This channel is seriously underrated.
Whattt I was watching this channel for quite a while now and never realized. I thought he had at least 500k subs.
I quit aswell !!!! I was doing industrial design..I was never accepted by any lecture they never liked my ideas...I now own my own jewellery business and I design custom items for DJs and public figures now :) follow ur heart dont let anyone put you down by not beleiving in you !!!!!!
Your videos actually inspired me to try out the 20 hour learning method, and it has been life changing, keep up the great videos..
That's really really cool! I was a civil engineering student and Ive decided to come to Italy to study industrial design. Some people also told me that maybe I can try to educate myself without going university cause it wastes too much time. But at the end I couldn't do it that way. I admire u so much of your courage and confidence. No matter how we end laterly, we must have learned and experienced something prescious with the choice we made. Best wishes to you and I'll keep following ur vedio.
Nice. I love John's advice and it is soo true. I am now 60YO, been designing all my life, my 2 life mottos are "I learn what I can and share what I know" and "Win-Win-Win-the more people you help to win the better". And it serves me well every time. Great vids Myrin! Love the energy =]
I'm an industrial design student from Costa Rica and the grind is pretty real. I now watch your channel and can relate to so much! It's pretty hard to find a fellow student with such relatable content!!
How did you get the money to travel all over the world for internships and work? I appreciate that burning money on that may be better than burning money on a Uni course (Joe said that) but as a student that money comes from student loans, if you quit Uni where does the money come from? What side hustles you been up to :D
bruised knees
@@ssaammii Holy shit
@@SomePersonOnTH-cam lmao I mean he had to get the money somewhere-
Probably his parents are rich!
Due to financial situations, I had to leave uni. for a smaller school. But outside of school, I have two goals this year:
1. Communications
2.Personal Management
I pray it will start well.
so whats the update of that brother?
This is so interesting to see! I was considering doing design at AUT too and that’s how I found your channel! Good luck with sprintathon for 2019
Dude i'm jealous of you, I wish I left school to figure things out when it wasn't right for me. It seems like you took a chance and things still ended up working for you. You made your own path!
I spent 2 years in a degree I wanted, had to switch to less competitive engineering degree, 6 years later finally graduated and realized my nightmare had come true; I had gotten a degree in something I didn't want to do. Now I'm still trying to figure it all out x.x your journey is inspiring nonetheless. I really want to get into design but I don't want to go back to school for it because i've just spent so long being there...i'm just looking through youtube videos for tutorials and drawing on the side for now.
I’m really confused as to what sprintathon is. It sounds really cool though. Also, that ending scene was hilarious . Love from 🇨🇦C A N A D A🇨🇦
YES Jacob, This is so great, and you've had a phenomenal, INSPIRING 2018! Like you, my 2019 goal is pretty much the same. I'm polishing up my illustrating and graphic design skills so I can pursue my dream as a creative entrepreneur. I really started back in October, and have been working hard to achieve the standards I have for myself. Keep at it!!! Our dreams can be reached- after we build the ladder to reach them :)
at this age you are such an inspiration to design studenst over the world :) keep up your good work and all the best.
I also quit a multimedia course after realizing they were regargitating tutorials that I could watch on my own. I traveled across East Africa trading and doing construction for some time. Now, I've settled into copy writing and small design projects on the side.
Jayyy!!! Awesome video. Excited to see what you get up to this year
Just found your channel! Your wonderful personality really drew me in. Congratulations on all you succeeded recently, and I hope for the best concerning your projects and goals. I can’t wait to see more videos from you!
Thank you for teaching us about networking! I know you had a few mistakes this year, but you let us experience them and you didnt just teach yourself, but you also tought us. Thank you! I am looking forward to Sprintathon so take your time if it makes it right! Good Luck!
Love seeing where you're going, bro! amazing!
Happy new year
As you met the practical world, what are the skills you recommend to sharpen to an aspiring designer, someone like me. I am working on my freehand sketching in both paper and digital along with 3d modelling....
so excited for sprintathon! congrats for 2018!
how to talk to imp. people for networking
and from where we can diy our design education
I quit design school a while ago after doing an internship because of the exact same motive :D
I don't regret it tho, design is awesome.
I could totally see you doing story telling entertainment, non verbally just creating videos of events or like being a voice actor for children's cartoon movies! or just story telling in general for children!!!! or making movies!!! you could quickly get people for a movie to make! you could be a commercial actor, just like you did back in the day making your product videos on youtube. you bring me a smile :D so please dont work too hard and stay joyful :) because i feel like you are working really too hard at something you don't need to be working so hard at, i sense discouragement. you are a wonderful bright person and you have original natural talent ok? you don't have to create some huge thing and keep sprinting long term. there are areas out there were you could audition and easily get a part doing commercials, stories, voice acting. and live a supported life.
I'm a product design student too, and i always had this though in my mind that i WANT TO QUIT school, and i think you are brave! and I'm proud of you!
this is such an important and inspiring video!!!
Holy heck dude this is so inspiring! Subbed
Cheers from Argentina!! Hope you'll have a great year and that we learn together
Thanks for the inspiration myrin
#fanfromIndia
You are an inspiration!
Thank you. :)
Great stuff m8
1. Get into my dream school
2. Read 20 books and make them mine (incorporate into life)
3. Learn programming language
How did you get all these internships? I wrote like 7 applications and i don´t wanna sound arrogant, but the Projects i have done in university really stand out. At the end i got 6 negative replys and 1 commitment. It´s so hard to get the big companys with like over 5000 employees to hire me.
He has a great video about it here: th-cam.com/video/cmblamq3Urk/w-d-xo.html
Good Luck!
I REALLY WANTED TO KNOW IF IT WAS WORTH QUITTING UNI .I AM THE ONE WHO GIVES YOU POWER WHOOSHES ALL THE TIME AND HOPEFULLY YOU RECEIVE THEM ,ANYWAY HAPPY NEW YEAR .MAY TO GROW AND EARN IMPERISHABLE WEALTH
I think Myrin is in a bit of a unique situation. He has this channel where he makes amazing content and is super charismatic and great at networking.
For the average person, it is probably a good idea to stay in University so you search for employment through the different career opportunities. Also, I'm not sure how it is in industrial design but I'm sure a degree looks good on a resume.
To be fair a lot of design jobs require a degree so I’d be worried
They don't care as much, as long as you amaze them with your portfolio work? If your style meshes with their company they'll hire you.
This Dude was getting eye to eye with the Ceo of Autodesk... I am pretty sure he got any Job oppotunity that he wants :D
You can go to nike website, facebook, google they don't say a degree is required
@@MrUratox agree!
Hello Myrin,
I'm your biggest fan, I'm from India.
I'm planning to study the industrial design in Germany, Could please tell any part-time job during the study can do or internship?
And after the course, what is minimum and the average salary for an industrial designer?
Tbh I made my decision of life based off this channel
You are raising a very difficult topic. Did you consider changing school?
Never tell anyone about your plans.. It seems like you cant figure out how to make money for yourself. Start a real job and work your way up. And again never tell anyone about your plans..
HEY! im a college student who has just applied to do all sorts of design causes at Goldsmiths and UAL. Im leaning towards doing product of design on screen at Wimbledon. just wondering if you had any useful advise for me? thanks
#Thebigyear, I'm sitting trying to figure out, how will I make 2019 my big year
Can you make a video on "how to not end your life"
good luck on your 2019
Are you okay man? Do you have someone to talk to?
emilclaudell I'm cool, Sometimes I just lose motivation.
Awesome content - but what i really want to know - where do you've got those foxes from? :O
i liked that 3 fox in ur bed room
If your uni wasn't teaching you the real design process, it wasn't a good school choice to begin with.
