      Just like many other tech examples, the 30K is NOT obsolete but it IS becoming obsolescent. If your 30K is working fine keep running it. But the HK speakers, USB C charging, and hands free voice control are all features that make even the 50 a worthwhile upgrade...

    I've had a 50S since it came out. My riding buddies recently got 50Ss as well hoping that it would alleviate some of the connection issues we've had. It did to a degree but mesh still doesn't work right so we still use BT connection. For the money I'd expect better, especially since my first battery lasted about 2 years before it wouldn't hold a charge for a normal ride. I ordered a higher capacity battery online and that resolved the issue.

  • @tomwestbrook

    • @DesertDuc
      @DesertDuc 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      TBH the IP rating was more of a "gee whizz" to me. Having owned and operated several Sena units from the SMH10 series up, and having ridden through many a rain storm (and even a tornado once) and not EVER having a water related issue, I would say "the proof of the pudding is in the eating."

    Question: Mesh 3.0 - Clarify MESH 3.0 is backward compatible with existing MESH systems? Will the 60s keep operating while charging: My 20s, 50s do but my Schuberth Sena SC2 will not operate while charging, would be nice to know cause they all have a knack for running out of battery at the end of the day when your finding the lodging/camping for the night. As for all the flashing LEDs and color coordinated colors...that's for the social media types - is that future of motorcycling? I mean I and a friend led a day ride into the Rockies for the Local Colorado BMW club. He led and I was clean up - we had over 50 people (which is way too many by the way) of which none turned on there mesh mode and with only two users at the fron and the back of a large group, - MESH does not work well - more power use and less one to one range than bluetooth mode. So for most people, bluetooth and 4 users is plenty. In 2025...a 20s is still a good unit and note for the 20s to the 50s, they all use the same clamp which is handy but fails often in rain situations so in that aspect maybe the new 60s clamp is better. For the older clamp, carry Silly Putty...sounds silly but keeps the water out ( spread around the outer housing, top, front, back - not in the connection area of the clamp)

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Just to hit your questions in this one: Mesh 3.0 is not backwards compatible to older Mesh units, however the 60S has both Mesh 2.0 and 3.0 built in so it can chat between either, depending on which units are in the group. We imagined that 3.0 will be the Mesh on all future units, with 2.0 being a backup as well. And yes, you can charge while using the device thanks to the dedicated charging port. If you have any other unit-specific questions, feel free to reach out to our customer service riders and they can help figure out which unit is right for you.
      As for the Mesh's performance in your group, we'd be curious if the distance between the riders was too much for the mesh w/ 50 riders between them. Unit to unit is only about a mile or so (which is Sena's claim, but not too far from our use-case testing successfully). In order to get the 5 mile range you need around 5-6 riders so the signal can bounce the distance between all of them for the max range. But again, without having been there that day and no the units / mounting / firmware etc, it's hard to say over YT comments. Hope that helps!

      It could be handy for international comms if your cell phone plan has steep int'l rates. But how often are you trying to talk to people in other countries while you're both riding your motorcycles...? Closer to home, if you're riding with buddies and they get a little out of the standard range and you have internet coverage it'll be a seamless way to keep talking, even miles apart, without having to dial them. Just keep your portable battery close by, as I suspect this will drain cell phones quick

    I wonder why they include a second mounting base with boom mic and speakers.
    If you use 2 helmets, great! but otherwise you're forced to pay for the extra set of speakers and base with boom mic that will probably never get used...
    Is there no way to buy it without these extra's? surely most people have no need for it so it makes the whole product pointless and overpriced.

    The second mount is useless for riders that wear full face helmets because the mic is non removeable and can't be used with a wired mic.
    Its about time that Sena finally makes a waterpoof unit. I like the different color base panels to match your helmet better, and I really like the flashlight feature which would come in handy at night....but the second boom mount with its non removable mic is useless with a full face helmet...why did Sena make that boom mount so you can't change between the boom mic and the wired mic like you can with my Sena 20S Evo...why offer a second boom mount that can't be used with a full face helmet....so because of the non removable boom mic, the second mount along with the extra speakers become useless for full face users and those parts will just sit in the box, and that useless second mount and extra speakers just raise the price of the 60S for no reason. Why not just sell the 60S with one mount and one set of speakers and sell the 60S at a cheaper price...or at least make the second mount able to use a wired mic like you can with the 20S Evo I currently am using...also I sure hope the 60S can be charged on the fly like my 20S Evo can be.

  • @MarioStoilov93

    This is kind of disappointing. The LED should have been an optional add-on. 2 mounts is nice, but one being a permanent boom? Just give me one mount, I'll buys the second if I want to (and I'll make it a non-boom while I'm at it). "New wave tech", which is just a glorified discord server? You had so much time between the 50S to come up with something genuinely new and we got this? It looks like it's 2 years late to the release TBH

    Much as I love tech stuff for this new unit my Sena 30K works fine with upgraded Sena HD Speakers. This might sound lame but I prefer the looks of 30K versus any other models. It’s more aggressive shape/style and sits perfectly angle on my helmet. Also I think 30K is the only model that has official Wi-Fi Docking Station which I have too so another reason not needing to upgrade.

      According to both Cardo and Sena that won’t work since they are both designed differently. Unlike BT which is able to chat between the brands. However, as mentioned in the video, the new Wave app is a solve for all cross-brand chatting.

    • @Ryan_H22
      @Ryan_H22 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@RevZilla Like you said though, wave / VoIP function isn't unit to unit. It's phone to phone so you have to take your phone AND be in an area that has cell coverage. That already exists. Discord, and can be done with a sub $20 dollar Amazon unit using BT to your phone. This "designed differently" is crap. Maybe as consumers it's our fault because we've let them get away with it but it's like buying a bike that you can only fill at a certain gas station because the tank is "designed differently" and only one nozzle fits or you have to buy a specific brand of wireless router to use your Samsung phone. No one would buy that bike or that phone. And maybe that's what we need to do, get together, quit buying the products and tell Sena, EJEAS, XGP, Cardo, etc that until they get together, sit down and come out with ONE standard that all comms use we're not buying their products. Comm standards exist in practically every other industry from serial to parallel to 802.11 to USB. It's time there's one for mesh where the consumer wins by choosing the unit they want with the features they want at the price they can afford.

  • @serpents666
    @serpents666 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    That's a severe case of "form over function". The flashlight is pretty useless IRL, the LED changing colors for different modes is just for show because you don't see it anyway, and most people probably don't need 2 sets of speakers because they own a single helmet. I'd say get a 20S/evo for less than $200 and you're good. Unless you ride in huge groups and REALLY need that mesh technology to listen to 20 guys trying to talk at the same time.

I have a $50 unit from Amazon that I've been using for about 4-5 years now and it has a crystal clear intercom, Bluetooth calls & music while riding, also has flashing LEDs on the side, etc., etc., etc.... I guess Sena assumes that if you have enough disposable income to afford a bike with all the accessories (exhaust, underglow, custom taillight, etc), then you may not mind overpaying a ridiculous amount just for a Bluetooth module. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

      @patrickmchugh8039 a ModMic in your helmet costs 1/4 of this, has infinitely better mic quality and noise reduction, connects to your phone and bike every time with no BS, works with any app on your phone like discord to connect with as many people as you can fit on the road with no scratchy connection or line of sight nonsense. Not to mention there's no tumor on the outside of your helmet.

    • @patrickmchugh8039

      @@512mbflashdrive totally agree, but i think it’s important to look at what consumers choose. Everybody can do the modmic / discord collab each time they power up to ride. But most people buy these style units or BT only units for the ease of use. It’s not like Sena and Cardo grew to be most of the market share for no reason. It’s also why helmets with comms built in already are big markets, just for the ease of it to a lot of non-discord types out there. I know I prefer discord for everything, but I still ride with my Cardo’s since most people I ride with won’t be bothered with Discord and chat rooms.
