I missed this video when it came out, I only saw the one on the main channel. It’s really great to get a full tour and fascinating to see what was donated. It’s heavy on the sci-fi and fantasy-not that it’s a bad thing, especially for kids who should learn to think big and creatively, and I would have been very happy with this library as a kid. But it points to a certain type of reader among the subscribers of the channel, probably not too many English majors among them. It makes me feel better about including at least one classic, Moby Dick, among my contributions for this year’s project.
It’s also the Where’s Waldo of videos. I managed to find most but not all of my books on the first watch and will give it another go later. But it’s actually more fun to see books and think: “Good, someone else thought of sending that one.”
ETA: On another watch I actually detected a copy of Moby Dick on the shelves here. Selecting books for these projects is hard-the ones you consider must-haves are probably also the ones someone else will send. So, without coordination you’ll get duplicates where more variety would have been possible; or an important book could end up missing because everyone thought someone else would take care of it.
Awesome video! Fabulous project! Countless hours put into building this library, getting the donated books, sorting, shipping, unloading, and the list just goes on and on. Great job Zack and to your Uncle. I wanna purchase some of those kid books!!! Oh; and the water well so it would even have indoor plumbing. Amazing project!!!

Happy to see that at least a couple of John Green books ended up in that library, I spotted 1 copy of Paper Towns and 1 of The Fault In Our Stars, so that's fun, figure since it's a library provided by the internet there should be at least some of the books written by a youtube famous author in there, not that I provided them or anything (I couldn't afford to send books) but I'm glad they're all there
At 5:19 I saw the Orson Scott Card, Ender series books I sent. Great work you and your team are doing!

I only saw that we donated, at the 4:54 mark. I'm sure the others are boxed up somewhere. The important part is that the overall quality of the books there is phenomenal. I recognized so many of the titles as some of the best books on the market in the last few decades.

I could not find my books. The editions I sent are not the same ones that I have, 'cause mine are in spanish, so maybe i did not recognize them.
My books are:
A brief history of time (S. Hawking)
An astronaut's guide to life on Earth (Chris Hadfield)
Man's search for meaning (Viktor E. Frankl)

Gray’s Anatomy is an actual 1000+ page anatomy and embryology textbook, it is SUPER detailed and is a great encyclopedia of the human body. The show just took its name 😂
Isn't it bad to keep books all the way back like that? Especially with Kenya's climate.
Why are you giving this library to the government?
In many countries the Library is a public asset and should only be controlled by government bodies this also helps them to prevent any offensive or any propaganda book to be in circulation
@@sanketshirke6428 Also if he was running the library he’d have to cover expenses such as staffing, upkeep and property expenses which is difficult when you dont even live on the continent.
