Not much different rigging than we use on the lower Skagit. I use a lighter test line from the 3-way swivel, to the lead, than the main and the leader. That way, if I hang up and can't break the rig loose, the lighter line will break free from the lead, (hopefully). I also tend to use more small plastic beads as knot 'bumpers". Up here we use sand shrimp, prawns, and salmon eggs, rather than tuna balls, for baits.
Thanks for the rundown on your rigging setup. I just got Salmon rod for trolling but theyll work well for this, Bimart had a sale on Okuma GSCs and low pro cold waters (both $119) they have line counters and we will run our lines out with a kayak if current isnt too crazy. We can note distance with the line counters to find the fish lanes.
Learning alot from your vids.... first try at hook and line for myself this year, think I got the tying and rigging ideas down just trying to get the reading of my line and the water bottom as well... great video
Aaron: I put together and tied same setup as shown in your video but I ran into leader line dropper line getting all tangled and wrapped around each other numerous times after casting into river. I used three way swivel. Any suggestions how to keep lines from tangling to one another!?!
Thats awesome, that kid is very knowledgable about fishing for his age. Kind of reminds me of me and my friends when we were his age but he seems a tad bit smarter!
Awesome video cool seeing how much knowledge that young brother has already. He taught me something I'm just learning plunking.
Yii. Right on.
Man..great team work!! Your nephew gonna be a great fisherman. Great job as always
Thanks 👍
Great info on the swivel to the 3-way. I have only caught steelhead on the plunk and this is a great tutorial. Looking forward to trying this
Thank you. Appreciate the compliment.
Aaron, you're a magician with knots. These would make for great (up close) Shorts. 🌊
Awesome!! Thanks for the information.
You bet.

@@johnnybearbrown1690 make your weight leader way shorter
Aaron light foot thank you brother. Great video. Hey I’m fishing the Clearwater river what plunking weight should I use? 8-10oz?
Im not familiar but whaterver keeps it on bottom.
@@aaronwhitefoot ok thanks. I’ll just use rocks with light line that will break free when fish bites
Yeah, thats the best i also do the molds or pyramids.
@@aaronwhitefoot yeah can’t beat those either. I also use railroad ties but I like to leave as small of footprint as possible.

Nice. Good info. Definitely need to experiment more with the tuna balls.
Keep up the great job brother. Killing it 100%.
is it the coho that are hitting in the shallows?
We were catching springers. Coho are running now for us.

What size cheaters are good for kings
There just normally one size.
What size rods are you guys running?
Deon Cross 7 half footers.
The added crickit track was annoying. Please don't add that again.
