In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.

didn’t know what to expect when first seeing sam, but he’s gotta be one of my favourites of all time. “are you a child of divorce?” is still one of the funniest lines ever on taskmaster
But only after having confirmed first that, yes, he could ask questions.
Every season there is one comedian I've never heard of in my life who ends up becoming my favorite. Sam was this season, then you've got Ed Gamble, John Kearns, Fern Brady (Okay, so two that season), etc.
Sam's dedication to wearing grey in each episode just to say "It was all getting a bit grey" in episode 10 was too good
The gray area
Is that an idiom or something? I just thought it was a goofy weird thing to do.
@@Narokkuraiikr, very goofy and weird. Extremely out of character for someone like Sam.
Honestly, I never noticed his clothes. I thought he was just talking about his hair.
He wanted to wear white but couldn't because of production and said he was happy with the grey in the end.
I had forgotten how amazing this season was, each contestant was fully unhinged in a very specific and unique way and yet they all matched so well with each other
It was such a good season!
That whole series was unhinged in the best ways.
It's a serious contender for the best series IMO or, at least, but group of guests. I think S7 is still ahead, but this one isn't far behind.
One of my favorite moments of Sam’s was during a prize task where he just told a random story about airplanes just because everyone was telling a story, but it had nothing to do with the task
Theres a youtube short of this moment and irs amazing
COBALT!
yeah I was waiting the whole video for that one, sad it didn’t make the cut
Usually, winning the series comes at the expense of being entertaining. It's less fun to watch people win than their abject failures, but Sam's one of the few contestants that I could see as being the highlight of their series while also coming out on top. Then again, 16 was so stacked that anyone could be the highlight. Love this guy.
Yes, I feel like that's why he's often compared to Bob, he was scored so highly because Greg was on board with his nonsense in subjective tasks
It was such a dramatic change compared to Mae who was just dull the whole way through. I’ve always wanted an all losers season as the antithesis to champion of champions because the losers of the seasons are often the funniest. I’d die for a season with Roisin, Ivo, Lucy, Joe Wilkinson and Victoria Coren Mitchell as the cast.
@@thomasthomasson2319 interestingly I was looking at Jack Bernhardt's objective VS subjective contestant scores earlier and Sam actually did the second worst in subjective tasks this series, with Sue being not only the best in the series, but the sixth-best of all time; however, that's countered by the fact she is tied with David Baddiel for the worst objective score of all time.
Then again I maintain Morgana was extremely overscored and she also didn't have that high of a score in subjective tasks 😅
@@KyIieMinogue while it's established Loser of Losers will never happen, I agree, COC III seemed like it was going to be pretty disappointing, I think Kiell subbing in for Mae helped a lot.
Also, I heard Alex Horne fancies you, and Greg likes your hot antipodean breath on his belly button.
The fact this doesn't even include "cobalt!" and "dynamite chicks" and the roomba task... y'know, every second of Sam Campbell is his Greatest Moment.
Don't forget the "Post-it Note Painting' task. He rendition of 'THE SCREAM' was amazing and incredible (according to other contestants)!
“Cobalt!” while halfway standing up, followed by the anecdote of the flight path statue is just top notch TV
Sam remembering watching Julian on aussie TV as a kid was very sweet
Only for Julian to remark totally deadpan that it was “not one of his career highlights” 💀💀💀
Well, _Hey Hey It’s Saturday_ was rubbish, and I watched it for years from 1971 until I moved out of home in 1985.
Sam was beyond any doubt, my favorite contestant on Taskmaster. What a quick witted guy. Watching him break down during the driving task was so hilarious.
"Woooooaaaaahhhh, how deep does this go???" one of my fav Sam quotes
Series 16 was was the perfect Taskmaster series, change my mind.
Sam stirred up everything about TM and its conventions like no other contestant if you ask me.
Also, if you watch the series again, watch how Sam eventually disarms everyone and releases the most genuine laugh out of everyone on the show at least once.
He is a magic little gremlin
@@NessaK1981 ... from space!
Sam easily one of my favourite contestants. Like a young Australian Bob Mortimer. Somewhat unhinged but hilarious 😂
He is imperfect perfection ❤
Sam seems to relax more and more every episode, as if he dares to be himself more and more. He seems to be a really clever guy with a huge heart, just lovely.
"Are you a child of divorce?" Died laughing at that part
I'm dumb, I didn't really understand 😂
@@KatieRuby It's the combination of the fact that it's a non-sequitur - knowing whether or not Greg's parents are together has no impact on how heavy the boot is - and the fact that it's a weirdly personal question. Not a reference to anything in particular, just a bit of Sam Being Charmingly Weird
@@Bobberation haha okay good, I thought i was missing a reference 😂💖
Sam's synaptic network is basically the many SpongeBobs running around and everything's on fire, but instead of absolute panic, everyone's just having a good time.
alex's reaction when sam said "of equal weight" tells me he sincerely wishes he had thought of that in developing that task, and the *shock* on his face for that brief moment it looked like sam was right.
And I think Sam should have had extra points when he was right given that Alex didn't expect it
I love this series! Time to rewatch in its entirety. Thank you, Taskmaster, for that privilege!!
Weekend plans sorted 😅
Nooo, this is missing "Skateboard division" and the prize task where they all tell stories. :(
Cobalt!
I love how he didn’t spend his time well on vacation and it haunts him
I'm of the opinion that series 16 is the absolute peak of Taskmaster, and any future series can only be second to it at best. Sam is part of why
The specific delivery of, "I've got that bucket... liiiiiined with sandpaper. Filled, to the BRIM! With matches, and fire alarms," gets me every time
Everybody's talking about this guy!
"Smoking kills....weaklings" -the great Dr Cigarette 😂
Who's Sam Campbell? I only see Doctor Cigarettes here.
Smoking kills... WEAKLINGS!
24 minutes 12 seconds better be EVERY Sam appearance in the series. He was absolutely brilliant and I think the archetype of what you want in a Taskmaster contestant. Sam Campbell and James Acaster.
“Are you a child of divorce?”
“My eyes are circles.”
i know this is about Sam but 17:04 is one of my favorite moments on Taskmaster. Lucy goes through a whole face journey after Julian’s joke.
surely there has to be a part 2 of his best moments
best contestant ever
one of the best
@YVogelbekdier Let people live, oh my GOD
Sam was easily my favourite taskmaster contestant, hes unhinged in the right ways 😂
Sam and James Acaster need to be on a panel show together
Did you listen to Sam's episode of Off Menu?
@@strngmgc no I tried to find it there and can't see it:(
@@seandunne1820 It's there, try to search for his name on the podcast page and you'll see it, it was a live episode. Lucy Beaumont's Off Menu episode was also great, it was also live and came out around the same time as his, they both came out a bit after the series ended. Unfortunately YT doesn't allow links 😬
@@strngmgc No, link?
This video could be two hours long and still not include all his best bits. What a star.
Thank you taskmaster channel we NEED more Sam!!!!!!!
Need more Sam? He is on House Of Games all next week!! 🎉
The next Champion of Champions episode is going to be something special when John Robins and Sam Campbell go up against each other (and the other 3 Champions)!
I think Jack Dee would be a good foil for them out of s18!
@@KatieRuby Agreed!
I’m feeling Rosie Jones.
@@AdjectiveOtter agreed
I sort of wish the S18 champion would be Rosie, so that their brand of loony can be a contrast to John Robins' straightlaced persona !
That group was really great. I loved Sam Campbell.
I've said it once and I'll say it again. I want Sam as a contestant on every episode.
One of the best series.... And "are you a child of divorce" lives rent free in my head...
I don't have a "favorite" contestant every season, but I do develop a crush on someone every season, and even though I'm a straight man, Sam was mine for series 16. The man was a gold mine of fun, and I'll be utterly delighted when he comes back for Champion of Champions.
0:08 This look is everything 😂😂
Love Sam and his energy 😂❤
He was such a good companion to Julians quiet disdsin. Loved this series.
Hes the best. "Are you a child of divorce" 😂 he might be my favourite contestant ever!
Where was the 'Post-it Note Painting' task? Seeing his rendition of THE SCREAM was quite memorable!
I can't wait to see him back on CoC
The best audience noise in Taskmaster history at 23:40
i been WAITIN for this one
Sam is a comedy mad genius and I am here for it!
This video.
I'm beneath it.
It's missing the I'M UNDERNEATH IT madness!!!
What about him openly dissing the rubbish robots task? That's basically a go-to now for every subpar task that happens.
Taskmaster's had so many great contestants through the years, but Sam's probably my favorite series winner.
Sam Campbell is like the lovechild of Bob Mortimer and a skateboard.
It's about time! Sam is my absolute favorite out of all series!
I love how he says “mice”
mIIIIcCCEEEee
sam was one of the greatest contestants ever
Absolute GOAT of the show. And I'd never even heard of him before he came on it.
i think he may now be my favourite contestant of all time
We need a part 2
instant tm icon. we need part 2!
cobalt!
@@bugbear2357 that was one of my favorite moments. I'm surprised it's not in the video!
The Taskmaster team know what we want to see.
Sam’s face when they introduced Susan’s Mischief, was like, “no way”😳
The fact that their first driving lesson is teaching them red means go, yellow means beep your horn and carry on and green means wait 3 seconds then go makes me fear for England's traffic safety if these two ever do get licenses
TMs most adorable boy
I can't wait for "Julian Clary's Greatest Moments." Of course I expect it to be very long.
24 minutes, that's it?!?!
God, I love him 😂
He seems like so much fun.
This season was IT, definitely best of the recent ones
Absolute legend.
Sam is cute. I've nothing else really to add to the conversation.
Sam is fucking HOT.
My all time favorite TM contestant
I love how one of his best moments is in another persons task attempt
Especially because Sam's actual attempt at that task was terrible lol
Release every series
The best contestant of all time imo
love sam so much 🤣
I truly respect Julian's sarcasm...
lol the moment they realized the thing was rigged. "You utter shit!"
Lint! this one
Eternal Champion!!!
The only champ we will ever need ❤
"COBALT!"
What a beautiful child of the sun
Isn't he perfection in the flesh??
Awesome video.
my favorite ever. sam rocks so hard
When I first saw Sam (on this show) I didn't like him. I thought the guy looks like Christopher Walken, he's all grey, he's weird and I rarely see him smile.
Now I absolutely LOVE ALL of his stuff!!!
In an unscripted random world, Sam rules.
Probably my favorite male contestant
You didnt even include the best one, when he was doing his prize task and he tells a story completely irrelevant to the prize he brought because everyone else had stories attached to theirs.
Are you a child of divorce? - best moment
“I guess he just loyks moy voyb”
And I’ll throw in Lucy saying “örange means göö?”
There’s a Sam Campbell joke that was shared at the s17 nyc premiere that I think about at least once a week
WHAT WAS IT!!!
you can’t just leave us with that?!
Sam has the vibes of a Taskmasterassistent
Who's excited to see Dr. Cigarettes in CoC4? ME !
I'd shake Lucy's hand anytime.
Sam Campbell is the Treasure of Treasures, a shiny coin in a bucket full of poo.
big
Are you a child of divorce
My Cambo obsession has reached a level that I never knew was humanly possible. I want to have his baby and I would die for him lol. Also he is funny 😂 Oh to be his benefactor 😌
As an American... Ive watched every episode of Taksmaster. Every episode of QI. Every episode of Monty Pythons Flying Circus. And every episode of Father Ted. Am I an honorary Brit yet? Also Little Alex Horne's nostrils stink.
Also Sam is the Beatles of dry comedy.
I really didn't get Sam's humour and the hype about Dr. Cigarettes which just seemed infantile. The only good thing about that season was Susan and Julian's snark.
No accounting for taste, i guess. Sam is easily one of my favorite TM contestants of all time.
