Dumbledore's greatest source of power is his Intellect and ability to admit his mistakes. Dumbledore has always been a step ahead of Voldemort. In the 4th book, when Harry Potter tells Dumbledore (and Sirius) how Voldemort revived himself using his blood, "For a fleeting instant, Harry thought he saw a gleam of something like triumph in Dumbledore's eyes." Dumbledore knew Voldemort messed up. There is tons of magic that Dumbledore knew about but Voldemort didn't. And Dumbledore lay a plan through Harry Potter and Snape, eventually defeating Voldemort. Merely the Portrait of Albus Dumbledore was a formidable threat to Voldemort's plans (7th book). Voldemort was very knowledgeable in the Dark Magic but very arrogant toward the power of "Light Magic." Voldemort refused to believe that he couldn't break through Lily's Protection Charm of Harry and later messed up again in the 4th book trying to use Harry's Blood Protection Charm while ironically giving him Stronger Protection "Tethered to live while he(Voldemort) lives" (Book 7). Voldemort's arrogance toward Light Magic got him killed because he couldn't comprehend how the Loyalty of Wands worked. Even when Harry tried to explain toward Voldemort that he can't kill him with the Elder Wand, Voldemort still sent a killing Curse that rebounded - Like Harry Potter expected. Dumbledore admits the danger and formidable power of Dark Magic while Voldemort simply refuses to admit the incredible power of 'Light Magic'. During their Duel, Voldemort couldn't land even one hit on Dumbledore while fighting him with Full Power. Dumbledore might have possessed the Elder Wand, but he wasn't fighting with killer attempt and still hit Voldemort with the 'Fiery Rope' and wrapped him with Water later: Score Dumbledore - 2, Voldemort - 0. After their Duel, Dumbledore started giving orders to Fudge and could have even became the new Minister of Magic if he wanted. Fudge used to take tons of advice from Dumbledore, if you think about it, Dumbledore was the real minister of magic in the Shadows. Dumbledore is more powerful than Voldemort.
I liked the video but it was over a stupid question. Minerva said that Dumbledore is the only wizard Tom Riddle/Voldemort has ever feared so the answer would/should be obvious-Dumbledore is more powerful than Voldemort
@@wallywest9257 If you read the Order of the Phoenix, you would clearly know that Dumbledore was the best. The movie are to blame for people thinking Voldy is stronger.

@The Bengalee Sceptic Dumbledore didnt kill Voldemort because he knew Voldemort had made horcruxs so it would have made no sense to kill him. What he wanted was Voldemort to get exposed to the ministry and the wizarding world to realize Voldemort had indeed come back
I love how no one even remembers that Bellatrix Lastrange, the 5th most powerful character, was present during Dumbledore's and Voldemort's duel. Dumbledore is definitely powerful enough to rival the Dark lord when weilding the Elderwand But power is not why Lord Voldemort is wary of Dumbledore Its because of his cunning, his ability to see through his bullshit and his potential to discover the Dark lord's most dreaded secret, Horcruxes In raw power, Lord Voldemort is the Greatest
In his prime years? He was even more powerful and far more experienced when he was duelling Voldemort, than when he duelled Grindelwald. Dumbledore would have killed Voldemort if he intended to. Not technically killed, he would have destroyed his body because he can't be killed because of horcruxes. Which is why Dumbledore did not intend to kill him because he knew he would not be around when and if Voldemort returned again. Dumbledore did not want to take the risk. Even Voldemort knew that and he told Dumbledore, "you are not trying to kill me Dumbledore" Voldemort was all about raw power and dark magic. Dumbledore on the other hand was a legend, a genius, someone who researched magic, who literally played with his magic like a baby plays with his toys. That's how natural Dumbledore was. He knew Dark magic too but he never used them for obvious reasons. A reference from the first book, Dumbledore told McGonagall, "You flatter me Minerva. Voldemort had powers I will never have." Professor McGonagall said, "because you are too-well-noble to use them". There is a reason why Dumbledore was the only person Voldemort feared and never dared to duel him (unless he had no choice, at the ministry). Because he knew who Dumbledore was
@@thedoruk6324 no problem bro. It's possible that you already knew most of (or all of) what I said. But I thought I should add a comment to your post in case you did not. Just to add to my last comment, If I understand it correctly, Dumbledore did not use dark magic because he wanted to set an example for everyone that they did not need to resort to learning/using dark magic for anything. Dumbledore had mastered his magic indeed. He never referred to Voldemort as dark lord, 'you know who', or 'who can not be killed', like others used to. He always called him Voldemort. Heck! At the ministry when he showed up to save Harry, he even called Voldemort *Tom* straight in his face! Despite knowing that Voldemort absolutely hated being called Tom because he always despised what his muggle father named him. Dumbledore called him *Tom* straight in his face. If you read the books, when both duelled, Dumbledore was so calm and countered each of voldemort's spell with a mere flick of his wand. He was very calm and did not have any trouble at all when duelling voldemort. Movie showed it differently just to make it look more flashy. But you know books are he canon. Movies are not the canon
Lord Voldemort and not to mention during the duel HE WAS protecting harry. While VOLDEMORT was shooting out the killing curse every 2 seconds. One thing that annoys me the most is people think just because dumbledore had the elder wand he actually used it power. Well thats completely wrong dumbledore had it with him so one can just take the wand and use it for the wrong purpose. He guarded the elder wand. Also no one not even Voldemort knew dumbledore had the elder wand AND THATS BECAUSE HE NEVER USED ITS POWERS. A man who could beat Grindelwald who possessed the elder wand could beat anyone. Not to mention dumbledore talks to voldemort like hes a little kid calling him tom. In that duel voldemort was throwing out everything at dumbledore. Who simply seemed to be relaxed and defending himself. The order itself feared Dumbledore. IF TOM was so powerful as many think. Dumbledore isnt very hard to find. Why didnt tom kill the wizard that he thought was a threat to his power. it sure woulda seemed simple if voldemort was more powerful then dumbledore. Well thats because he wasnt. Another thing this man literally had to convince some snape to kill him lmao. While voldemort was trying to survive. Dumbledore was able to surpass tom with basic spells while tom used forbidden spells and still couldnt beat dumbledore. Who was protecting harry.

Do I even need to remind you that 1) dark arts doesn't make you stronger. Reflexes and spell knowledge do. 2) Dumbledore was over 110 years old when facing Voldemort ? This man was a century old, still teaching Tom who's boss. Truth is that if you believe one second that Tom's stronger than him just explain this 3) Voldemort never attacked Hogwarts in an open fight before Dumbledore's death. And don't tell me he'd be outnumbered we can just see how stuff happens in the last book. Soooo he's just scared by one man who's boss. 4) Dumbledore has far greater knowledge in magic than Tom actually. Of course there is this discussion with Minerva at the beginning but there are some others too where he tells Harry that he does know about dark magic but doesn't use it by choice, though, knowing how magic works is what makes you stronger hence as you mentioned in another video, he casually blocked Avada Kedavra multiple times when facing Tom at the minister. The one thing you could answer is elder wand, however, the wand chooses his sorcerer so Dumbledore would get a really strong one on par with Tom's and considering all the knowledge Dumbledore has (he has the most knowledge in the Harry potter universe in terms of spells) and the reaction time for an old man (actually capable of disarming two aurors, ombrage and the minister himself in a blink of an eye before they could react when over 110 years old just says it all. Oh and, you could add on top of that that actually he's not only knowledgeable, he's the smartest out there too. So pretty much over Tom on basically all points. Dumbledore wasn't breaking a sweat whenever he faced Tom, but you can't say that for Tom. So, I still wish to understand, if anyone would explain to me if I'm wrong, where am I ?

Sir Blackbeard Nicholas Flamel is almost 700 years old. I’d be brittle at that age too. Dumbledore isn’t waaaay stronger than Voldemort. He is infinitesimally stronger, by a hairsbreadth. Though he is a bashful person and implies that Voldemort is more powerful than himself, we can extrapolate that since Dumbledore describes himself as a shade greater than Grindelwald, and we know that Voldemort is more powerful than Grindelwald, it seems that Voldemort would be half a shade inferior to Dumbledore (if we are to take Dumbledore’s word).
I think it's actually more heavily slanted in Dumbledore's favor. Sure, the Order of the Phoenix film shows Dumbledore fighting relatively on par with Voldemort, but in the book, it's far more one-sided. Dumbledore was casually blocking or deflecting Voldemort's spells. The only time Voldemort nearly got him was combining apparition and the killing curse only for Fawkes to swoop in and take the blast. All the while, Dumbledore was busy mocking Riddle's inability to accept the concept of a fate worse than death. Then keep in mind that Dumbledore declared he was ready to take on every one of Fudge's people and win again. Then consider a throwaway line from the book when he was confronted by Fudge, Umbridge, and two Aurors: "I have absolutely no intention of being sent to Azkaban. I could break out, of course -- but what a waste of time, and frankly, I can think of a whole host of things I would rather be doing.” And then consider the simple fact that he effortlessly broke into the Ministry. Even Harry noted that Dumbledore's presence meant that they were saved and this was before the old man even drew his wand out.
There's hardly anything to suggest that Dumbledore's more powerful than Voldemort as they fought to a stalemate while Dumbledore wielded the Elder wand. Dumbledore even consistently regarded Voldemort as his superior throughout the books.
Conor Stack Dumbledore did acknowledge that in terms of dark arts, Voldemort did possess considerable skill, but he also expressed that Voldemort was also woefully ignorant in other forms of magic. I don’t hold the Elder Wand to be any indication of Dumbledore’s power, it’s a powerful wand to be sure but consider that Dumbledore defeated Grindelwald who wielded the Elder Wand.

I don't care that Dumbledore had Fawkes under his control Fawkes as an external party was not related to Dumbledore's power This is not a debate between an Elderwand welding Albus plus fawkes vs Lord Voldemort This is a base dumbs vs base voldy debate Voldemort possesed Harry because Dumbledore used a 3rd party to spoil Voldemort's near perfect set up and because as a terrorist, he cannot wait till the Aurors come He knew Albus being the weaker wizard was stalling him Voldemort physically struggled against the water and then using his own power, simply Disapparates which is more than can be said for Albus needing fawkes to survive the curse Lord Voldemort almost Killed an Elderwand welding Albus Dumbledore in about 2 minutes into their duel if not for Fawkes despite being in a hurry to leave before the Entire Auror office arrived in an extremely Hostile location
@@Phoenix-King-ozai I would disagree. The fact that dumbledore has a connection to Fawkes means Fawkes isn't a external party. Also it is suggested the elder wands true power is rather dark magic. Dumbledore explains in the 7th book that he never utilized the Elder wands true potential. "I was fit to own the Elder Wand, and not to boast of it, and not to kill with it". I think the passage, especially since it was supposedly a gift from death, suggests the wands true power comes through its ability to kill people. In the Grindelwald vs Dumbledore duel, Dumbledore was only a shade more skillful. We also know neither were fighting to kill one another (Grindelwald imprisoned the people he defeated). Then Dumbledore wins the duel. It can't be coincidence that an Elder wand weilding Grindelwald lost a duel in a fight that would have been evenly matched when he didn't have the elder wand. More evidence is the only times we have seen the elder wands strength is in the legend where the elder brother kills a man he had a fight with and the second time is when Voldemort spell rebounded on him. In both cases the Wand kills someone. So in conclusion, Dumbledore never utilized the wands true ability and thus was the better duelist.
Definitely Dumbledore...Dumbledore knows and understands Dark Magic, but Voldemort is limited by his lack of understanding of other branches of magic. I remember in Book 5, the OWL examiner saying Dumbledore did things with a wand she'd never seen before. Also, Dumbledore was far more decorated as a student than anyone else that ever attended
The only " Magic" Voldemort doesn't understand is the ever so Corny " Love " Dumbledore himself declares that Voldemort's knowledge of magic is more Extensive than any wizard alive, considering Albus was alive at the moment, the answer is clear Tom riddle was quite and rarely drew attention Which is wise considering his plans for world Domination It was heavily implied that Albus was kind of a show off and was a teachers pet in his childhood, Not the saint he was later Dumbledore himself described Tom as Probably The Most Brilliant Student to ever Attend Hogwarts But i know you'll just dismiss these as Dumbledore being modest, which he really is not in situations like this, but you'll disagree Its all become so predictable

I interpret this duel in essentially the same way as I interpret Yoda vs Sidious. The dark side of the force & the dark side of magic both offer more inherent advantages in dueling, & yet, Dumbledore & Yoda both stalemated the most dangerous "dark" individuals of their times without even touching said darkness. Therefore, it makes sense to me to assume that Dumbledore & Yoda hold more raw power than that of their opponents.
It can be possible that Voldemort feared Dumbledore only because he thought that Dumbledore was more experienced wizard and had been practicing magic for a long time. "By which time I shall be gone, and you dead!” spat Voldemort. He sent another Killing Curse at Dumbledore but missed, instead hitting the security guards desk, which burst into flame. Dumbledore flicked his own wand. The force of the spell that em- anated from it was such that Harry, though shielded by his stone guard, felt his hair stand on end as it passed, and this time Voldemort was forced to conjure a shining silver shield out of thin air to deflect it. The spell, whatever it was, caused no visible damage to the shield, though a deep, gonglike note reverberated from it, an oddly chilling sound. . . . “You do not seek to kill me, Dumbledore?” called Voldemort, his scarlet eyes narrowed over the top of the shield. “Above such brutality, are you?” “We both know that there are other ways of destroying a man, Tom,” Dumbledore said calmly, continuing to walk toward Volde- mort as though he had not a fear in the world, as though nothing had happened to interrupt his stroll up the hall. “Merely taking your life would not satisfy me, I admit -” “There is nothing worse than death, Dumbledore!” snarled Voldemort. “You are quite wrong,” said Dumbledore, still closing in upon Voldemort and speaking as lightly as though they were discussing the matter over drinks." I disagree with how you read the MoM duel between Dumbledore and Voldemort. Voldemort was clearly dueling to kill so we can assume he is at his maximum. But I don't think Dumbledore was for a few reasons, first of all Dumbledore's true strength came from strategy, he was playing the long game which is why he ultimately won. He had no reason to attempt to kill Voldemort because he knew it wasn't possible, he may not have fully understand why and how he'd ultimately win, but from how he speaks in book 6 he had a pretty good idea by this stage and was just putting the final pieces together. Perhaps most importantly though I think Dumbledore was playing more to out Voldemort and make it harder for him and his followers to operate, he warns Voldemort that the aurors etc are on there way. Voldemort made a mistake by coming to the ministry and Dumbledore was taking advantage of it. It was clear that Dumbledore was exhibiting a lot of his power but considering the other flashes we get, for example the fire against the inferis. To me it's clear he had much more in the tank and should he of ever been around when Voldemort was killable I reckon we would of seen a whole other type of match up. On a slightly more depressing note. Though I really like Jude Law's portrayal of Dumbledore so far. I have a bad feeling that FB are going to give us a lot of Dumbledore fan service and that by the time they're finished we'll have a Dumbledore that is so insanely overpowered as to make this conversation no longer so much fun to have. Another great video, thank you!
Very well thought out and explained video. After what happened to his sister Dumbledore never trusted himself with power so I think we never saw his full capabilities.
Dumbledore’s goal was never to kill him tho. Plus even if Voldemort was mortal Dumbledore wouldn’t have killed him. He even admitted in the book that killing Voldemort wouldn’t satisfy him.
When dumbledore was fighting Voldemort he was protecting Harry so I think that if he can protect Harry and fight Voldemort at the same time I would call Dumbledore the greatest
Also, pinning Bellatrix on the floor like a little kid. Bella is one of the most powerful Death Eaters of Voldemort. And when the duel between Albus and Voldemort, Albus was mocking Voldemort in his face calling him Tom and saying he was a fool, and Albus just going forward to Voldemort like he has no fear in the world. And Dumbledore is talking CALMLY to the most feared dark wizard while defending, and almost drowning Voldemort in a water sphere.
Hmm I think you missed the point. Dumbledore himself said that Voldemort had pushed the boundaries of magic far beyond possibility but only of certain types of magic of others he remained woefully ignorant. This magic which voldemort called "love" terrified him because he was ignorant of the power this kind of magic can wield. And this magic was being studied as one of the forces (emotion as I like to call it) in the department of mysteries. So it is true that Dumbledore did not dwelve into the kind of magic that Voldemort did, but only because he already foresaw it's limitations. So even without the elder wand I don't think voldemort would be able to beat dumbledore. Dumbledore essentially was more all rounded wizard than voldemort. So ye Dumbledore with/without elder wand >>Voldemort with /without elder wand
The scene in which grinderwald reflects all those spells is simply beautiful, and when he casts that blue fire on the 2nd film is also incredibly ashtonishing, i believe hes a very strong wizard, i cant wait to see more of him in the upcoming films.
This was a very thorough breakdown. Although I disagree that Voldemort is more powerful. The point that seemed to push the narrative that Voldemort is more powerful is that Voldemort was able to go toe-to-toe with Dumbledore when he possessed the Elder Wand. I look to the battle with Dumbledore and Grindlewald to counter. At their supposed heights of power and Grindlewald wielding the Elder Wand, Dumbledore was able to defeat him. Dumbledore himself in the Deathly Hallows states that he was only “a shade more skillful” than Grindlewald. That, in my opinion, shows that the Elder Wand does not give anyone greater ability than they already have. If that were the case, then Grindlewald should have been able to defeat Dumbledore. So if Voldemort was more powerful he would have been able to defeat Dumbledore, or at least come out appearing that he had an edge. To be fair to Voldemort however, he did not have 3 hours to duel Dumbledore. Adding onto this, Dumbledore was not actively trying to defeat Dumbledore. Simply buying time till the Ministry officials arrived. In summary, I feel that Dumbledore is the more powerful of the two. This power comes from both innate skill with magic as well as a greater level of magical knowledge. A lot does come with 115 years of life as well as competing with Gellert Grindlewald.
ZYXPQI Dumbledore Grindelwald Voldemort Reason for Grindlewald being second. Is that Voldemort feared death. Which made him reckless. GWdisnt fear death and wanted the beat for all. Voldemort wanted genocide for muggles.
Mitchell Drake jk Rowling literally stated that Voldemort was the most powerful dark wizard of all time. U can’t argue against her as she is the author of everything. Therefore Voldemort>Grindelwald
Voldemort is obviously more powerful because of his bloodline but Dumbledore's intellect and experience allowed him to rival Voldemort and even subdue him
both voldemort and Albus are Half blood so i don't see any difference in Bloodline as Dumbledore is far more powerful than voldemort if there's no horcruxes than Dumbledore would have killed him
That is probably because he was aware of the horcruxes and the only way to stop Voldermort once and for all was to have harry to do it after sacrificing himself. On top of this Dumbledore was very modest, even if he thought he could beat Voldermort it wasn't in his nature to brag about it

Did you even read the books? The fight between Voldemort and Dumbledore inside ministry of magic did not look even close to its film depiction. Dubledore was just casually dodging Voldemorts full rage on attacks while holding Harry back.
Did YOU read the book ? Albus barely survived the fight because of his pet bird Despite having the Elderwand and fighting in a location which is extremely Hostile to Voldemort and Voldy having barely minutes before the ENTIRE Auror office arrived Just because Albus is not afraid to die doesn't mean he can do shit to Voldemort He never could, for 4 decades, even with an unbeatable wand, just like he couldn't lift the dada jinx, just like he couldn't cure the gaunt ring curse put by a 7th year Voldemort Just like he could never Fly, possess people, Enter a window slit like smoke, just like he was not the Greatest leglimens the world has ever seen Albus barely matched Voldemort with the Elderwand which he had since Voldemort's 7th year, 1945 That enough ? And he wasn't holding Harry back That's some grade A bullshit He bewitched multiple statues before the fight began which pushed Harry away from the fight and incapacitated bella Voldemort didn't even touch harry once Albus arrived
Yay a new video, I've missed them! I agree that Dumbledore is more powerful. Not only because of his exceptional wand work and spells but also for his kind and understanding heart. For someone to be compassionate to others it takes getting through pain/sadness and having empathy. Which is something Voldemort can't do. Fighting for others and not just yourself always gives an upper hand in a fight. Hope you continue putting out these great videos 👏🏼.
4:54 Not really. In the books, the fight was more one-sided, with Dumbledore slightly wiping the floor with Voldemort, while in the movies they alter it so that it seems more evenly matched because Dumbledore flooring Voldemort would probably be boring to watch.
The books gave us many indications that Dumbledore was weaker than Voldemort, literally saying it in almost every book indirectly in some way. Dumbledore just comes off smarter but still extremely close to Voldemorts power level. Other than everything said in the video I just wanna say this - Dumbledore won over Grindelwald while Grindelwald had the elder wand ( and it is stated that Dumbledore only just had the edge in the end if I remember correctly ) - Dumbledore and Voldemort were even, Dumbledore would have died in the ministry if it wasn't for Fawks which would mean Voldemort would have won at that moment probably ( Dumbledore had the elder wand ) - Voldemort is stated to be a lot stronger than Grindelwald and since Dumbledore and Grindelwald are stated to be pretty much even and Voldemort stated to be stronger than Grindelwald, already here we can almost go for "Voldemort being the strongest". Then it doesn't make sense IMO to take Toms reaction in the chamber of secrets into this as if I remember correctly, he is the young version with the skills he had at the time he made the book a Horcrux and from that point, to like 1998 I would say he's gotten a lot stronger so the reaction at that time is natural for him xD. ofc that version or at that time, Tom was not stronger than Dumbledore. But Voldemorts the strongest and Dumbledore the smartest.
I think it's a silly argument that Voldemort being afraid of Dumbledore is a bad way of saying that Dumbledore is stronger. Voldemort wasn't just powerful but intelligent, he wouldn't risk finding out who was stronger between the 2 of them in open combat. That's why he ultimately used subterfuge to kill him. And even if Voldemort was stronger than Dumbledore, it wasn't by all that much to make a victory for Voldemort completely onesided in his favor. Combine their relative power levels with the fact that Dumbledore was much more experienced abd knowledgeable then Morty amd you have a situation where power levels might not be the best indication of who would win, even if Voldemort had the higher one.
I think saying Dumbledore would have died if it wasn't for Fawkes is not true, that's like saying Voldemort would have lost if it wasn't for the shield he spent most of the duel hiding behind. Dumbledore had lots of different ways to defend himself eg he could've just disapparated. The fact that he was just walking straight up to Voldemort without a shield tells me that he had that fight under control and could easily handle anything Voldemort threw at him which he basically did. Voldemort on the other hand had trouble dealing with Dumbledore's spells and needed a shield. And he was actually shown struggling with the bubble of water he got trapped in which ended their fight more or less

Good video. I think Voldemort and Dumbledore were pretty even in power. Interestingly Dumbledore had avoided Dark Magic while Voldemort wholeheartedly embraced it. Both were Half-bloods. Dumbledore had a Muggle-born mother. His father could have been Half-blood or pureblood. In Rowling's universe the most powerful wizards seem to be Half-blood.
There's also the fact that during their duel, the book says.l, quite clearly, that while in the midst of the duel with Voldemort, Dumbledore made light conversation, and, Dumbledore, "continuing to walk toward Volde- mort as though he had not a fear in the world, as though nothing had happened to interrupt his stroll up the hall."
Sure, Dumbledore was not afraid of dying, which is well known even in the Very First book It is admirable and all that But What does that even prove ? If i am fearless of death, I ll make fine conversation with a Tiger too Doesn't mean i can actually beat it in a fight Just like Dumbledore didn't beat Voldemort in any way and almost died On its own, the statement is useless to guage who is more Powerful and is very misleading considering how the actual duel turned out to be
King I usually would, but in the case of Grindelwald there is SO much misinformation that it’s become endemic to the topic. You would trust a big channel like whatcutlure to do their research, but apparently they can’t. They literally did a list of most powerful wizards in Harry Potter and put Grindelwald above Voldemort, even though Voldemort is EXPLICITLY stated in the books as more powerful than Grindelwald.
@@SarastistheSerpent and has much better feats to boot It would be alright if Grindewald fans were like "Ohh Gellert Grindelwald is so cool and powerful I don't know about Voldy but Gellert Grindelwald seems more interesting" That would be cool But they say meaningless shit like " I am certain that Gellert Grindelwald is much more powerful than Voldemort and Voldy is only more evil, not powerful " From all accounts, Voldemort is much much more powerful than Gellert Grindelwald and has done so much more than any wizard, not just grindewald
Voldemort is far more powerful in dark magic but that is it. Dumbledore bypasses Voldemort with every thing else, these including light magic, all-round knowledge, Mentality, admit his mistakes, then learn from them. Composure, tactics, Accuracy, adaptable etc
Voldemort is afraid of Dumbledore because he is death himself or represents death. Voldemort’s only/ main fear is death and that’s why he tries to escape death (Dumbledore) by creating horcruxes. ~that’s my own theory, would love to discuss that :) have a great day
Probably Dumbledore but Voldemort is more dangerous/destructive Edit: Voldemort can also fly unaided, if he fully utilizes this in combat he is nigh unbeatable.
Short Answer: Dumbledore. PS: For those who only watched the movies, Dumbledore was nerfed in the battle against Voldemort in the Department of the Mysteries. I'll put some extracts from the books to support my point. ... Dumbledore not only fought Voldemort, but he was also pinning down Bellatrix Lestrange. Not to mention he was also protecting Harry. ... Voldemort raised his wand and sent another jet of green light at Dumbledore, who turned and was gone in a whirling of his cloak; next second he had reappeared behind Voldemort and waved his wand toward the remnants of the fountain; the other statues sprang to life too. The statue of the witch ran at Bellatrix, who screamed and sent spells streaming uselessly off its chest, before it dived at her, pinning her to the floor. ... Dumbledore never intended to finish Voldemort. He was simply stalling. This next extract will prove who had the upper hand in the battle. ... Dumbledore flicked his own wand. The force of the spell that emanated from it was such that Harry, though shielded by his stone guard, felt his hair stand on end as it passed, and this time Voldemort was forced to conjure a shining silver shield out of thin air to deflect it. The spell, whatever it was, caused no visible damage to the shield, though a deep, gonglike note reverberated from it, an oddly chilling sound. . . . *“You do not seek to kill me, Dumbledore?” called Voldemort,* his scarlet eyes narrowed over the top of the shield. *“We both know that there are other ways of destroying a man, Tom,”* Dumbledore said calmly, *continuing to walk toward Voldemort as though he had not a fear in the world, as though nothing had happened to interrupt his stroll up the hall.* “Merely taking your life would not satisfy me, I admit -” (Dumbledore very likely knew about the Horcruxes at this point. He knew Voldemort could not be fully killed until parts of his soul were destroyed.) “There is nothing worse than death, Dumbledore!” snarled Voldemort. “You are quite wrong,” said Dumbledore, still closing in upon Voldemort and speaking as lightly as though they were discussing the matter over drinks. *Harry felt scared to see him walking along, undefended, shieldless.* He wanted to cry out a warning, but his headless guard kept shunting him backward toward the wall, blocking his every attempt to get out from behind it. “Indeed, your failure to understand that there are things much worse than death has always been your greatest weakness -” ... I know most people have only seen the movies, but we simply cannot ignore what happened in the books since they're canon.
Voldemort acknowledged that Dumbledore wasn't trying to kill him, 'cause he noticed that he wasn't using the killing curse, but he didn't have to kill Voldemort to defeat him. Dumbledore could have used the statues he animated to protect Harry and Bellatrix against Voldemort, but he was only using the other statues as shields which Voldemort easily destroyed. Dumbledore and Voldemort were pretty evenly matched even while Dumbledore wielded the Elder wand. Dumbledore also needed Fawkes to save him from Voldemort's killing curse. For all that we know, Voldemort would have killed Dumbledore if Fawkes wasn't there.
@@CulturalMarxist4985 I always saw Fawkes sacrificing itself for Dumbledore as symbolic. Dumbledore could have easily apparated to safety, but Fawkes taking the Killing curse head on showed that Dumbledore had one thing Voldemort didn't, and that was the power of love. At that time, Dumbledore had probably guessed Voldemort had the Horcruxes, and he certainly knew about the prophecy, so he knew he wasn't the one to finish Voldemort. His goal was for the Ministry to acknowledge his return, in which he was successful.
The official canon ranking is: Dumbledore>Lord Voldemort>Grindelwald. Dumbledore was a tiny bit better than Voldemort, and Grindelwald was inferior to both of them.
Nissy92 Dumbledore is stated to be the most powerful wizard in modern history and of all time variously (stated in the books, Pottermore and the HP wiki). Lord Voldemort is stated as the most powerful dark wizard of all time (stated in the books, on Pottermore and the HP wiki) as well as the second not powerful wizard in history (stated on the HP wiki), and Grindelwald is stated, in the books and on the HP wiki as the second most dangerous and second most powerful dark wizard in history, after Voldemort.

@@xdlolik7910 And there are people like you. Its like that in HP where Dumbledore, Voldemort and even Grindelwald have their fans who think they are the strongest. 🙂
Dumbledore was easily always the more powerful because he gets a head starts. What I mean by that is that he uses things that even a muggle can use before even beginning to use magic. The saying work smarter not harder. He took to the extreme. His ability to predict the where events were leading and what he needed to do to be proactive in making sure he steered the out come to be able to benifet his plan. That was his greatest strength. Now for people who read this and think yeah but we are talking like in a duel. The this still does apply, take the order of the Phoenix fight Voldemort uses the killing curse to try and kill dumbledore. Dumbledore expected this to be an attack he would make and was ready for it. He was able to block the attack. Many of different time did Dumbledore door not only expect somebody to act one way and prepared for. Helping to give the edge. One being his death, another being Harry’s death. Unlike Voldemort who would rise to power and yet still make the same mistake allowing himself becoming rash and power hungry making. As well as putting all his chips on what a seer say will happen instead of creating his on future by living and planning his actions to counter and attack base on what the order did.
The thing I love about Albus is he’s good everywhere, there is not an area where he’s weak. A master of all trades if you will. And his use of apparition during a fight is on another level, his evasive magic is top tier, defensive magic is top tier , offensive magic is top tier, transfiguration magic is second to none, and on top of all this his wit and sharp mind makes him probably the best wizard of his age, with none after him surpassing him, or with any hope of getting close. Dumbledores best trait that he has over Voldemort is he lacks arrogance, and embraces his nobility, this ensures that he is able to remain in control of himself and the situations he’s in, unlike Voldemort who becomes infuriated in battle, and if not that, is arrogant and cocky, and if you will, can sometimes become a bit delusional about what he’d able to accomplish, dumbledore accepts everything for what it is, whereas Voldemort can only admit to himself what he wishes to perceive as his reality, dumbledore knows how to control his magical prowess down to the smallest fraction, Voldemort does not, looking at purely the movie feats of each dark lord, Grinderwalds magic was far more impressive and versatile and dumbledore bested him, while grinderwald was in possession of the elder wand, a relic that was considered to be crafted by death himself. To me the answer is clear… also any confrontation between dumbledore and grinderwald see them as sort of equals, whereas in the books, dumbledore professors voldemorts no nose having ass.
The fight at the Ministry was the biggest proof that Dumbledore was way stronger than Voldemort. Sure, he had the Elder Wand, but he was also multi-tasking like crazy in that fight. As he was holding off Voldemort, he was also protecting Harry from shards of shattered glass, and preventing him from entering the fight, and had transfigured/bewitched one of the statues to go to Fudge's house and bring him to the ministry to prove that Voldemort had returned. He was able to do all this while trading blow for blow with Voldy, negate dark magic, hold Voldy in a water bubble, etc. All this by an old man who was well past his prime.
Jewish MegaPower Dumbledore only died to help keep snape undercover. Plus save the life’s of snape and draco. They both would have died due to the unbreakable vow. So basically Dumbledore died for the greater good. He knew what was going to happen and set everything in place for Harry to succeed and fulfill prophecy
Well, logically, Dumbledore's more powerful because although both of them were magical proteges, Dumbledore's the one with more experience. He was older than Voldemort and also treated the reality the way it is (his hard childhood and teenage, I mean) and not just brood over useless things, like a Muggle father.
But, even that being said, Voldemort can be more powerful because Voldemort acquired almost the same power in 71 years as Dumbledore did in almost 120 years
Tom Riddle was stronger/more powerful, he could keep pace with Dumbledore, spell for spell even while Dumbledore had the ELDER WAND & more yrs under his belt to study magic. That says soooo much. Imagine Tom vs Dumbledore with out the ELDER WAND & having the same amount of yrs under their belts to study magic. Tom at around 70 yrs old give or take was as strong as an 100+ yrs old man who had the Wand of legend.
@@user-sg3uq1iv8q he hit the nail on the head even with the elder wand in dumbledors hand voldemort was pushing him tf back, without the elderwand Voldmeort would have crushed him
Dumbledore thought that Riddle splitting his soul into pieces weakened the latter. But the idea that Dumbledore wasn’t spiritually wounded (if not sundered) by having to defeat the man he loved for the greater good is, I think, not picking up some of the subtleties that Rowling was putting down. Dumbledore was also broken, just in a different way.
Raw power: Tom Riddle is at the top Wisdom: Dumbledore is at the top Dumbledore knew he wouldn't be able to take out Tom Riddle on his own, that's why he elaborated such a plan, in which he had to sacrifice several fellow wizards and even himself to take down Voldie.
When hairy asked Dumbledore if" he knew then sir, and Dumbledore said "did I know then ? That I was meeting the most powerful wizard in history? Kinda tells you how Dumbledore felt about this argument
Well...Dumbledore did in one of the Books Say that Voldemort was better than him as a Student. I agree that they are pretty much on par with Voldemort slightly edging him out in raw power. Next, I'll say that Dumbledore did have the power of love and Trust...something Voldemort knew nothing about, and it's also stated Love is the strongest magic in the Harry potter Verse. Dumbledore has that over Voldemort, also he has the Elder wand. Then, there is the fact that Dumbledore was like 116 or something when he died, while Voldemort was 70-71 that is a big difference there. Had Voldemort embarrassed love and Didn't see it as a Weakness he would be a lot more powerful then he was. With everything taken into factor... I pretty much agree with the Voldemort>Dumbledore.
Voldemort looked like he had the upper hand in the books. Dumbledore had to use Fawkes to absorb the killing spell of Voldemort's attack which is saying something. But Dumbledore was holding back as well as he was, and I quote by Voldemort, "Above such brutality" meaning he wasnt immediately fighting to end the fight as soon as possible. Also at the end of the day, Dumbledore had the elder wand
Before i watch the video I'll say this. It was pretty much a stalemate, neither had the advantage over the other in their duel however i feel like Voldemort with a prolonged fight would take the advantage since he's younger and has immensely powerful dark spells. Prime Dumbledore would win though(I believe Grindlewald would beat Voldemort as well). Take the horcruxes out of the equation and Voldemort would lose either by his own arrogance or by being out witted
Honestly, if Voldemort didn't make his Horcruxes, he would be a lot better. Tom Riddle was a lot more cunning and had a sharper mind. He invented new spells, like flying unassisted. It was his Horcruxes that made him a lot more emotionally unstable. I honestly think if the fight prolonged and Voldemort wasn't getting his way in the fight, he would become frustrated and angry and leave an opening for Dumbledore, who was always calm and collective. Funny enough, Voldemort's obsession of immortality was his downfall to become great lol.
@@CulturalMarxist4985 he's an old man and though he is gifted he's only a man, thats why i think Dumbledore would have lost eventually, he's not augmented by dark magic and Voldemort had the edge especially if remember Harry being their made Dumbledore have to defend him to. It would only make sense for Dumbledore to have simply been more experienced and magically knowledgeable against Voldemort than he was against Grindelwald. He also had the Elder wand against Voldemort.
Voldemort feared Dumbledore ever since the latter first saw the former out in the orphanage. Dumbledore must've known about TR's possible outcome and wanted to intervene at the time, albeit subtly, but just enough to strike some fear
More powerful magical forces (destiny) stopped Dumbledore from killing Voldemort. He knew this from the prophecy. Dumbledore's mastery of occulemcy also stopped Voldenort's mind reading, giving him an edge most of Voldemort's opponents don't: the element of surprise.
Dumbledore with the Elder Wand was unable to win on Vold. Vold is more powerful in term of energy that him imprint in one spell, btw Vold is blind on other things.
I think you actually forget that he was also keeping an eye on harry while battling with voldemort. Having to save him multiple times. Without Harry, Dumbledore would have wiped the floor with Voldemort.
Bjarne de Graaf yep and he didnt use power of elder wand. Since no one even noticed he had it giving a clear sign he never used it only protected the wand itself
@@slurp3194 and the fact that the wand (in the books) didn't obey him because he didn't won it faire and square also played a part, therefore he couldn't use the full power. honestly this video is full om some major flaws and Dumbledore would' ve ruined Voldemort is pushed came to shove, it's just a shame he put on that damn horcrux ring
I think they are even, maybe Dumbledore is slightly stronger but Voldemont has the edge because he is willing to use the dark arts. Which Dumbledore wont do.
He was even with an Elderwand welding Albus Dumbledore plus fawkes Which means base Voldemort is more powerful And dark magic is just magic used for malicious purpose Its not "Extra powerful" or something
Prime Voldemort would beat Prime Dumbledore Both with elder wants and remove the restriction of the wands ability “cannot be defeated in a duel” or w/e it is, Voldemort was a tad bit more powerful. Dumbledore was probably the more skilled duelist. But we’re not talking about who is the more skilled duelist. We’re talking about who is the more powerful wizard. Like if they had to use a spelled to carry heavy amounts of water over a far distance without dropping it, Voldemort would be able to to travel further and carry more water. That’s how I determine more powerful.
While Dumbledore had a much greater knowledge of spells and the functions of magic he had the elder wand the entire time. 1v1 with their original wands Voldemort would win in a duel. However this article makes a good point, if Dumbledore were evil he would be by far the strongest
The way i see it Grindelwald is on their lvl too just because Dumbledore beat him even he was fighting opponent with the elder wand doesn't mean that much simply for one thing elder wand will choose one with greater thirst for power Voldemort had the elder wand still he couldn't defeat Dumbledore outright perfect video as always thnx
You have to take in account the fact that Dumbledore is much older than Tom, therefore, he has a much more vast knowledge and practice over magic in general than Tom. Still, Tom fought Albus in the ministry as an equal without having the Elder Wand. So Tom is probably stronger
sacoto98 if dumbledore truly wanted too he would’ve killed or in this case destroy his body due to the horcruxes if he wanted too but there was no point cause he would return again
@@randyokungu1222 furthermore, if he destroyed Tom's body, he would be harder to find after the remaining horcruxes were destroyed, thus the final death would likely have been more difficult
Things changed for Albus post Ariana's death. Had Albus and Grindenwald just continued there quest for power in dark magic, Volde would have been no where near these two. However Grindenwald got arrested and Albus changed for good. Volde's sense of security came from the fact that he had multiple parts of his soul secured in objects but as we know Dumbledore and lots of other able wizards and witches had info and even knew how to make horcruxes. Albus also had books in his personal collection at Hogwards as to how to make Horcruxes which Hermoine takes later with her. So however this realization that Albus had as too what happens to one who pursues dark magic beyond a certain level I mean how one looses themselves in anger and hatred is deadly. So Albus wisely never pursued dark magic post Ariana's death. But both he and Gridenwald were more than capable of easily obtaining dark magic beyond what even Volde did.
After he almost Killed an Elderwand welding Albus Dumbledore in about 2 minutes into their duel if not for his pet bird which saved his ass in the last possible second ? And he " Fled" maybe, just maybe because the Aurors came and Voldemort being the most wanted terrorist was fighting Dumbs in the fucking ministry of magic ? comparable to bin laden fighting the secret service in the white house You expect him to just stay there and handle both an Elderwand welding Albus Dumbledore and the Entire Auror office don't you ? Ha. For comparison purposes, think of it like this. Tom is Vegeta after receiving the Zenkai from being healed (Dende). Albus is Freeza...luring Vegeta into a false sense of security and then finally letting the poor sap know: "This isn't even my final form".
I think that Voldy was clearly stronger and Dumblledore while on par with him couldnt have survived without elder wand. While yes, Voldy would make more use of dark magic, it speaks more to his nature than capability at their level. Like yes Dumbledore wont use Avada Kedavra, but if he doesnt, does it really make Voldy any safer? or is Voldy any more of a threat to Dumbledore than normal because of killing curse? I think Voldemort was stronger in magical capabilities, more creative/cruel, and better duelist. Dumbledore was just more experienced and better strategist. He used Voldemort's own curses against him and Voldy never saw it coming
Well, I guess on that Dumbledore/Voldemort/Grindelwald-level it's more a question of strategy and tactics - and Dumbledore showed his mastership (and profound knowledge of human nature including Voldemort) the whole time, including being in ruthless enough to sacrifice Harry. Voldemort is ruthless and incredibly powerful - but he isn't able to understand the WHOLE human nature, so THIS is Dumbledore's advantage. 😉
Dumbledore vs Voldemort and dumbledore had the elder wand and failed to hold him .He was with 13% part of his soul super exhausted and with a wand later that wasn't obeying him.. Dumbledore said him himself the strongest dark WIZARD and also he said if Voldemort return in his full power not even his strongest charm WOULD stop him
@Philip Arvanitidis Not really. 1. Dumbledore said in book one "Voldemort had powers I will never have." Then he also said " I knew that Voldemort’s knowledge of magic is perhaps more extensive than any wizard alive. I knew that even my most complex and powerful protective spells and charms were unlikely to be invincible if he ever returned to full power." 2. I know a lot of people with come up with whatever with this one but idc, because I don't see why it shouldn't make sense. If Dumbledore was stronger, he could have defeated Voldemort when he rose to power, he could have stopped him anytime after Voldemort returned if he was more powerful than him even if the prophecy is there, just saying. People be overrating Dumbledore asf now 3. Going by power scaling, Voldemort wins, Dumbledore is smart and we see that after his death with the overall plan and we know that Dumbledore was a genius at a young age etc but not more powerful. It is stated that Dumbledore was evenly matched with Grindelwald power-wise and only just had the edge over him ( Ofc Grindelwald had the elder wand ) It is stated that Voldemort is more powerful than Grindelwald throughout the books and he went toe to toe with Dumbledore who had the elder wand at the time and Dumbledore would have lost and died if it wasn't for Fawks coming in with a clutch save meaning that Voldemort did overpower Dumbledore but Fawks came in and then the fight went back to being even again. Imagine if Dumbledore didn't have the elder wand and if Fawks wasn't there to save him, then what? He would definitely have lost and if the fight was gonna keep going, probably would have lost in the long run 2. I don't see how that is not literally saying who the most powerful one is.
@@kasperhansen7854 Dumbledore knew well highly suspected Voldmort had horcruxes somewhere at the time so knew killing him would not kill him but put him back in the state like he was when he first 'died' just further delaying Voldemorts return again. There's a reason Dumbldore was the only person Voldemort ever feared that statement alone should tell you who's more powerful.
They were both highly intelligent and had a sort of innate power but I would argue that Dumbledore was also incredibly wise, whereas Voldemort had very little wisdom. All of Dumbledore’s speeches about the power of love and goodness weren’t just empty words. He had learned a hard lesson in his youth which showed him how powerful love really is. And having known both Tom Riddle and Harry Potter since they were very young, he saw two orphans dealt a crappy hand in life and yet Riddle chose evil whereas Harry was a very loving, loyal person despite all of the hardships he endured. Only Dumbledore had the information and wisdom needed to help defeat Voldemort and he passed it onto Harry. Part of Dumbledore’s power was that those loyal to him did so because of love, not fear which is quite the opposite of the death eaters’ relationship to Voldemort.

Dumbledore is definitely powerful enough to rival the Dark lord when weilding the Elderwand
But power is not why Lord Voldemort is wary of Dumbledore
Its because of his cunning, his ability to see through his bullshit and his potential to discover the Dark lord's most dreaded secret, Horcruxes
In raw power, Lord Voldemort is the Greatest
I would definetly bet on Dumbledore; in his prime years
In his prime years? He was even more powerful and far more experienced when he was duelling Voldemort, than when he duelled Grindelwald. Dumbledore would have killed Voldemort if he intended to. Not technically killed, he would have destroyed his body because he can't be killed because of horcruxes. Which is why Dumbledore did not intend to kill him because he knew he would not be around when and if Voldemort returned again. Dumbledore did not want to take the risk. Even Voldemort knew that and he told Dumbledore, "you are not trying to kill me Dumbledore"
Voldemort was all about raw power and dark magic.
Voldemort had powers I will never have."
Professor McGonagall said, "because you are too-well-noble to use them".

TRUE !

3) Voldemort never attacked Hogwarts in an open fight before Dumbledore's death.
Lol, Voldy almost Killed an Elderwand welding Albus in 2 minutes
Get out of here
I think it's actually more heavily slanted in Dumbledore's favor.
@@wilji1090 Dumbledore's ability to defeat Grindelwald while he wielded the Elder wand shows how powerful he was, just like Voldemort's ability to stalemate Dumbledore even while he wielded the Elder wand shows how powerful he was.

Fawkes as an external party was not related to Dumbledore's power
This is not a debate between an Elderwand welding Albus plus fawkes vs Lord Voldemort

Voldemort possesed Harry because Dumbledore used a 3rd party to spoil Voldemort's near perfect set up and because as a terrorist, he cannot wait till the Aurors come
He knew Albus being the weaker wizard was stalling him
Voldemort physically struggled against the water and then using his own power, simply Disapparates which is more than can be said for Albus needing fawkes to survive the curse
Lord Voldemort almost Killed an Elderwand welding Albus Dumbledore in about 2 minutes into their duel if not for Fawkes despite being in a hurry to leave before the Entire Auror office arrived in an extremely Hostile location
Dumbledore gay 😂😂
Definitely Dumbledore...Dumbledore knows and understands Dark Magic, but Voldemort is limited by his lack of understanding of other branches of magic. Which is wise considering his plans for world Domination
It was heavily implied that Albus was kind of a show off and was a teachers pet in his childhood, Not the saint he was later

I disagree with how you read the MoM duel between Dumbledore and Voldemort.

Yeah
They did a good job casting Johnny depp
He's a cool character

That is probably because he was aware of the horcruxes and the only way to stop Voldermort once and for all was to have harry to do it after sacrificing himself. On top of this Dumbledore was very modest, even if he thought he could beat Voldermort it wasn't in his nature to brag about it

4:44 notice the eye on voldemort dress
4:54 Not really. In the books, the fight was more one-sided, with Dumbledore slightly wiping the floor with Voldemort, while in the movies they alter it so that it seems more evenly matched because Dumbledore flooring Voldemort would probably be boring to watch.
Dukbledore and Voldemort have the exact same relationship as Darth Sidious and Yoda
Your intro music somehow makes me very sad. It's beautiful
The books gave us many indications that Dumbledore was weaker than Voldemort, literally saying it in almost every book indirectly in some way. Dumbledore just comes off smarter but still extremely close to Voldemorts power level. Other than everything said in the video I just wanna say this
- Dumbledore won over Grindelwald while Grindelwald had the elder wand ( and it is stated that Dumbledore only just had the edge in the end if I remember correctly )
- Dumbledore and Voldemort were even, Dumbledore would have died in the ministry if it wasn't for Fawks which would mean Voldemort would have won at that moment probably ( Dumbledore had the elder wand )
- Voldemort is stated to be a lot stronger than Grindelwald and since Dumbledore and Grindelwald are stated to be pretty much even and Voldemort stated to be stronger than Grindelwald, already here we can almost go for "Voldemort being the strongest".

*“We both know that there are other ways of destroying a man, Tom,”* Dumbledore said calmly, *continuing to walk toward Voldemort as though he had not a fear in the world, as though nothing had happened to interrupt his stroll up the hall.* “Merely taking your life would not satisfy me, I admit -”
(Dumbledore very likely knew about the Horcruxes at this point. He knew Voldemort could not be fully killed until parts of his soul were destroyed.)
“There is nothing worse than death, Dumbledore!” snarled Voldemort.
“Indeed, your failure to understand that there are things much worse than death has always been your greatest weakness -”
...
The official canon ranking is:
Dumbledore>Lord Voldemort>Grindelwald.
Dumbledore was a tiny bit better than Voldemort, and Grindelwald was inferior to both of them.
Sarasti S where does this ‘official canon ranking’ come from? I do agree with you but where is it out right stated that that’s the correct order

Prime Dumbledore (without Elderwand)>Prime Voldemort
Prime Dumbledore is Dumbledore with the elder wand.
To me the answer is clear… also any confrontation between dumbledore and grinderwald see them as sort of equals, whereas in the books, dumbledore professors voldemorts no nose having ass.
ok but dont forget that cave scene... when dumbledore was at his weakest...

But Dumbledor was killed on top of astronomy tower, which could by classified as high ground.
Dumbledore was also broken, just in a different way.
Raw power: Tom Riddle is at the top
Wisdom: Dumbledore is at the top
Dumbledore knew he wouldn't be able to take out Tom Riddle on his own, that's why he elaborated such a plan, in which he had to sacrifice several fellow wizards and even himself to take down Voldie.

Everyone is missing the only reason this is a fight is that tom had a horcruxs if he could have been killed it would be over in minutes.
How does that work? You obviously don't have to kill someone to defeat them.

Thank you. Saved me the whole video.

Dumbledore is more powerful
Gandalf is more powerful than voldemort
I think they are even, maybe Dumbledore is slightly stronger but Voldemont has the edge because he is willing to use the dark arts. Which Dumbledore wont do.
He was even with an Elderwand welding Albus Dumbledore plus fawkes
Which means base Voldemort is more powerful
And dark magic is just magic used for malicious purpose
Its not "Extra powerful" or something
Prime Voldemort would beat Prime Dumbledore
Both with elder wants and remove the restriction of the wands ability “cannot be defeated in a duel” or w/e it is, Voldemort was a tad bit more powerful.
That goes to show how powerful Dumbledore is, voldy couldn't beat him even with the upper hand.
Again, I think that the main factor is the extra boost that the elder wand gives.
I think you mixed them up buddy
You have to take in account the fact that Dumbledore is much older than Tom, therefore, he has a much more vast knowledge and practice over magic in general than Tom. Still, Tom fought Albus in the ministry as an equal without having the Elder Wand. So Tom is probably stronger
Tom wanted to kill, Albus didn't.
sacoto98 if dumbledore truly wanted too he would’ve killed or in this case destroy his body due to the horcruxes if he wanted too but there was no point cause he would return again
Voldemort fled from Dumbledore in duel. There is no need for a discussion.
Add the order into the mix and he would have been dead is seconds
@@chronic_spot Not in seconds but battling Dumbledore with help is something you really dont wanna do.
After he almost Killed an Elderwand welding Albus Dumbledore in about 2 minutes into their duel if not for his pet bird which saved his ass in the last possible second ?
And he " Fled" maybe, just maybe because the Aurors came and Voldemort being the most wanted terrorist was fighting Dumbs in the fucking ministry of magic ? comparable to bin laden fighting the secret service in the white house
You expect him to just stay there and handle both an Elderwand welding Albus Dumbledore and the Entire Auror office don't you ?
Funny thing is, Even if he did just that you Dumbledore fans would have found some other bullshit excuse to talk down Voldemort and glorify your old guy, wouldn't you ?
I love how incredibly Biased some Albus fans are
@@Phoenix-King-ozai he lost. Stop being desperate. He had no chance from the beginning against a 0 killing intent dumbledore
@@ivankaramazov7375 Before discussing with me
Why don't you read a goddamn book pal
What business do i have discussing with someone who just watches the new fantastic beasts movies and thinks he now knows about Harry potter
You grindewald fanboys are the desperate ones
Ha.
For comparison purposes, think of it like this.
Tom is Vegeta after receiving the Zenkai from being healed (Dende).
Albus is Freeza...luring Vegeta into a false sense of security and then finally letting the poor sap know:
"This isn't even my final form".
I think Voldemort Is Stronger.
@@goldenhd9656 i don't speak canon.i speak for the movies only
Dumbledore vs Voldemort and dumbledore had the elder wand and failed to hold him .He was with 13% part of his soul super exhausted and with a wand later that wasn't obeying him.. Dumbledore said him himself the strongest dark WIZARD and also he said if Voldemort return in his full power not even his strongest charm WOULD stop him
@@goldenhd9656 what lul, The books are implying that Voldemort is stronger and pretty much also shown it. XD
@Philip Arvanitidis Not really.
1. Dumbledore said in book one "Voldemort had powers I will never have." Then he also said " I knew that Voldemort’s knowledge of magic is perhaps more extensive than any wizard alive. I knew that even my most complex and powerful protective spells and charms were unlikely to be invincible if he ever returned to full power."
2. People be overrating Dumbledore asf now
3. Going by power scaling, Voldemort wins, Dumbledore is smart and we see that after his death with the overall plan and we know that Dumbledore was a genius at a young age etc but not more powerful.
It is stated that Dumbledore was evenly matched with Grindelwald power-wise and only just had the edge over him ( Ofc Grindelwald had the elder wand )
It is stated that Voldemort is more powerful than Grindelwald throughout the books and he went toe to toe with Dumbledore who had the elder wand at the time and Dumbledore would have lost and died if it wasn't for Fawks coming in with a clutch save meaning that Voldemort did overpower Dumbledore but Fawks came in and then the fight went back to being even again.
If Dumbledore wanted to kill him I'm sure he could've and if Voldemort didn't have his horcruxes he probally never would've fought Dumbledore.
