911 is like getting a Mustang...has to be .45 ACP and a V8...

    • @BaddFrogg777
      @BaddFrogg777 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WillyRaschke Saw a test on an old army helmet. They fired two 1911's. One in .45 Auto and the other in 9mm. They used plain ball ammunition. The .45 Auto made a dent in the helmet. The 9mm went right through. And nowadays you can get extremely powerful 9mm ammunition. To each his own. As we all have preferences. Stay safe. Cheers,

      @david-468 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BaddFrogg777k but you go to level 2 .45 will dent and kill 9mm won’t , I’m sure the test was done on ww2 era armor/helmets right?

  • @stephen562
    @stephen562 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Why do you have preference for the 4 and a quarter inch barrel?

    • @LicardoDeBousee
      @LicardoDeBousee ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I agree with the shorter barrel. I have the Tank Commander’s big brother in the full sized 5-inch barrel. I like the way it shoots, but I don’t like the fact that I DONT have as much accuracy control. The longer length I feel makes the recoil harder to manage. I’m gonna sell mine and use the money to buy the Tank Commander.

  • @richardkluesek4301
    @richardkluesek4301 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    A well rendered clone of a 1970s era Colt Commander or Colt Combat Commander. To nit pick minuta the only difference is that the Turks got it better than Colt by installing a long rat tail tang grip safety, the Colt's were small stubs and some users got hammer bite. I'm inspired to look for one of these. Wonder about small parts interchangeability.
