If they don't meet them, they probably will get fired. They don't have time to babysit their tools. That you don't understand that screams you have never worked a real construction job. I wish the dewalt had the auto drive so the motor isnt running constantly. Thats the biggest let down for me on the dewalt. I like the makita but hate carrying different batteries and chargers.
Still use hilti cordless drywall gun. It's just the best one I've used. The Dewalt one has a really touchy clutch that likes to fuck around when im throwing screws into certain areas. Makita probably my 2nd choice out of all of them.
Yup agree with the ending comments for guys who supply tools for the guys. Our Hilti dealers in our town suck, they never have bits tip batteries or anything you need for the drywall guns so I’m with James on this one. The makita is a good gun, I have the auto feed hiliti guns but when they get dropped on the auto feed part it screws them up and here in Juneau they are 400 bucks. Sure you can screw off quicker but when a guy messes up a couple it takes to much money out of your pocket. I had three of them ruined on one job. So back to the old way for a while
Great video - really good. I realize that this video is 5 years old, but the Makita only had one month of use when you made this video. So the belt clip may not be better than the other two screwdrivers. Still, it's great to hear from someone who is using these guns professionally. I personally don't like DeWalt tools because I have found them to be unreliable.
One thing worth noting is that the makita won't take the autofeed attachment, they have a separate autofeed gun which is noisey. I've currently got the Milwaukee, I had the festool before but you really need both versions to get the best out of it. The 4500 is better for metal stud and short screws in wood and the 2500 is best wood. I think the makita screw gun was my favourite for loose screws.
Makita is a tank but apparently that damn rubber ring comes out inside the cone pretty easily. And once that happens, good luck trying to use it after that
I’ve been using the dewalt for 2 years now recently got a Hilti screw gun for a great price Works awesome it’s a little heavy but I think the weight helps you drive those screws on the stubborn angles better.
This came at a good time. I've been thinking about getting the Milwaukee set. I think I'll stay away from them now with the nose cone wearing like that. I've never had a DeWalt Screw gun I've liked so I never planned on getting one. I wish Hitachi would make a cordless, I've got some Hitachi corded guns that I absolutely love. I'd still be using them if they didn't have them damn cords. You'll laugh but I've been using the Ryobi from Home Depot for about six months and I really like them. The router is cheaply made, but I've really liked the guns.
I had all the same problems with the Milwaukee. The whole thing is made with cheap plastic parts. That's my fault for just assuming it was a quality tool and not actually comparing it to the Makita first. The Milwaukee cutout tool has been great on the other hand , but the gun seems like a rebranded Ryobi.
I've bought like 7 screw gun DeWalt and I can say it for sure: it sucks! All of them is stopping. I don't know if it a problem with the battery or the motor. I don't wanna that one anymore. I would like to buy a hilti one.
Motor! They are crap in the long-run! Hilts is the best but I don't have the want to get another platform... plus if I pay for them for the crew, it becomes real expensive real quick when they fail and then you have to have the truck, whenever it does! Milwaukee it is for now, available, cheaper, great overall, autofeed and did I mention available!
Hilti is by far the best in my opinion it’s badass with the 22v 5.2 ah battery last a long time and feels stronger than a corded gun. It is heavier than all the guns you have. But it’s badass I do Sheetrock this hilti gun and cut outs take a beating. I have 4 sets of hilti gun and cutout for my guys. And we work 10 or more hours a day 6 days a week. I’ll buy more for the rest of my crew.
Hilti is the best... i've used one for almost 2 years, haven't complained about it not even once. It hasn't broken yet, a lot of power in it and the warranty is the best there is. It's just a little bit heavier than makita or milwaukee but it is so well balanced that the wheight won't bother you.
I've been in the drywall business for about 5 years now I've worked with a guy that trained me thats been in this business 20 years now he still uses dewalt to this day I bought the drywall combo pack with the cut out tool gun and 2 batteries with a charger the cut out tool as we call them (routers) lasted me a year they get a dust build and the motor runs to a stop and burns out i started cleaning them monthly for a longer life the gun works to this day the cap release lock is the best on the market Milwaukee has the dumbest cap it resets the depth everytime u need a tool to take the bit out of the Milwaukee cut out tool which includes a beer opener on the end cuz it drives a man drinking dewalt has a lock cap on the cut out tools so u can release the bit anywhere everybody has there own opinion but I started with dewalt the drywall screw guns are just better then makita and Milwaukee but Milwaukee impacts are better then dewalts my experience the dewalt has weak clips I agree on that but the clips will all go anyway before the gun breaks on all 3 of these guns
Dewalt problems is sides and corners, reversing as well but DEWALT IS MY GOTO. The clip tho broke the first day having it i reversed it and now its perfect.
I was using a ridgid before, but recently purchased the makita since I already have a lot of makita 18v tools. It is great and I have absolutely only good things to say about it. I may purchase the collated magazine soon depending on how much drywall jobs I get.
Never worked with Milwaukee but im with you that the Dewalt is no good at all. Makita and Bosch especially since the new Battery Generation and because its very light. But we need to be honest. there is only a hand full of tools that gets beaten like drywall guns. No other drill or impact will pound 300 to 400k screws in 10 years while a Drywallgun eats this in a year. So they break all soon or later.
I’m invested in Dewalt tools. Wish you had a better review. I’ll still buy the Dewalt simply because I’m DIY’r and don’t need contractor level production and I don’t want to have different batteries.
Thanks man! I was just about to decide between these 3 brands! I've used a rigid for the last few months and it has the same plastic cone the Milwaukee has and I do not recommend it (as well as all my coworker that wanted to try it out curiosity lol).
I have went through so many corded screw guns makes my head spin. I Went with a cordless Milwaukee because all ready had the batteries not a bad gun really except like you mentioned belt/pouch clip broke basically out of the box most important thing next to proper screw set.presently using the cordless Makita screw gun,router ,and impact... top feature most will not understand setting auto engage {: silence , also not have 4500 rpm of dust blowing back up screwing bottoms.... except the router makes up for the silence ten fold.

I have the DeWalt and it’s a good gun doesn’t really cry a lot but the battery does suck during winter dies faster but overall it works perfect for me.
I don't know what's wrong with the dewalts but I do more so construction remodels and new but my boss will buy only dewalt drills and stuff but we also always have problems with them. The impacts we run through like crazy especially when putting in hardie backer they just burn up. I carry two when we do hardie.

Although my cordless tools don't get near the use as yours, I like Ryobi. Pretty much every one I have. They hold up well for me. I just got a electric start Ryobi power washer that uses the same battery as my tools.
The lower rpm on the makita helps alot , does well with heavy gauge metal and even 3 inch screws , you should try the makita routers , those things are badass , not the drywall router but the makita wood work router (cordless)
I started drywalling a year ago. I started on bosch. My guns now dying and i haven't found a reason to switch brand got mine originally for cheap from a friend because he wanted to go back to Milwaukee. I've used Makita hate them. The Chuck is pretty loose but they were my bosses old guns so I'd have to try a new one to give it a fair shake. Milwaukee cones suck so yea don't get me started. haven't found a reason to use any other brand the cone locks so my depth is always the same and it's light as a feather
I love the Milwaukee myself but that Makita is nice my buddy uses straight Makita, I love Milwaukee but not a fan of the nose cone either, I'd rock either of those. Plus love that milwaukee router 💪
I have the same problem with Dewalt Always stop working then no working I smacked one couse I got tired Bought new one last me a month and stopped working but the new makita work nice how long is going to last Hopefully pay for
i use the Milwaukee, the cone adjustment sucks and i wish they had a better way of removing the shafts (since i also frame metal studs with it and need to put longer shafts sometimes) overall i paired the milwaukee with the newer 3.0 compact battery and love the extra torque and battery life without too much extra weight....i agree i think makita feels even better in the hand but it only spins at 4000rpm i think...i don't like dewalt but they are the cheapest in price so i understand why many people like it but none of the dewalts tools i've had lasted....milwaulkee and makita have a nice light weight to toughness ratio i find lol
Hey nomadic. Where do you get your drywall Phillips bits from? Home depot and lowes in my area doesn't stock them nor do they know that there is a difference.
The only problem I had with the Makita I returned was that it would get stuck making noise when it was supposed to be on silent auto ... Besides that it was good but it the issue started on the first day ..
I was expecting an automatic feed shoot out. Not a regular screw gun. . Just saying. And what about the auto feed attachments that you can adapt to the three driil your displaying
I bought the dewalt....as i am a taper that boards now and again. Big mistake...my boarder uses Makita. More Torque, and worth every nickel... the dewalt can really slow down production as the clutch fails a lot.
You try any of these with the collated attachments? Interested to know what you think of those. I have the Ridgid corded one which works ok but can't do corners because of the design.
Dewalt ergonomics, drive line absolutely sucks. Makita drives okay, but it's heavy and feels like a brick. Milwaukee, never used it. Don't really like Chinese Milwaukee tools. Bosch, Best feel, best driving, but discounted in the US Why no Hilti?????

how many F bombs switching back and forth? The angle of the gun in each is just a tad different. I hate switching tools. Even worse using a new hawk, vs one that is worn in. You nearly cut your arm off with a trowel and new hawk. I tell folks that watch drywall is 50% muscle memory, 40% knowing what not to do, 10% being bullheaded. Good vid, its funny how easy you spot dudes who know, vs dudes who dont.

Hey how about a Corded here we do alot of metal framing so cordless kinda dies really fast when screwing metal c channels what do u use for metal framing?
Travis Wilson on commercial jobs we’d always be using our hiltis and if not we use corded dewalts. I’ve worked for some commercial contractors and they were crazy safe about everything and wanted us to not have any cords laying around. It’s a trip hazard I guess.
Hilti does the job... I've been using a hilti sd-5000 screwgun (european version) and I'm pleased of it. The battery lasts long enough, the power is nice and I've been using it for 2 years and it's still working properly. And there's the 2 year warranty and if anything happens in this time Hilti changes it or repairs it for free.
Ive had all 3 , dewalt has terrible batteries in my opinion , i didnt like the ergonomics of the milwaukee , and makita ran good for me for about 4-5 months , gun doesnt have as much torque anymore , if youre okay with replacing guns 2-3 times a year then makita all day everyday , the dewalt guns have lasted me the longest which is about 1 year .
Milwaukee all the eay, especially with that 5 year warranty 🔥🔥, compared to those other guys, also, Showers, the Milwaukee if you ran a 5.0 on ot just like the makita youd get the power that you wanted. If you wanted to up it even more use a 6.0 HIGH DEMAND battery with it and you wont even feel the screws go in. The Milwaukee router is definitely the best of the two, especially since Makita is brushed and slow, Dewalts just has low RPMs. If we are talking king of all kings it goes to Hilti though.

Dewalt cordless for 3 years recently switched to Hilti works great corded dewalt dw274 or dw255 with fixed 3 piece silet clutch

Ridgid isn't a generic store brand its owned by tti who also owns Milwaukee thats why there is so much similarity

Actually the ridgid and Milwaukee are different cones in terms of material and design.
Milwaukee is great, it won't break the bank and by the time the cone wears out it paid itself many times already so you can get a new one

I use a quik drive- Makita for easy screws and Makita for corners.

We use Hilti with the collated screws, battery operated, no problem
DeWalt, Milwaukee and Bosch. My favorite by far is Bosch with core battery.

The Chuck is pretty loose but they were my bosses old guns so I'd have to try a new one to give it a fair shake. Milwaukee cones suck so yea don't get me started. haven't found a reason to use any other brand the cone locks so my depth is always the same and it's light as a feather
I love the Milwaukee myself but that Makita is nice my buddy uses straight Makita, I love Milwaukee but not a fan of the nose cone either, I'd rock either of those. Plus love that milwaukee router 💪

i use the Milwaukee, the cone adjustment sucks and i wish they had a better way of removing the shafts (since i also frame metal studs with it and need to put longer shafts sometimes) overall i paired the milwaukee with the newer 3.0 compact battery and love the extra torque and battery life without too much extra weight....i agree i think makita feels even better in the hand but it only spins at 4000rpm i think...i don't like dewalt but they are the cheapest in price so i understand why many people like it but none of the dewalts tools i've had lasted....milwaulkee and makita have a nice light weight to toughness ratio i find lol

Love my Milwaukee drywall gun I haven’t had any issues with mine and lot of Dewalt stuff sucks now there power tools are not made to last anymore
The only problem I had with the Makita I returned was that it would get stuck making noise when it was supposed to be on silent auto ... Besides that it was good but it the issue started on the first day ..
I was expecting an automatic feed shoot out. Not a regular screw gun. . Just saying. And what about the auto feed attachments that you can adapt to the three driil your displaying

What about applying drywall to 18 gauge metal studs? That will really big down any gun I think 2500 rpm is the best for metal studs

I bought the dewalt....as i am a taper that boards now and again. Big mistake...my boarder uses Makita. More Torque, and worth every nickel... the dewalt can really slow down production as the clutch fails a lot.
You try any of these with the collated attachments? Interested to know what you think of those. I have the Ridgid corded one which works ok but can't do corners because of the design.

how many F bombs switching back and forth? The angle of the gun in each is just a tad different. I hate switching tools. Even worse using a new hawk, vs one that is worn in. You nearly cut your arm off with a trowel and new hawk. I tell folks that watch drywall is 50% muscle memory, 40% knowing what not to do, 10% being bullheaded. Good vid, its funny how easy you spot dudes who know, vs dudes who dont.

@@southfloridasiding8475 alright...standard box (grabber) 1 1/4 drywall screws $40.66(8000) count....collated (grip fast) $15.59(1000)count x 8 $132.94...granted factoring in speed and efficiency of the collated productivity may be increased but not nearly enough,x amount of screws is only going to screw off x amount of sheets.

Dewalt 272 was the best imo. 274 had clutch problems. The hilti corded was a beast too

Travis Wilson on commercial jobs we’d always be using our hiltis and if not we use corded dewalts. I’ve worked for some commercial contractors and they were crazy safe about everything and wanted us to not have any cords laying around. It’s a trip hazard I guess.

Hilti does the job... I've been using a hilti sd-5000 screwgun (european version) and I'm pleased of it. The battery lasts long enough, the power is nice and I've been using it for 2 years and it's still working properly. And there's the 2 year warranty and if anything happens in this time Hilti changes it or repairs it for free.

Ive had all 3 , dewalt has terrible batteries in my opinion , i didnt like the ergonomics of the milwaukee , and makita ran good for me for about 4-5 months , gun doesnt have as much torque anymore , if youre okay with replacing guns 2-3 times a year then makita all day everyday , the dewalt guns have lasted me the longest which is about 1 year .

Just buy hilt, you only have to buy one
Milwaukee all the eay, especially with that 5 year warranty 🔥🔥, compared to those other guys, also, Showers, the Milwaukee if you ran a 5.0 on ot just like the makita youd get the power that you wanted. If you wanted to up it even more use a 6.0 HIGH DEMAND battery with it and you wont even feel the screws go in. The Milwaukee router is definitely the best of the two, especially since Makita is brushed and slow, Dewalts just has low RPMs. If we are talking king of all kings it goes to Hilti though.
