I have a standard length one also and have been very impressed with it. I'm looking at the Tank Commander as another purchase to go with the full size. I've owned several 1911s over the years from Springfield Armory, Sig Sauer, and others and I think the Tisas is a heck of a value. As a Marine ('76-'79), 1911's hold a special place in my heart. I've also learned that good magazines made by Wilson or Chip McCormick and 230 grain ball ammunition minimize 1911 issues.
Was thinking about buying a Colt commander. Been hearing good things about Tisas. Can't go wrong at $400. Gonna get one, take the $600 savings and buy 1800 rounds of reload. That translates into a lot of fun.
I bought one for $329 which was a good deal. I have 400 rounds of hardball through it with no fails or issues. I love the Commander size and balance. Great video and an honest review.
“1911’s are just cool and fun, and I can’t quit them”. Man that hit home, Most guys my age do a double take when they see I sometimes pack a Slightly modified Springfield mil spec. 😎
I had several failures to feed from my Tisas stakeout within the first couple hundred rounds. It was also throwing brass back at my face every few rounds. I carefully increased the extractor tension but it didn’t make a difference. Then everything just stopped and it runs like butter. It ejects properly and feeds/ejects as it should. The only thing I did was start using a blend of red synthetic grease and Mobil 1 synthetic oil to lubricate it.
I have used gun grease on my 1911s during the break in process and then switched to regular lubricant after the action smoothed out. I've had good luck with Lucas grease and gun oil products that you can find on Amazon. Wilson Combat used to sell gun grease but I don't see it listed on their website anymore.
I’m hitting a like and a subscription cause I’d definitely like to see a consumer update in the future with a good amount of rounds threw this. I’m thinking about making a purchase on this exact model.
I have the Tisas Match but this is next on my list, a 1911 trigger is a very easy install to get 3-4 lbs and a crisp break, almost all of them need about 500 rds through them to get right, once there there is nothing like a 1911 trigger
just to let you know the early one I got looks like a GI with a regular hammer 4 inch type barrel but if its like mine and you want a full guide rod it does not use a standard recoil spring get one from wolff springs only problem I had sights were off had it fixed for 50 dollars
Why do think it is not practical? Mine is as accurate as my series 80 colt lightweight CDR 45. I rotate my EDCs and will carry it next . I would appreciate why you say it is not appropriate. Brass flying in my face has not happened to me. Thanks .
I have a Tisas 1911, a standard length one. It's a fantastic gun. I love it. Not a single complaint from me.
Sweet. Been very impressed with this one. Great value

I've fired a couple of 1911s in my day and the Tisas is as good as any mid-tier 1911 I've fired. Better than the SW1911 I used for sure

Just bought a blemished nickel model in 45. My 6th Tisas 45. No complaints across the board.

My Tisas run great after adjusting the extractor.

Yes they are not practical but they are so cool and fun to shoot.

What you smoking
Brother get some glasses on , you only have one set of eyes. A little skateboard tape on the front strap will help keep a grip on it.
Buddy u better wear some safety glasses with those casings coming back at you
wouldn't trust it beyond range.
