I have had a Golf R as a daily driver for the past 2 years, with a 991.2 GT3, and looking at a used Macan Turbo 2017 as a replacement for the Golf so thanks for the review. The Macan Turbo I’m looking at only has a few options so no sport chrono or sunroof but looks reasonable value.
Did you end up in the Turbo? I went Golf R > M235i > M3 > Wrecked that > now Porche Turbo. Love it plan to keep it for a long time. Great daily all arounder
@@aaronvisco13 went for a new rs3 for 8 months which didn’t really gel with the bought a 2020 Macan GTS in November 2020 which I still have, brilliant car.
Spot on. I traded my 2017 base Macan for a 2015 Macan Turbo to be use as daily. There a significance difference on the driving fun factor :) from 256hp to 400hp. The certified used are now much affordable as well. A great partner of my Cayman S 981c.
Peakwanderer , Wrong. Only the british pronounce Porschaaa for the rest of the world is Porscheee , including the Ferdinand Porscheee. After Brexit maybe it will sound different.
Yellow, discreet? LOL. (A Porsche in almost any guise is not discrete either, lets be blunt about it) I remember working at PPG many years ago, and one of the paint sprayers was going to buy a Lotus. The other guys were absolute wind up merchants and convinced this guy to make sure he bought his Lotus in bright yellow.
The Alfa is nice but reliability isn’t there, residuals are stronger on the Porsche and the interior Is better too. The Macan’s always been the benchmark for mini suv’s
" English spring day "⁉️ Cletus, old lad, just how old is this video❓🤨 It is, however, a very enjoyable run through the flat lands, and, as always, your vocals are a joy to the ear.
CLOVIS HAS HAD A HAIRCUT‼️‼️‼️ We need pictures as a matter of urgency. That is, of course, if it's hair that was on his pate. If it's hair from any other part of his anatomy, pictures are definitely not required.
JayEmm on Cars it’s great fun. The garage pass gets you loads of access. Not sure how it is at LeMans, but at Daytona you can walk out across the track and onto the pit road before the race and meet the teams and get up close to the cars. This is at the Rolex 24 though. I don’t think the Daytona 500 is quite as open. Hope you get to go next year.
JayEmm on Cars - just watched it. Thanks I completely missed that video somehow. I only went to the 500 once - just after I moved to Florida back in ‘06. I had about the same impression that you did. I had bad seats too - too low and far from the pit area. Watch it on TV sometimes, but it seems so random and futile with one tiny mistake taking out 5 cars at a time. So although I respect how difficult NASCAR racing can be, it’s not really my thing. I’ve been doing the Rolex 24 for the past 10 years though. That’s where it’s at for me. No assigned seats so you can go from the garages and infield to the grandstands and back again as there’s plenty of time. And by the way, speaking as an American, a lot of us poke fun at the “best” and “most famous” that is advertised everywhere. Not sure why we do that here - might be an old fashioned way of advertising here that some people preserve as a tradition. But a lot of us (under the age of 50 that is) think it’s campy - and I don’t think too many people here take it seriously. I suppose in our culture we like to pretend sometimes that things are great, even if they maybe aren’t that great, as a way of raising spirits and generating positive feelings about the experience. From my travels in Europe I can understand that could be a very foreign concept to many others. But seeing the differences that make you question things you may take for granted is what makes travel interesting. So - since you’ve already done the 500 - if you can make it back to Florida I would absolutely recommend the Rolex 24 next time. You may want to catch the 4 hour continental tire series race on Friday as well. Your video from the 500 was excellent especially considering how short the race day is and tough to get around in. Really appreciate your work!
All good until you buy one and then realise you have the dreaded timing chain cover oil leak 2 days after purchasing which is a very common fault. £8000 to repair!!!
Come on. That’s the dumbest incorrect bs comment I’ve ever heard. Edit: Porsche is the dumb ones… now they’ve somehow figured out the logical repair route and it’s less than a grand. But you were right at one point which is totally nuts.
+charlesmcguffy I know how it is pronounced, it is just habit. Growing up in the UK that's how most people say it. Wann ich in Deutschland bin, dann sage ich immer "Porsch-uh"
+Hasnain Ali While shooting this video I was fighting a chest infection, and less than a week later I wound up in hospital. Style not a priority for me - I'm here for the cars. Thanks for watching :)
+JayEmm on Cars be glad you live in a country with a proper healthcare system. In the US you'd be dead or bankrupt or both by now! I don't thnk the British weather is conducive to bronchial health TBH. Cheers.
Trey Quattro don’t be fooled into thinking our health system is so great when lots of us can’t even get an appointment at the doctors until you’re at near death!
+McT740052 I take great pains to make my content a variety of vehicles at a variety of price points. Surely your statement applies to the vast majority of car content online, especially by some of the other popular YTers? Last week I reviewed a hot hatch, before that a 20 year old convertible, and my next video is on a £500 Saloon
Of course I totally get that, and yes it does to a certain extent. But I imagine you are trying to grow your channel and by appealing to 1% of your subscribers I just don't find it relavant to me or the other 99%. I don't think it takes "great pains" to realise that a Macan turbo is so far out of reach of the average viewer that nobody really gives a shit as it might aswell be a ride in a UFO. I really really enjoyed the MR2 content, and I think the "average Joe", myself included, would be more interested in that kind of thing. Other youtubers do the "exotic" stuff better and I think maybe your niche is the more day to day stuff. My opinion of course, could be completely wrong. Thanks for the content
+McT740052 I started the channel based on my Evora. If people who couldn't afford cars never watched content on them, no supercar video would ever get any views. I don't see why you feel of all things I have done a Macan Turbo is so extravagant? It's cheaper than a C63 AMG, a similar price to an M4, and way less than all of the 911s I have reviewed recently. Of my most recent stuff, the Golf R and M2 videos have been popular. Neither are exactly cheap. I'm always going to be dedicated to a wide variety of stuff, especially as I love the bread and butter cheaper cars, but it has to be up to my viewers to decide what they want to watch and so far there's zero correlation between car price and views. Your feedback is appreciated
You do not live in the real world, to a normal person the Macan Turbo IS extravagant. You have lost touch with reality if you think £2.5k downpayment and £860 a month isn't extravagant, this would appeal to someone on a salary of £100k a year. The majority of people who view your videos, won't earn much more than the monthly payment after tax etc. People watching this video will have diesel golfs, bmw 3 series etc so to say a TURBO Porsche SUV is not extravagant is wide of the mark. In YOUR own words a £30k golf or £40k M2 are not exactly cheap so then to say that a £60k car is not extravagant is just plain wrong. Maybe there is no corrolation between price and views simply because people will still be interested in things that are not attainable.
+McT740052 Actually I have found that since 99% of all people buy their cars on finance, people are now buying cars which 5-10 years ago they would never have considered. I know a huge number of young people who when I passed my test would be driving a £1000 banger, now they finance a brand new Fiesta ST. For reference, I don't like the way it works but that is how many people buy cars. I don't finance my vehicles but that is unusual. An entry level 911 is something like £15,000 more than this car, that never used to be considered an extremely extravagant purchase (like, say, a Ferrari). My audience are quite broad, many may be people who will never be able to afford luxury items like this but still want to know what it's like, to me that is reason enough to make the content. When I was younger I loved watching Top Gear etc... and I loved the segments on lambos and shit cars alike. At the end of the day I will continue to make as broad a selection of content as I can, featuring cars from across the motoring spectrum. Feel free to pick and choose what you like. FWIW I am planning to do a feature soon on ideal first cars, realistic stuff, but believe it or not I have a harder time getting "ordinary" cars for review than I do sports cars most of the time
Macan Turbo is such a great car, I indulged in one for a couple of days and can't think of a better daily means of transport.
Roger Bailey sounds like you prefer the Macan Turbo over the GTS?
England may be a few hours ahead of the States but it's not a whole season. It's still winter everywhere in the northern hemisphere!
+Trey Quattro I'm optimistic!

@@jonathanrenzi1102did you buy one? How is fuel economy 😊 ?
Looks great in yellow, much nicer than the regular boring black ones. Not a fan of the wheels though
Love the description of that marketplace in the first minute.
Love my Macan Turbo. Fun daily driver.
Hi jay, try the sport plus to get a better feel for the car's sporty feel
Air suspension on macan is just right, you'd like it
Jay's jacket game is off the chain. Salute! I noticed
+future62 Glad it is appreciated
a Yellow Macan Turbo ... not really discrete.
Jay,ur videos r looking better. Keep it up
Beautiful! Just my style. Great video. Very detailed very enjoyable
+Jordi El Niño Polla• Thankyou!
A GTS macan is more than enough.
+Greg Mieg True but here the difference between GTS and Turbo is nowhere near as big as, for example, the 911
The thing gets worse mileage than a damn 5.0 V8
+Necrosis3 Are you talking about a Mustang
JayEmm on Cars Lexus GS F
+Necrosis3 Presumably weighs a fair bit less, and driving less wheels
Hey the correct pronunciation at 3:54 :P well done :)

I think the Macan Turbo is a bit redundant with that new Alfa Stelvio, the lower Macan models still have a place though.
+S Miller Just because another brand has a similar car, doesn't invalidate this one. Also I am not so sure about that 90 degree V6
The Alfa is nice but reliability isn’t there, residuals are stronger on the Porsche and the interior Is better too. The Macan’s always been the benchmark for mini suv’s
For that model year I believe the colour is known as "racing yellow", (lighter than speed yellow) which makes sense on a Macan?
+Paul Walker I believe you're right, I haven't seen a speed yellow car in a while
On the 981 at least “power steering plus” is just software and I kinda doubt it’s any different here.
+Phos9 probably not
Those (21 inch??) wheels look almost bigger than the car. Dayumn. Looks...comedic.
+acchaladka Yeah 21s
Macan S can easily be ECU tuned to the 400+ HP dept. save your money.
+G Garrison And the Turbo will probably go to 500bhp using simple mods too. Welcome to the world of turbos :)
Macan is excellent. So is Cayenne - particularly GTS. Great complement to any sports car.

Interesting that you compare it to a M3. First time hearing that.
+Obi W. I use the M3 as the "practical fast car" yardstick
Is the 3.6 a turbo charged version of the 3.6 VR6 found in other older VAG cars?
+JayT1984 It is a genuine V6 as far as I know, not a VR
It’s Porsche only engine found similar in panermara
