Henna & Indigo Mix For Healthy Brunette Hair Color | Does It Cover Grey Hair In One Step?

  • Hi, friends. Thank you for taking the time to watch this video. Did you know, you can dye your hair and cover gray without chemicals, that's what you're going to see in this video. I dye my hair with henna and indigo paste. Because if you use just henna over white hair, you will get coppery red. And if you use just indigo, you will get green blue color. But if you combine henna and indigo, you will get brunette colors. And If there's more henna than indigo, the color will be warm reddish brown. If there is more indigo than henna, the color will be dark brown. I was very impressed how it turned out.🌼
    I love this and I hope you guys find this video helpful.

    Very nice shade. Henna is best for hair but can have a drying effect. We Indians use henna as well but our preparation is different and also we do not wash with shampoo or soap to remove henna. Only water and then after drying, we do a very heavy oiling to moisturize the hair. Then next day we wash normally with shampoo.

      I mixed henna with a small amount of aloe powder or with warm thin consistency flax seed gel. It makes it less drying and doesn’t effect the dye release. I have a lot of gray and it colors just fine. Just something I’ve been playing around with. I think I will try the oil method after that you mentioned. Thank you.

      @@TracyD2 Usually henna has a drying effect on the hair, but after henna, it is recommended to wash thoroughly with water only. After drying, then apply a heavy oiling and it seals the color and moisturizes the hair. The next day, you do a normal hair wash. We Indians love oil a lot :)

    I tried this yesterday, and you are right, it does take all day but it worked! It covered my grey hair and looks great! My hair is naturally dark brown with some grey on my crown and forehead. The henna and indigo gave my hair the coverage I needed. I mixed 1 cup of henna and 1 cup of Indigo along with the aloe vera and hibiscus powder. My hair is now mostly dark brown with some red. I'm curious to see how long it'll last. Thank you for such great and helpful content. UPDATE: This color application lasted almost 6 weeks on my hair. My gray roots are showing and it's now time to color my hair again. I'm happy with the results. I love that I'm saving money and that this is a much healthier alternative!

      @@mownikanerusu1206 Hi! I didn't loose hair any more than what I already have been (going through menopause so I was already loosing hair before I started this). I kept the Henna/Indigo mixture on my hair for 5 hours the first time I did it, and 4.5hours the second time. By the way, I just did this once again (third time) but only did my roots this time. So, I only mixed 1/4C of Henna and 1/4C of Indigo and was enough for my roots. I'm happy with the results!

    I've been using henna and indigo dye for 5 years now. I add crushed dried rose petal powder, beetroot powder, and apple cider vinegar to my henna. I just add water to my indigo. I didn't know I had to let the indigo sit for 15 minutes. I will try that next time. I've only just washed off the mixture off my hair. I generally leave it in overnight as the stain doesn't take, if I leave it in any less than 12 hours. I left it in for 24 hours this time. I will leave the indigo until the dye has been released before I mix it with the henna next time. hopefully, it will give me the colour I like, in a shorter time frame. I have no issues with colour fade and I only ever colour my roots. Thank you for posting this.

      Adding beetroot powder is the best it'll give a more richer colour....henna + indico + beetroot powder+amla powder + curd/egg + black tea/coffee water (no sugar ofcourse 😅)
      Using black tea/coffee is really effective instead of using plain water...u can use either..i like to use one spoon of coffee powder and tea powder and boil it well..then i cool it off and use it for mixing ..better keep the mixture overnight if possible preferably in a iron vessel(the best )or a glass bowl....

    I did the two step process with Light Mountain Naturals Cover the Grey - Auburn. I left each on two hours after each curing two hours. Around my parts where I separated the rows and where my grey is prevalent, and around my temples turned really orange! The rest of my hair is a darker brunette auburn color.
    How can I correct the orange?!
    I was considering mixing Auburn and Red but concerned it will go even more orange!
    Is the secret mixing both powders (step 1 and 2) together and use them at the same time?
    This orange has got to go!

      Absolutely, same brand I used they sale henna dye for beard.

    • @Peleski
      @Peleski 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, it's great for beards. A lot safer than box dyes which end up on your skin. Go 2 parts henna to 1 part indigo though, unless you want a really orange look.

    15% indigo
    15 % katam
    Grazie mille 😊

    • @RoseBaby
      @RoseBaby  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I would recommend to wait at least 24 hours before you use shampoo on your hair. After the henna treatment you can rinse your hair with a co-wash, it is better than conditioner because it does not rinse out the color.

    Thank you for the tip. I have been using Henna ONLY for the last 30 years. So my shoulder length hair today is colored red-orange (I have 70% grey hair based on the root color). My question is - if I use the HENNA-INDIGO combination tomorrow, will my entire hair length become dark brown or or only the roots? Thank you for your time.

    • @RoseBaby
      @RoseBaby  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you apply it on your entire hair it should color it all but the color might vary. The roots may get a lighter color than the rest of your hair. It depends on your gray hair and if they are very stubborn you also may need a second treatment. I recommend you watch this video first where I do the two step process for coloring gray hair. th-cam.com/video/133TqqQ7NF0/w-d-xo.html

    Hello Rose
    First I want to say I love your video and how informative it is.
    I have few questions for
    For length hair little bit down the shoulder how much henna and indigo should I use can you please give a measure by a tablespoons?
    My hair color now is light brown but I want it to be dark chocolate with a hint of burgendy similar to your hair color do I need to mix both henna and indigo together? or do I need to do 2 steps?
    If I need to do 2 steps do I need to add hibiscus on henna or with indigo? And for how long should I keep indigo on my hair?
    Instead of water can I use liquid of boiling black tea, coffee and gloves and add that liquid into Henna? Please advise and thank you
    Again Im so in love with your video

    I have watched your video

    Please guide me with this

    • @RoseBaby
      @RoseBaby  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello Srushti, I don’t have any experience with bleach and henna because I never done it my self. From research I read that it should be fine just make sure you use 100% pure ingredients because many poorer-quality hennas have metallic salts in them that will cause an exothermic reaction when put in contact with bleach. This may result in severe damage to the hair and chemical burns on your scalp. I highly recommend you do a test on a small section of hair first.

  • @gamergirlmars
    @gamergirlmars ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi! I have a question. My natural hair, I have Albinism, it is very bleached blonde type of color. I have dyed my hair dark brown since before I can remember. Would henna work if my natural hair is such a light shade and I'm dying it so dark? Is it the same thing as with white? Because even hair dye that says it "covers gray" never does for me. Thank you, I can't find this answer anywhere. I've been really wanting to try henna but it's out of my realm of knowledge undoubtly.

    • @RoseBaby
      @RoseBaby  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Henna is perfect if you are trying to achieve a shade of red, brown or black on originally light hair color because henna will not lighten the hair. Henna is tone-on-tone hair color, and it will stain the original color of the hair. That’s why the results are different and unique for everyone. If your natural hair color is yellow adding the reddish dye of henna to it will result in an orange tone then you can follow up with a mix of henna and indigo or indigo alone to get darker shades.
