  • Sockeye are running strong here this summer and it is the perfect
opportunity to get out and chase after these great tasting fish! I put this video together in response to some of the questions I received one of my other videos. I hope this helps clear some things up on how I like to rig my setups. If you guys have any questions please leave them in the comments below and I will address them. Tight lines!

Do you plunk a sliding set up or a pyramid at the bottom with like a spreader and a couple different spin glos above when plunking for sockeye? Thanks!

I have run them both. Honestly I like the stationary with a spreader and multiple spin n glows best. I usually just run 2 spin n glows to make it easier to cast. And can always slide a plug down for a steelhead

What rod and reel do you personally use? Thanks for the video

***** Personally that will depend on where I am fishing. Most of the time I use my 8'6 10-20 old lamiglas paired up with a 6501C4 or 6501C3 Abu Garcia Reel. I spool up with 20-25lb mainline.

Could u use a wiggle hoochie

north west fishing addicts A wiggle hootchie might work. There would need to be enough current and distance off the bottom for the lure to work. Could be done from a boat much easier than bank I would think

Mark Abolofia Nope, but for some it might be. I had a few requests from a previous video to show how I rigged these up.
