Yes it is, but for that price (5'500 $) I prefer by far the Tudor Black Bay GMT ( 4'000 $). In my opinion, it's a better watch and more beautiful as well, but as I said, it's just my opinion.

People complain about Seiko's misalignment issues, and then that 35k-watch Daytona has the little 9 misaligned with the bigger 9 index and nobody says anything (only my OCD is bothered by that :) Having said that, the casual talk about a vintage Seiko, a super modern one and such an icon of a Swiss luxury watch is priceless. That's the way this passion should always be talked about, hats off to Mark and to you Tristano, siete veramente due signori. Ben fatto amico mio!
I remember once I bought a Seagull 1963 from Long Island Watch and it came in defective. I immediately emailed customer service and I was surprised they sent me my replacement FIRST and then I had to send them the defective back FREE of charge. Never have I had a vendor send me my replacement first. The fact that Mark himself made sure I was taken care of first before getting the defective product back shows when he says you have to take care of your customer he really means it. Still have my Seagull and am glad that I purchased from Mark and not another vendor.

What I ove about this show is such: you keep your options open. There are inexpensive mechanical and automatic watch brands that can be considered and purchase. They can be elegant or simply tool watches. Even quartz watches can be considered : Casio, Glycine, Seiko, GARMIN, and so on. And for those that have excellent budgets can be educated about various higher price point time pieces. Now you guys got me hooked on NATO bands.

I'm an iranian and one of the reasons there are so many vintage seikos and citizens in iran, is that because of economical problems it's hard for most people to spend over 100 or 200 usd on a watch so we really take care of watches that we own and if someone wants to buy an automatic they usually consider vintage seiko 5's or vintage rado's. A friend of mine owns a seiko 5 and he said "it's like 50 years old its 10 minutes off everyday"

Great discussion gents. When you mentioned the pandemic starting, our last trip overseas was to Augsberg, Germany in December 2019. I decided to go to a watch store, as who wouldn't want to at least see a Laco Augsberg, while in Augsberg. Ironically it was the one they didn't have in stock!! Lol. We managed a holiday in Antalya in February before, as Marc said, the world ended! You definitely need to have more of these chats! ......Watch Cabinet??🤔
I gotta agree with Marc. The Daytona is exquisite being white gold, but that spring drive leaves it in the dust tech/proformance wise, that sweep is second to only the tuning fork accutrons of yesteryear. Which in their own right were phenomenal.
Hey, just one tip based on my own experience (not with this model). You can polish that Pogue's cristal and preserve the original part. It gives a perfect result and is not like polishing the case or bracelet, which I agree is better not to touch. Water sandpaper for metal. The only delicate part is that you better remove the bracelet and movement to work with it, the bezel too if it's possible (if not just protect it with some tape). Because it's flat and protruded it's very easy to work with it, just moving the case upside down on the sandpaper in circles on a hard flat surface. By hand. You start with coarse grit and move slowly to fine grit. With water all the time. It will be grey and opaque for a while, but with the last sandpaper, it will become totally transparent, a pleasant end of the work. In my experience, the last polish with the finest grit doesn't require water. It takes an hour of work, it´s not very hard. It works only with flat mineral crystals with no AR, of course. It doesn't look very damaged, no deep scratches, it should be an easy fast rewarding job.
