Dog Food Enrichment For Beginners

Food enrichment for dogs: LEVEL 1. It has become super popular to give your dog's food in enrichment toys, and that's great!
However, all dogs are different and unfortunately, fearful dogs, rescue dogs, or insecure dogs may have a difficult time if you offer their food in an over-the-top complicated puzzle when they are not motivated enough to eat.
It was the case with Ellie, as she was completely ignoring Kongs the first time we gave her one, so we had to rethink how to give it to her. For some dogs like her, it can take A LOT of time, of encouragement and of patience to get them interested by that enrichment.
Follow our steps for an easy, and beginner friendly Kong enrichment. Then, slowly increase the difficulty by adding 1) canned food mixed with the kibble, 2) putting peanut butter on top of the Kong's hole, 3) freezing the whole thing overnight! And always praise, praise, praise your dog when he succeeds at eating every last bit of food!!!
