I Own ‘15 Macan S with every available option. And I love the buttons. Much better than keypad and touchscreen in my wife’s new Lexus. Even more... the performance of the Macan is amazing. Very sports car like in power and handling. Very tight feel. Comfortable cabin. Porsche nailed it with this one!
Why so much hating on buttons? They are there to give driver control of features others don’t even have! I suppose Porsche could do the thinking for us but seems they know that we drivers want to be in control of our vehicles at times. So. Carry on. Controls are easy to learn and thank goodness I am not forced to go into a screen and sort through menus for tasks so simple as switching on my heated seats.

I loved the first panamera when it came out with all those buttons ... it was like a jurney to find out what button does what and it makes the car and brand unique ... it's a feature not a bad design

Also now thinking about it my mind has changed a bit on it but I will say I wouldn't mind them as much if they at least didn't feel so cheap and plastic which doesn't go with the rest of the car, but it's a personal thing like everything is really, some will love the big new touch screen in the new models and some will love the classic buttons.

The physical buttons are way better than a digital screen with no tactile feedback. It’s kind of unfortunate there’s so many buttons on the Macan (and so many empty slots even in a fully loaded one) but real buttons is a huge positive selling point for me!

Can't say for sure but my guess is all those buttons are Porsche's answer to the new habit manufacturers have of putting every-bloody-thing behind the infotainment menus. You don't even get knobs for air con in some cars, you need to go into tons of menus to do anything. Very annoying! It looks kind of like a cockpit in there, which I guess all the geeks at Porsche love lol

Buttons buttons buttons. Too many automotive journalist are just mindlessly repeating this platitudes of too many buttons in cars today. Please think whether you even consider it to be true or not or are you simply repeating it. There is nothing wrong with a few more buttons, much easier than going into digital menus and searching appropriate function. And you get used to it in a few days, so not confusing at all. Still get a like from me,love the channel and everyday approach to testing. Maybe wish bit more focus on suspension comfort/stiffness in various cars.
Honestly I didn't watch any reviews of this car before I filmed with it and had no idea other people had also talked about the buttons so I did think it to be true, I really never repeat anything on my channel and just simply say what I like or don't like, simple as that really. Looking back on it, a lot of people have convinced me now that the buttons are good but what still lets it down for me is how cheap they feel which doesn't go with the rest of the car. I prefer buttons to endless submenus on touchscreens that you need to be looking at to adjust. With buttons, you know where they are eventually. Buttons are more expensive to enginner than screens, so latest models are cost saving more.
I don’t really agree about the buttons. Once you get to know your car, you know the buttons by muscle memory and don’t need to look, but you can’t really get that with a touch screen where you have to bumble through menus.

I too love the buttons over a touch screen. And as said, you learn them quickly. I never have to take my eyes from off the road, they’re that easy.

I owned a Cayman and I can tell you the buttons were great. No touch screens. Once you know where they are you never take your eyes off the road.
