You guys could do one of these a month where you get together and discuss a couple of watches at the start, then spend 5 minutes or so on industry news, followed by knock off and imitations, where you warn collectors and us public of items and issues you know about. Just proposing...

Ha! A chunk of my Saturday night spent with my two favorite watch guys together talking about watches! When I saw this video had been released I poured two fingers of fine sippin' whiskey, roasted a Gurkha into life then kicked back to watch the watch nerds. The internet is magic to make this kind of thing possible, life is great and for a few minutes all is well in my world. Thanks guys, you youngsters made my day.
Hi TGV, just coming from a "Watch and Learn" video! I want to say thank you for getting me into watches (and hopefully horology :)). After months of familiarization with the watch history and many brands, today I got my first ever watch to celebrate finishing University and starting a job -- the Oris Big Crown Pointer Date in blue-gray, which is the perfect everyday watch for me. The research is making the whole journey more fun and makes a person appreciate the watch even more, so naturally I would love more history content. For anyone else looking for a watch and the thinking about "high-end" brands that you might never own keeps you from enjoying another watch, go in a store and try those "high-end" watches. You will be surprised how quickly you could discard them after seeing them on your wrist, I wouldn't change my Oris for anything. Keep up the great work. Toodle pip!
Marc is such a good dude. My white dial/blue bezel Islander is my new favorite watch. Absolutely fantastic execution and incredible value! His pilot watch will hopefully be my next.

LIW is a great value and a huge supporter to our community. I bought a watch from them and i got fast service and good service when I sent in a question. Marc is the kind of collector I like. His collection doesn't chase trends for clout, they aren't meaningless purchases, they mostly have stories behind them or bought when he hit milestones in life.

Always glad to see such enthusiasm and pride for whatever someone has a passion to collect. For decades the old watches from my family made their way to me. I liked them but kept telling myself I loved the new ones. My preferences have since totally reversed. These old vintage watches tell me stories that really grab me. Glad you guys love this hobby.

I love what Mark did with the Islander. I had just finished building my own custom SKX from the ground up with virtually the same specs when he released them. I may still buy one eventually. I've dealt with Marc several times and he's always been fantastic. My sentimental side would love to add an Islander to the collection. Thanks to the both of you. (Marc explained how to change links in the first vid I saw from him, and TGV reviewed the Interstellar watch) ... Two guys I religiously watch, they have taste and unbelievable knowledge. I cannot wait to buy my first Long Island watch.... Soon and glad he delivers what most of us watch collectors are looking for in a true dive watch and that price, I hope he can keep up with the orders cause these should just fly. Nice work and glad somebody put this price point in a quality time peice that you don't have to be rich to afford and appreciate.
I got myself an ISL-05, 38mm... so happy with it. Solid watch. The reason why I bought the Islander watch is because TGV mentioned Marc (me having a small wrist but Seiko discontinuing the SKX series going with bigger new models).

Marc and TGV great video. I gotta say: I really appreciate the care these smaller brands(like Marc and his Islander brand) can offer their customers. After deciding to put a timepiece back on my wrist, I ended up grabbing a 6105 homage from Detroit Mint. Dave from DM really took care of me pre-sale, and 2 weeks after my 90 day warranty ended, my crown tube stripped and had issues. Dave said send it back and in less than a week I had a new one on my wrist. I know that I could have gotten a sterile 6105 homage, just like I could find a different skx homage. But the attention to detail won't be there. Thanks for the excellent video, guys.

This was a FANTASTIC video. Two titans. Two people who have had a huge influence on my collection, on my knowledge of watches. Two guys I'd love to meet some day. Between Gentry videos and the Watch & Learn series from LIW, I've become a better and smarter collector. And if not for both of you, I'd have never heard of Squale. Thank you both for your advice, your help, your knowledge. Great video TGV.....I'd love to see more like this.
What a team up! The most trusted reviewer with the most trusted seller (no disrepect to Time Teller, JOMW, Oleg and Bond, Teddy, etc) but I think these guys are the absolute titans of TH-cam watchers.
I'm glad the Islander project worked out for Marc. I own an SKX (that I bought from him) and a 5KX, both of which I like. I predict that Seiko will start selling a Prospex watch with the SKX case in a few years at north of $500, but Marc's Islander will probably still have better specs for far less money.
Awesome video. I love Mark and the islander. Marks prices are very competitive and if he is a few dollars higher than eBay and other major retailers, it’s worth it to support a good family man, small businessman, and a true watch enthusiast. Thanks TGV. SEIKO IS KING!!!
I first learned about the Seiko 5 from TGV, it is my first mechanical watch and I bought it (SNZG14) from Mark. Very happy and now very passionate (and a lot more knowledgeable) about mechanical watches. I've got the bug now! Keep up the great work gentlemen.

Crazy thing is I really enjoyed this today . Wasn't a big fan of the Islander watch at first because I felt he was just copying the SKX but after hearing Mark talk about it and the reason why can understand why he did it and what a smart thing it was to do . My only problem with some Limited Edition watches and TGV Limited Edition watch is unless you have the money right then when they come out you can't ever get them . Yes you may find one for sale afterwards but you're going to be paying alot more for it . Great show though loved it .

Crazy thing is I really enjoyed this today . Wasn't a big fan of the Islander watch at first because I felt he was just copying the SKX but after hearing Mark talk about it and the reason why can understand why he did it and what a smart thing it was to do . My only problem with some Limited Edition watches and TGV Limited Edition watch is unless you have the money right then when they come out you can't ever get them . Yes you may find one for sale afterwards but you're going to be paying alot more for it . Great show though loved it .
