A Tiny House for under $800!! Could you live in it?

- I was walking thru Costco.mindimg my own business when a tiny house practically jumped out and grabbed me. (slight exaggeration...🤣) It was actually a shed but I immediately saw the potential for a cheap option for a tiny home that a solo senior nomad could put up quickly on a piece of land. It was certainly bigger inside than a minivan conversion and could fit just about anywhere. It beat camping in a tent by a mile!! The best part is it was on sale for only $799. My mind immediately started imagining a DIY project and where everything from the bed to the miniature kitchen and toilet could go. What do you think? Have I lost it or could this be a home for someone, at least temporarily. Let me know in the comments what you think and any design ideas you might have
😮😮 IT'S TINY BUT, IT'S BETTER THAN SLEEPING ON THE SIDE WALK
Sure is!!
Government can't tax it. Lord forbid, there is no taxes. I could live in it. They will not allow it. Not enough taxes.
Maybe eventually Stick Two , Or Four Together, & 2" Foam Walls & an interior Door That's AirTight

At 799, I'd get two. Put one facing the other with a 6-10 foot gap between. I'd build a common room in that space to connect the two. I'd use the common space for the kitchen/sitting area, one shed for the bedroom and one shed for the bath and laundry area. Take out the metal vents and fill that space with a patterned glass. You'd definitely need to spray foam for comfort.
I love this ideal and now just need those 2 acres of land for a business, and 1 acre to help those who cannot help themselves.
Some good ideas. But you have to have ventilation.
I was thinking the same thing😅
2 is a great idea!!
@@gailresources3970 - Rooftop solar would take care of that.
Years ago, when my marriage collapsed, I went to live at my sisters place ,in what used to be ,her daughter's play house. Just room for a single bed and drawers for my clothes.. I was really comfortable there.
You are a living legend of tiny homes!!! I would love to talk to you. Do come on my Live this Saturday at 3pm pst.😊
I've often thought that one of those kid's playhouses could easily be made comfortable for one person. I once saw a kid's playhouse that was made to look like a medieval castle. I saved a picture of it on my phone and would tell my friends it was my retirement cottage, lol!

How did you handle bathroom needs
My dad bricked up the fireplace in the sweet 1938 Cape Cod he & mom bought in '75.
He installed a three foot cast iron wood burning workhorse of a stove. Then he partnered w a small tree cutting family business after his shifts on the LIRR.
Each summer, he'd build a small clubhouse for me out of branches, using thicker ones for the frame and overlay it with plastic then intertwine greener branches (like a little hut).
He sloped the roof like a lean-to but it has four sides. He lined the bottom w heavy duty trash bag split open then covered it with a piece of outdoor rug.
Each one was about 4x4. I'm 4'11" so I've always been "vertically challenged" but the size was perfect for me to have my little tea parties and read my Nancy Drew mysteries by flashlight. He let me have a lantern flashlight that took one of the huge square batteries and it lit it right up.
He built them for me from 2nd through 6 the grade. That was the last year because there was an invasion of Gypsy moth caterpillars that found the perfect breeding ground in my little moist dark hut! It was a wrap for me after that!
I'm 54 now & I simply love remembering the fun...before they came!🤣🥰
I stayed in a 7'x7' resin shed in my daughter's house for 5 months. I loved it. I told everyone that it was my She Shead. But, It was home sweet home. Because i was near my family and I was very comfortable. I could so, live in that Cosco Shed. Thanks for sharing. Thumbs up and love from S. California.
🎉❤🙏🙂you’re awesome

I am going to have to have a Southern Cali.meetup!!
Great idea for older senior women to live close to family like in their backyard you still have your space and there's no danger if you get sick family is close by if there's a bad storm family is close by, it's very dangerous out in the streets for older single women to risk their lives living in a van driving around trying to find a safe spot to park overnight.
@@1952June Would love that, I'd even pay for the small legal ADU! My family either loves their privacy or has HOA and yard with no privacy. It seems there are many older women living in vans successfully on YT.
My late husband had dementia with Sundowners. We were staying at my brothers then, but dementia nighttime disturbances were causing a problem. So I got an 8x10 shed, insulated & paneled, installed AC furniture TV & coffee corner, we slept & hung out together very comfortably in “Colin’s Cabana”. And no more family sleep problems. 👍🏻❤️
I would do it if i could find land I could afford! There are so many alternatives ❤️ I looked at one that had a front porch and entrance and back entrance with big front window and windows on the side, no loft and could easily be built out! It was $9,999.
Wow. You do what you have to for those you love.
There is land for pretty cheap in Arizona. But it does usually need work clearing, making driveway, etc.
Surprisingly “Stuckramento” county is now allowing ADUs in backyards now Requirements of course but things are loosening up all over it seems. 👍🤞
❤
You are not crazy. You are thinking outside the box. This is what our community needs people thinking outside the box. Thanks for keeping an open mind.
Hopefully we can get some folks in elected office who will start thinking outside the box!!
No pun intended?
She is just thinking inside the box about the box as well as thinking outside the box.
Exactly with hight cost of housing and the homeless crisis, there are alternative solutions.I feel that the imagination and creativity comes in to play.I would buy like 3 of them and connect somehow to make a home .
I would rather join together two of them.
I truly could live in it , JUST ONE THING....... I need 2 of them. 😊
That's what I would do, 🤔👍
Yep!!
Exactly my thought . Affordable.
It would be a blessing for someone who needed shelter and their own space!
😂😂😂yes
Great! Now let's grab 20 acres somewhere..buy it together so people have somewhere to put them. 🤓
I'm down with that😊
Don't I wish.
That's exactly what I want. All we need is Social Security and a bunch of people to share the payments.
The local authorities would shut that idea down. I think something similar has been tried in more than one state. It’s a shame that there would be trouble. No fire hazard….. reinforced to not collapse in wind…. Managing gray and black water….hmmmm
@@jelkhorncamper6062Just things to be solved that’s all. Lots of creative minds out here.
Several cities are using very similar size sheds as tiny houses to help combat homelessness. They're just big enough to put in a twin size bed and some shelves. Making an A/C inlet wouldn't be too hard. Solar on the roof and even small RV sized windows on either of the side walls to let in natural light - So do-able!
Why more communities aren't doing this is mind blowing.
I saw communities with this size tiny quarters in Portland to house homeless. They had outside showers.
Yes, given how little time most if us spend in the bathroom on average, I bet you could set up central areas with single person stall like shower rooms and toilets. Also shared laundry areas. You could put quite a few units on an acre or two.
City and county building and fire codes need to be checked before putting up a tiny shed before making it liveable even on a plot of bare land. Good thoughts...just be safe.
I could live in this. So many ideas for this.
Fears of crime. Neighborhood devaluation. Fear of people with mental illnesses. Trash!
I like what the other person said. Buy two of them and put them together. That way you will have more room. Now that would be a tiny house.
better than an RV. a bed, a recliner and a table with a chair is all one needs. and a full belly and warmth.
Better than a cardboard mat on the sidewalk, or a tent.
Absolutely!!
Now that's what I call, 'thinking outside the box'. People are doing similar projects with sea containers.
But those are much larger
I live those containers. They are practically indestructible!
Or thinking INSIDE the box! 😂
@@gloriouslifeonwheels3621 Just ordered a container yesterday. It will be placed on my off grid property. Can’t wait for it to arrive.
When I was younger I built a 8 x 10 shed. I loved living in that
Yes I could live in that, add all the things I need. Plenty of space 👍🏽👍🏽
It really could be comfy.
😂
Maybe this could be a little guest cottage out in a backyard. Add a window, remove the outside handles (wouldn't want some prankster locking you in), add some warm paneling inside with a daybed or a futon, a small rug, a vase of flowers, and some small scale landscaping outside. Could transform this little shed into something real cute❤!
Love that shed it could certainly be a tiny house. I could live in it.
Put a window in, line /insulate it.
Room for shelves upto the roof!
Draws under a bed and shelving above.
Endless ideas really.
Put it on a trailer, tiny house on wheels!
At that price you could buy x2 and put them together, great idea yes I could live in it
I was thinking the same thing
I would buy two of them and connect them. Carve out some windows and hook it up inside. Yes, it could definitely work!
That's what I was thinking.
Yes, could be done. Not close vents, but add bug screen to the inside of them. Yes!!
Yep. That's a better idea.
You'd probably need a way to block them when the rain blows that way or the temperature drops. But, yeah, fit them with screens.
You don’t want it airtight inside because then you have condensation and mold.
Yes I could live in there and make it very comfortable , beats being homeless
Yes it does!!
You can always add on✨😊✨
You can get all kind of these sheds but having a legal property and meeting code enforcement if applicable is the biggest hurdle. Where they don't have codes, there's probably no services. Good luck!
@@debb4099 yep, in comparison we have it pretty good don't we?
You are right on there! I called my city manager about doing this and he told me it was against city code. What a scam! I own my home but only sorta? I don't get to have a liveable building in my own back yard? Whatever.
@@lesliebooth2833The government is over controlling and restrictive. They would rather see people with nothing.
3 together, 1 bedroom/lounge, 2 bathroom, and 3 kitchenette.
It's a great idea, as a temporary Tiny Home that could help someone get back on their feet after 3 years of staying in it. It would give them enough time to get a job, save for a car, then find a house or apartment.
I am glad I am not the only person who "oohs" and "ah's" over these and sees them as liveable. So many people laugh at me and roll their eyes. Those gaps can be used to brace shelves if the right brackets can be found or designed. We have one that is similar and I was surprised at how waterproof it is. Also- - LOVED your pose! How bold! It's something I've done.
Great find ! I think there’s so many ways to have a place to live if we’re willing to think outside the box, no pun intended lol 😂
True that!!
If you can construct two of those together, it would be the ultimate house.😊
I was at Costco a month ago - came accross the same model. First thought "Tiny Home"!!
Great minds...🤣
It's a beautiful house, very cozy, I can see it work totally 😍 I'd live in it right away! 💖💕💕💕
The problem is, where could you legally put it? I could definitely live there.
Camouflage it in woods somewhere ....
Dry cabin 👍 it would work more people than you would think have been doing this for many years 💞
I think so too
I wouldn't be able to live in it, but I do like it as a shed though.
I considered putting that in my daughter's back yard in the forest in Crescent City, CA. 😁❤
If you do I want to do a tour of it🤣
Great idea!!! Yes, I think this is a wonderful answer for many people! Amazing price!!!
Absolutely, maybe on a small homestead!!
OMG!!! Carol you have just solved my dilemma! I own a sticks and bricks but it needs alot of work. But Im too old and physically challenged to work anymore and on a fixed retirement income I have nothing to use to fix it up. So I have been devouring van life videos thinking I might move into my vehicle and rent out the house, use the rent to do some repairs (for about a year), then move back in! But because I am physically challenged I wasn’t sure I could maneuver around in a vehicle. But THIS???!!! I can do this!! It is even more room than the vans I have seen!! I can park in my own backyard, have a window unit AC/heater installed (Texas heat!) and run electricity and water to it!! Literally exactly what I need!!! Another issue I was having living in a vehicle was crazy stormy weather but bc I would be in the back yard of my own home, I would make it a thing for the renters to let me inside in tornado warnings! Bada bing bada boom! Add those magnetic screen “doors” for nice weather ventilation. Thank you SO much! OK, update!! I went to Wayfair Clearance page and am I reading it wrong? I found a TON of LARGE sheds for $99!!! Is that wrong, is it a scam? How can that be???
Wow. $99 sounds too good to be true. But if it were true I'd grab it. Sounds like a shed like this could work for you in your backyard. I also love Tuff Sheds, but they are more expensive. Do keep me.posted on what.you do. I may want to come out and tour your little shed house😊
A mini split for ac/heat would be perfect 👍
One other thing is, these are very hard to put together. I did get one half price from Home Depot that was assembled and had to have a big box truck deliver it and that was a real bear too. I also have a Toughshed and the guy barely got it on the side of my house by half an inch. so look into these things when getting sheds. I have moved around all my life, but moving sheds is a real bear.
Maybe $99 is the monthly payment if you buy it on credit(?)
@@deb7518 You may be right about this, but I tried to go back to that website and it was gone!! I think it was a scam!! It LOOKED like a Wayfair logo and all, but I think it was a scam! I went to the ACTUAL Wayfair site and there was NOTHING on there like I first saw!! The only shed they had was a small one for several hundred dollars! Yep, either a scam like you said, or a down payment.
I’m a “window person”; I would HAVE to have (screened) windows, even if they’re small!! It would also need some sort of foundation because of moisture being trapped underneath; treated lumber (like on a deck), enclosed around the bottom, with several vents. Also, stronger doors with more secure locks inside and out. It’s cheap enough to “make it Yours”!! [How about a “village” in an area where restrictions aren’t so bad, if there is such a place?!!].
Good thoughts on foundation, windows and doors.
I was thinking the same.
It beats the street
Sure does!
Great idea up front but everyone skips the elephant in the room. Who's property are you going to place it on? Will your city allow it? How about utilities? Will your town allow for off grid? Some things to consider.
Those are certainly serious challenges. Slowly by slowly due to a dire shortage of affordable housing in many areas city governments are approving tiny houses. It is still not the norm though.
Hi Carol
Hope you are having a good day today. Great idea Carol. You must always think out of the box, so to speak.
You are most certainly NOT loosing your mind. This would be perfect for a remote property on a dirt cheap plot of land if you wanted to live off grid. My spouse recently purchased a queen sized air mattress with an internal pump which inflates by plugging it into the 300 watt inverter we power through our vehicle cigarette lighter (which should fit inside). You’re definitely onto something good. 😇
It certainly beats the tents cities are using for homeless that I bet cost a whole lot more.
God bless the child that has his own.
My mom used to say that all thr time!
I know it's virtually impossible for many if not most today, but that's why my generation and most before us were adamant about buying property FIRST thing. We got married at the court house for a few bucks and spent our $ on the downpayment for a house. I was also taught that the worst thing that you could do was to enter retirement carrying any sort of debt. Supposedly the average couple nowadays spends around $15K on a wedding. To me that's just insane, bc I know where I'd be otherwise. Debt is slavery.
Carol greetings from Denver, Co. I have one like that in my backyard we've gotten high winds this this past couple of years even though it was locked the wind blew the door open and tore a piece off . My other shed is made out of wood and held up good
thanks, so wood it is
Good to know! Thx.
My FIL built his LMH (lawn mower home🤣) by hand when they relocated to GA from NY in '93.
Family members helped him get it up (like a barn raising 😊). It's about 10x10.
My MIL made curtains for the window. It's survived 2 hurricanes and decades of 100° by 10am summer weather and freeze snaps as well.
He decorates it to look like a gingerbread house during the holidays.
All he'd need to do is insulate...and move the lawnmower out and voila! Tiny home!
@@kimberlyc84 But...but....then the lawnmower would be homeless! (LOL 😄)
Cute but I'd rather find a wooden or steel one on Marketplace or Craigslist
That would definitely work too.
I find that it is made of composite resin a plus. No need for paint, it won't rust, or rot.
So many options. I would look around so you get the one you really love although I get why you’d want the one with a steel frame. I feel this work as far as being comfortable. I would live in that space. The problem will be the building authorities clamping down on property owners for allowing and forcing you out. Although I also feel like somethings Gotta give. We just have to push our way into this way of living just like in San Diego then passing that RV living law on the streets. We all really need to push this because none of these authority figures have any answers for the impossible circumstances for many people in these times That we’re living in right now.
I'd use blue insulation sheets instead of spray foam. I'd also figure out a way to open and close those vents as required.
One problem with those sources, however: honesty and security. Estimates of the scams on Marketplace run up to half, and with something that big you could be forced to inspect it in an unsafe space. At least with Costco you're pretty safe.
Yep, I could definitely use this as a tiny home. Great idea! 👍
I got one of these for my goats as a goat house a few years back. Of course you can insulate it. It’ll take a bit of work and more money I didn’t. during the day when the goats weren’t in there. It was hot as hell. At night it was OK. i installed a couple tiny windows also. in the winter, it was cold as hell but the goats didn’t mind. It held up remarkably well until one spring storm and a tree dropped a limb on it. It hit straight in the middle of the roof and exploded all the panels exactly straight out in every direction.
It was not repairable, but I used the parts for another decade a ton of other projects. It was definitely worth the money.
You Rock! Keep thinking. People like you will always be part of the solution.
Insulate, add a couple of windows and it is perfect. People just need a safe place to sleep. That's it!
In a mild climate, it would work like camping or a camper van.
There's no way I could live in this tiny home .
But I have seen some bigger then others that I may can live in .
My daughter just the other day suggested me living in a tiny home .
I told her to put me one in her HUGEEE back yard.
But , beats the streets ! 😊
🤷♀️
I would rather have an ADU prefabricated and on cement instead of this shed. I could not live in an aluminum small shed.
The "barn doors" are not wind, or rain, or snow, or critter proof. However, in a milder climate it might be okay, If the walls are plastic, it wouldn't hold up well to a stove or fireplace. It would be a great "she" shed the way it is. You can get electricity out to it. Like the last reader said, "better than sleeping on a sidewalk".
Very good idea, yes I can live in it, easy to clean and affordable.
Shed houses are being used but usually larger. However for us van dwellers it is huge! I know I certainly could make a beautiful home of it (if I had land to put it on.) How useful that would be... Along with a veggie garden and fruit trees and berry bushes. Very doable. The foam is what I would use and maybe have a couple cross wind small windows. Thanks again. Blessings!
I, personally, wouldn't use foam as these panels shift a tiny bit. (We have one.) I'd use an air conditioner-type foam rubber gasket. 🤷♀️
Speaking of crosswind windows, also helps if you make one higher than the other. Then there's more active ventilation created passively.
Now there’s tiny, but this is micro tiny!
Yep🤣
It would make a great MIL suite. That lady is adorable 😊
🥰🥰🥰
If you don’t have a place to live, I can see this working and if you don’t have children. But would need a warm climate I would think and still need a place to put it. I wish there was not such a housing crisis for folks.
Sadly I see the housing crisis getting worse as rents continues ue to soar.
They make tongue and groove combination insulation/outside paneling. That way you dont loose interior space. Being so small, heat or cooling easy.
I absolutely could & would LOVE to live in that cute tiny house!♥️❤️💖🩷
Yes I think that you could live in it just make sure that you do not put it under any trees❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Definitely put some pallets on the floor then a sheet or two of plywood , then a rug. Absolutely, that’s the first thing I thought of when these first came out.
As long as I could eat, sleep comfortably, have a bathroom area and shower, cook, and plug in my sewing machine, I could certainly live in that she-shed. 👍🏻
Me too. I can quilt and live comfortably.
Awesome 👍🎉🙂 it’s a great idea and maybe friends or family would be willing to let you put it in their yard.
Friends and family often desert you in times of need
@@jnazziseor they would charge lot rent.
I thought the same thing, going inside and picturing a tiny home!
Now days lots of people work at home, it could use as an office!
I certainly could live in it if this was my only option versus being homeless on the street. It could become a very cute and cozy home for someone who needs it or for a true minimalist! All it needs is some tender loving care!
Call the Gov of Calif! It is better than living in a car or van.Better than a tent! on the street!
I should call him. I bet the tents in some of the government sponsored camps cost a tens of times more than this!!
I get the idea of using a shed as a tiny home... but I would be reluctant to use one made of plastic. It's not secure, you would lose space insulating it for cold weather, and it would probably off-gas in extreme heat. Try a garden shed instead for a few hundred more (occasionally a few hundred less).
You guys have inspired me to get on the road!!! I haven't figured out my logistics yet, but I stood inside that shed the other day, and said to dh "LOOK!!! LET'S PUT IT ON WHEELS!!!🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍 Hand-to-God!!!🤣🤣🤣👍🥰👍
It would be hidden and someone would think you have it on a trailer to take it home.
Lol
Yes I agree !! A Tiny house , I would love to live in a Tiny Home !! Maybe you can purchase 4:05 2 and built it a bit larger !!
Years ago, I wanted a tiny home, but had no place to put one. Now my tiny home is one wheels!😁
I could definitely live in such a space and deck it out to be cozy, comfy, and practical. I’d leave the vents to prevent any kind of mold or mildew, but I would at least put screens behind them to prevent bugs. There are similar storage sheds at Home Depot, and I know in Arkansas and other states there are companies that build “sheds” that look like proper homes! They still need all the inside stuff done, though.
It is certainly doable. I would need to cut two windows in it as I love light. Wonder if it would be strong enough to allow that. Lots of people living in vans which are smaller. Need a good climate for this, though. I love how you are always on the outlook for good ideas.
If.you only knew how many ideas go thru my mind on a daily basis. Feels like the freeway🤣🤣🤣
That model comes in a choice of colors. ❤
Even better!!
I’d get two, one for bed bath and closet, the other would be for home living spaces kitchen etc
Perfect Carol.....perfect. We don't need big....perfect size, perfect price. And what more perfect is you can dress it up and add whatever additional living needs we made need. I think the builder knew that would become a tiny home..the way it's designed. How thoughtful!! Love it!❤❤❤
Cute idea but would building codes allow it. Then if there is a neighborhood troublemaker they could cause trouble with the code dept.
There is always one in the bunch!!
I 🥰 it !! I sure would love in it. Thanks for sharing 😊
If this shed will make you happy, then get it! Its a great tiny home for you to settle in.
Yes i could def see myself living in one , its very neat. 👍🏾🙂
SO NICE...LET'S PUT ALL THE BELONGINGS OF OUR 82 YEAR FRIEND IN ONE 1. THINK OF THE $ SAVED. CAROL I REMEMBER YOU SAYING I HATE TO SPEND ALL THE $ ON STORAGE FEES...OH MY GOSH ITS THE FIRST THING I THOUGHT OF WATCHING THIS MAGNIFICENT TINY HOME! SO MANY POSSIBILITIES ❤! Now we need the land! Like her papa said in 'GONE WITH THE WIND ' SCARLETT THERE'S NOTHING MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE LAND. THANKS TEDDY
❤ Scarlett's grasping of the earth of Tara! Yeah, baby!
Yes better than sleeping on the street. I would like a window fitted for light and view. Good luck.
That seems like a good price. Around here in my corner of NY wooden sheds are ridiculously expensive now. I have a 10x14 Amish made wooden shed, and I’ve planned how I could live in it comfortably if push came to shove.
I hear you! I'm continually decluttering and downsizing but rents continue to go up. As a disabled senior on a fixed income, I'm thinking about moving into my Amish-built teardrop camper.
Those Amish-made products are solid!
I can remember visiting my mom's small hometown in the deep south, and seeing the small homes there, they were 4 room houses , and my mom came from a family of 6. Today most of our homes are too big, so I can see how this tiny house could be suitable for one person.
If i had the opportunity to build/live with a sound community inspired by those, i would be so happy🎉! And yes, it's plenty of space for a person of sustainability and simplicity. I personally know, as my husband and i have turned our actual 6x12 two wheel trailer into an amazing tiny home while we figure out the hard times. We already owned it, and used it to store our construction work materials for years, and when the time came, it was a no brainer and a blessing!!! It was still like new when we cleared everything out. I now get to sleep on a hammock, which has been a blessing for my back. We're working on being able to buy a Jeep to replace our Ford flex to pull it, and praying for land for peace and self sustainability, away from everything. That shed is plenty for the right mindset and spirit!! ❤🎉
To everyone working toward their peace away from the chaos, may the Lord's Grace and Blessings reach you❤.
It is freeing when you discover how little you really jeed to be content. I wish you blessings on your continued journey toward finding your land.
I lived in a studio apartment for a couple of years. The only thing I didn't like was that it was located in an apartment complex surrounded by hundreds of other people, some of which were not very considerate. Otherwise it was like living in a mancave full time. I loved it.
Never say never! Depends on how much you can feel comfortable without a whole lotta stuff and what’s really important to you. My husband passed away a couple yrs ago & I want something different…I’m realizing how much stuff I actually do not need. Depending on what you think is important I believe it could be done…may not be easy at first but I’m pretty sure I could do it….or would love to give it a shot! I’m 72 but luckily even though I do have fibromyalgia & arthritis & osteoarthritis I get along very good…s little stiff a lot of times but keep on movin’! Best of luck to you!
My condolences on the loss of your husband. I th8nk such a loss can often cause one to reevaluate their life ajd consider changes. I think tiny home villages are quite interesting and seem to foster a sense of community. I would live to live in one myself.
The rent on the land can sometimes be extremely expensive. Check your local area,
Gloria, I would insulate with Rockwool, since foam/foam spray might out-gas toxins. Or, with volunteers, why not build a very durable home with Earth bags? *Cal-Earth teaches building techniques using Earth/soil.* Look for: Cal-Earth's Sustainable Architecture Artbound KCET
I would build an indoor Rocket Mass Heater for heating an earthen bench, plus to cook on!
A plastic shed is not good. It will crack over time with Sun exposure and plastic can out-gas. So pricey per sq. foot.
Hay, you do understand that there are carcinogens in that kind of plastic. These accumulate and do not ass away.
Add a covered deck and the miniest of minisplits and I would be game! You could close in the deck with outdoor drapes that could be tied back for airflow or let down for privacy. You could even have an outdoor kitchen and living area. You can do wonders with reclaimed wood, pallet wood, and things from Habitat for Humanity and thrift and dollar stores! Just some thoughts.
I could live in that.❤
Great idea. I love the idea but I would get two and have a closed in walk through connect the two. I would have insulation, windows, heating system, flooring, water and electrical outlets. I would want a small kitchenette with apartment size appliances, stackable washer/dryer and bathroom with walk in shower. If the roof is not strong enough to handle the weather long term, I would look into having support added. Sounds great but it needs to be structurally strong to do this. But…..great idea.❤
I've seen sheds that I thought that it might work as a little house, at least for a while. This one looks like the siding material might not be to sturdy. I live in Fl and some man made material doesn't hold up in the sun & heat.
There is SO MUCH you could do with that, the possibilities are endless!
I would love to have one on some land, out in the country somewhere!
Me too! Tired of renting and sorry landlord won,t fix any thing.
It's not so crazy anymore. I thought about finding a small one to put inside my garage, live in it during the week and then live in my house 2 days a week to save $. Nowadays most people are going to have to think outside the box to survive.
You would be surprised at some of the tiny house communities I saw in Portland. Those places were possibly smaller than this shed!
I have a 10x12 shed and it is quite roomy. I am still fixing it up and considering living in it. First thing I did was make a 10x10 zen garden entry with a couple stones, a chair, 3' enclosure, and one pretty deer grass tussock. It sits at the edge of my raised garden beds in the back yard.
I could live in your 7x7. Watch nomads in vehicles, they can be great..
I just added a tiny round Korean hibachi and wok to use outside this summer. There is room for a table outside the entry garden under a couple hundred year old pinyon pine, I see me hand quilting at that table.
It is like having a playhouse.
I saw the same one at my Costco and instantly thought "TINY HOME"! I always see small storage places and vans think can I live inside there? And I answer myself FOR SURE! 👍
When I saw that at Costco, I thought the exact same thing. I would remove a vent to run an extension cord for electric and a water hose for water. Then I would creat a flap to regulate the other vent. I see this as a man cave, a she shed, or a tiny home. The possibilities are endless.
If you ever do one I get dibs on doing a tour🤣
Yes, add a bigger window and as long as I can stretch completly for a comfort sleep. This would do the job as a timy house. With a bit of fantasy it could be a nice home, too for a single person. Solar on the roof, a small one pot rice cooker plus gas stove option. Blessings
Yep. Those ideas would definitely work.
I admire you for doing so much work for us folks out here! I do worry because it's plastic and he dioxins fill the space and that's what your breathing I sell natural bedding, and this kind of thing scares me a little bit. Maybe we can talk about it.
You raise some valid issues and certainly worth looking into.
