    Couple things to add. Use the right size spin n glo for the hook . 3/0 hook use a sz.6 spin n glo. Quick way to gauge is take the fat end of the spin n glo if it fits in the gap of your hook perfect.. To big of a spin n glo will cover hook and make hooksets more difficult and to small of a spin n glo won't float your hook

    hey man, so to cinch that loop down tight without cutting your bait just add a little bead to your bait loop before pulling it up through the hooks eyelet

    And if you don't have a sinker swivel on hand you can use a clip swivel, it wears on your line faster especially over time but in a pinch it will work just fine! Keep your hook in the water and happy fishing.

    Wut up Ryan~! Great info I plan on using targeting channel cats here. I already use the loop knot and the spin-n-glo makes my chick'n livers better presentation~!

    I brought back some spin n glo of different sizes from my time in Alaska and the bass here in Missouri love them.

      Are you rigging them up the same way? Or topwater, or how are you fishing them?

      @@kevinneibling12 I use it kinda like a plopper, but I use a bullet weight so it will sink just below the surface.

    I was very stoked to get this same line setup out on the river but I immediately ran into the leader line and slider dropper line getting tangled to one another not just once but several times after casting out into the moving river. Suggestions on how to prevent lines from tangling to one another after casting out into the river!?!

    I use the tiniest spin n glo i can find, with a lik chunk of shrimp on a no.8-4 gamagatsu octopus barbless, just slay big bows out of the colombia river on those.
    I do find extra difficulty in keeping them on when they jump and i think its something to do with them rising and sinking quicker than your weight just pops the hook out, could just be the barbless but what i do know is its an instant panic attack when they start to jump while on my line

    Is it good for silver salmon ?

      It can be. However, targeting silvers with a slip-bobber set up is more preferable. We have a video showing how to rig a slip-bobber set up th-cam.com/video/rX1UCQx9bJE/w-d-xo.html . Thanks for watching!

    Interesting. So they're basically just bobber floats with slits cut in them and wings glued into those slits. I have floats in various shapes & colors (variety) and can easily cut the wings myself.

    I like to use a 10 lb test line for my sinker so if theres a hangup it will break and I dont lose my whole setup.

    • @JGunit
      @JGunit 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Do you just run the 10lb off the sinker slide then? Great idea.

    What size spin-n-glow golf ball size roe?

    • @alaskafishandgame
      @alaskafishandgame  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      A larger size spin-n-glo will help the roe stay afloat. You can also add a couple corkys rather than beads for added flotation.

    video is too far out away from what's happening. No close-ups, very hard to see or understand how to do these things for a novice.
