I am driving the top level of P series. Already traveled 1500km, nothing to complain. Leather seat is comfy, feels good. Infortainment system is full of latest technology, 360degree camera makes parking lots easier Just like playing a toy. Full electric adjustment and heated for front two seats. When your speed is over 15km/h, it locks all doors. Very satisfied with this car.

I feel the tester is biased. The car is great, drives fantastic, has all the bells and whistles but he feels it lacks something. Experience??? How can you feel that in a drive. Its his personal opinion and he should have qualified it as such.

I agree with you 100%. We are dropping 2 Hilux's and getting in their place the GWM P Series cars in the 4x4 LT trim. Amazing cars. The only off-roading I do is travelling to undeveloped plots or farmlands. And if normal sedans can get to those places too, trust me. You don't need to worry about a vehicle built for off-roading to have issues with it.

I completely understand what the presenter means. The GWM has an unrefined ride. Feels like youre driving a sprig off road. Compared to the ranger or amarok. a lot of development has gone into the rangers over past gens and learning from mistakes has resulted in a much better ride. Chassis is just tuned better.

GWM is more than 10 years in SA with various improved models than extinct brands you are comparing with. At this price margin and hightech spec, I believe GWM P Series will sustain the automobile market and threaten the bigger brands. It may be true that the after sale service is not yet known especially after the warranty of 5 years which in Australia is 7 years elapses. I believe GWM P Series will have enough spare parts to service their cars under warranty especially with the market price this affordable. Im foreseeing a storm of sales and out of stock as it has currently start in Australia especially with some colour choices getting becoming out of stock. And soon one might need to buy the passanger D Cab that is no longer at the price it use to be with a price hike due to demand. I owned a Ford Ranger XLT2021 for only six days, compring the technology in the GWM P Series and after test driving with all spec and performance I opted myself to own a GWM P Series LT. If Haval is one of the popular brand in SA, then GWM P Series has the potential. Allow us to test this market for you, we will come back and update for sure without hiding any dot of the good and the bad.

Those were all ugly vehicles, trying to be look alike quantums. Had no additional features to justify people switching, the ingwe and inyathi for example had awful seating arrangement & was hated by clients etc. Quantums are not only taxis but they're highly used by hospitality industries and deliveries

If I cannot afford a new Toyota there is still things to be kept in mind. After sale service and spares availability, every scrap yard has spares for the guy that really make his work horse work. Confidence only come after high mileage reviews. I have never bought a new car because after you leave the showroom its second hand, I service my secondhand on factory prescribed intervals. Some after 20 years they are still going strong and you get a fair amount for them. Get home on time.
