Ben, new sub. Great info. I just ordered a pair of MD Hearing. I am 70 yr old, with no medical or physical issues, still working every day. In good shape. I have been avoiding using hearing aids, but...... it really is necessary. Now, your info gave me more idea what I am doing, and I am more comfortable with using them. Thank you.
I'm looking at these specific hearing aids for my elderly father in Assisted Living because of the price. I am now rethinking that decision and my wait until I can have my father seen by an audiologist. P.S. I myself do wear hearing aids and have gone through the testing and fitting of a licensed audiologist office but that is a harder option for my dad so I'm perplexed if I just bite the bullet and buy him these MD Volt+ hearing aids for $500 on Amazon.
UPDATE: My dad's Medicare Advantage Plan has a Hearing Aid plan where I can have him get tested and fitted for free, and basic hearing aids would only cost $600/pair. Those would include the audiologist adjustments as well as making sure the settings are what they need to be. This is what we are doing in the near future.
I have the "Air" model. Been using it for years. None of the concerns brought up are a problem. I don't know what the "Volt" model has going for it, but the Air is quite adequate.
Got a beep on rt h.a. Nothing on left 1. They appear dead & I did as your video suggested. Its frustrating please help. I hate 2 think this was all 4 nothing.
Hey Dr.Thompson, Thank for you review. If I understand well, It is not possible to adjust the amplification intensity to a certain frequency range, does this mean that the programming is constant, does everyone have a hearing loss in a different way and therefore the above device is general, and not customized.
Yes! I've done extensive research (as I wear hearing aids and looking for a cheap pair for my dad). These are basically amplification and not able to adjust the different frequencies. That's why "real" hearing aids cost thousands -- you are paying for the technology to adjust the different frequencies.
These hearing aids are terrible, they are amplifiers not hearing aids. If you turn them past 2 they squeal. I bought them for my mom, they lasted less than 3 weeks. Do not buy them, they suck! I give them a -5 on a 1-5 scale.
Purchased from Walmart. Website said returnable 45 days and could be returned directly to Walmart. When package arrives you get a notice that in order to return you must call md volt and get RMA , a return authorization or be charged 20% , $120. Well after holding for 21 minutes 3 times, I was hung up on each time at exactly 21minutes. You’re told if you press option 2 you don’t need to wait and will receive a call back from md volt. I did this twice, the first time being over 24 hours ago and still no call back. I emailed Walmart and thru a chat with their representative was told that I would get a full refund upon return. I returned because one of the hearing aids stopped working altogether. I too k screenshots to record how long I waited on the calls that I chose to wait for an md representative. I hope that I do get a full re from Walmart but won’t be superseded if it is minus $ 120. So , it appears that you can’t. Get a full refund, or probably no refund if purchased from other than Walmart! I took a screenshot of the Walmart chat whereby the agent said I would get a full refund. Walmart, have an employee call md volt if you doubt my story. Als o, quit selling merchandise from this non-reputable company. Up yours md volt! I hope I’ve stopped someone from making the mistake of the”free trial”

Hey Dr. Orson, thank you for your comment. Glad to know you're hearing well. That's all that matters!
I thought the Volt model was the rechargeable version.
My Starkeys whistle if you put your hand close to your ear. I think they all have that feedback problem.
Some whistle worse than others!
You provided very little information on the hearing aid, such as, what technology is it using, how many channels
