    Just a small piece of constructive criticism. I love the barbershop and how organic these conversations feel. But at the same time I would love to get more value from the guests. As in more deep business questions being asked to them. To be able to get deeper into their heads as to how they look at different aspects of business and especially the 0-1 and 1-10 journey. A lot more how to questions might be able to bring more value.
    Other than that, been a long time subscriber and fan of the concept and really grateful for everything Shantanu is doing for the ecosystem. ❤

    Some interesting insights, facts, anecdotes and quotes:
    1. Cash on Delivery orders accounts to at-least 50% in a typical ecommerce company
    2. As per Chirag, the reason behind high cash on deliveries in India is more to do with "Customer Intent" than a logistical problem. what that means is - when the customer ordered the product he needed it but when it arrived he no longer needs it (may be it was an impulse purchase etc.)
    3. Chirag opines that we typically focus more on finding/exploring solutions than in the problem discovery phase. He tries to overcome this problem by separating the two in the meetings - he will have a separate meeting for problem discovery and a separate one for finding/exploring solutions
    4. Pessimist sounds right but optimist makes money
    5. The brands which stayed for 20 years, the created value in the second decade is 90% and it is 10% in the first decade. the brands which stayed for 30 years - they created significantly more value in the last decade than the previous decades. So it makes sense for a company to choose a long-play game as the value created is disproportionally higher as the company ages. Similar thing for India as a country. We took 67 years to become a 1 trillion economy whereas 7 years for the second trillion and 5 years for the third trillion.
    6. An Average founder in a great market > a great founder in an Average market. So it is always wise to choose the market correctly as other things will likely fall in place
    7. It is difficult for startups to change habits of the people. better to ride on the wave created by giants.
    8. A lot of people doesn't realize the law of compounding. A 10% MoM growth leads to 3x in a year.
    9. The law of compounding has three variables - starting number, number of years and rate of growth. Of these, the rate of growth has the highest sensitivity. It doesn't matter what the starting number is.

Also if you can share insights about what initial problem they face in starting up like raising funds, hiring founding teams and what mistakes they made will be more helpful keep building content for an entrepreneurship Indian decade🎉🎉🎉❤

    I don’t think so
    Working in india is like working for a factory that will make u work with less than minimum wage.
    No one india gets paid per hour.
    Example:
    A full stack developer in Bangalore with 5year work ex gets 30lakhs to 40lakhs a year but with no limited legal working hour. Which means he has to work 12-14 hrs a day.
    In USA a full stack developer with 5year experience earns 3-4crores with extra pay working above 10hrs a day.
    Plus they get ESOPs if they are really hardworking plus if u r in UK ur healthcare is covered u might even get a car, if u have kids their education is free.
    So it’s better to move abroad if u r hard working but if u want a start a company then india is better option.

      I feel you are heavily discounting the cost of living component when comparing salaries. We might want to compare money saved instead of money earned for comparable lifestyles as a better metric. Also, lot of examples seem really specific to your case. Working in one of the countries mentioned, never came across any reasonable tech company paying overtime to a software engineer for full-time positions. UK, on the other hand also takes in a larger chunk of your earnings, so it becomes that much harder to be able to afford luxuries in life. For instance, a high quality higher-education for your children.

      I m in uk and the cost of living is not as high as u think.
      If u stay in london u would pay 1500/person for one person but staying in a small town like Norwich where the rent is 200-300/person is very cheap.
      And I myself am able to easily save 60% of my salary.
      That 60% is a lot compared to wat u get in india.

      Obviously, it would seem a lot of money if you convert it. What I meant is, my salary when I was earning between 30 -35 LPA fetches the same amount of luxuries or some times less as I have now earning 5-6x in dollars. Also, again you never make decisions based on 1 university, you would like to have options as broad as possible. Oxford is certainly not the best school for many disciplines. Anyways, I hope you can build a good life wherever you live. 👍

    Why eCommerce companies have issue with CoD ?

      Cod tends to have higher RTO issues as compared to prepaid orders. In prepaid orders , customers are not buying out of whims or just for the sake of satisfying their wish to buy something. Because the payment is made before the product reaches them, they're more serious about it rather than the cod buyers. A lot of young kids buy stuff online on COD and then return it either because it's too expensive and their parents won't pay for it. Or they will return it as if they don't care.

      Preferably by late 20s. That’s when the responsibilities are smaller and the risk appetite is higher. For a middle class guy post mid 30s the risk appetite should be small because your livelihood depends on it. If you have a backup and the basic livelihood is sorted, then any age is fine to fail.
