Horses do change colors from warm season to winter season. So their fur will be different colors depending on thickness of coat & lighter in summer sun. One of the tells of this is the same horse is his natural walking gait the horse has which is consistent the same. The way he moves his head side to side as he walks is consistant.
No matter what color Rudnik is, he’s a big beautiful beast of a horse. 😊🐎

It surprized me so much as a teenager when I learnt that horses coats can undergo rather drastic color changes. My horse is dark bay and turns to almost black in winter. My vet also explained that the diet has an influence and that the different amount of minerals present in the food depending on the season has an influence on pigmentation. I find it fascinating!

@@g.flesch9731 Vitamins and minerals will impact color shade and intensity, however a palomino will not turn black (for example). But a horse's coat can look dull and lighter if its diet lacks copper, zinc and some aminoacids. That's what my vet told me, I'm not a specialist.
Manganese mineral is also a good mineral for horse coat coloring. I read somewhere that someone started using Redmond salt 🧂 from Utah salt mines, salt for people but just give it to your horse, because it's so rich in a lot of minerals. When I read that they said that their horse stopped using the salt lick. Horses salt lick are lacking most of the needed trace minerals
@@Tiisiphone My daughter's horse is an outdoor horse due to allergy to hay inside the barn. He has a 3 sided shed to get out of weather or sun. In the winter he gets more fur to keep him warm. She only uses a horse blanket if the temp dips. He is a pure white in winter. Great horse & he is so smart. He was without fellow horses 3 years before she got him. The other horses would nip his skin. Over time he learned horse social skills & became the alpha horse!
It’s so cool how his head position and gait are the same each time he walks towards you. His personality shows through. So loyal/faithful to you in his expression. The montage shows him to be a calm and sweet guy. My hats off to you for that. He absolutely trusts you. The revolving coat colors is a bonus.

He’s beautiful in all his shades no matter what he is. The first video I watched of yours I thought he was an Appaloosa, but realized in the next one I saw that he wasn’t. I never realized a horse’s coat could bleach out so much. I haven’t had a horse since I was young, but never remember their coats changing. Guess it was the difference in the original coat color and breed of horse. I find it fascinating.

I just can't say this enough. I just love this horse!!! He reminds me of the horse I had when I was a young girl. Same kind of personality. His mother was a solid coat appaloosa. When I lived in the Netherlands, I learned to adore Frisians. They’re a very old breed that like Henry Ford’s early autos ‘came in any color you wanted, as long as it was black.’ 😊 Frisians are ALL black, but even so, if they’re in the pasture a lot, you would swear they were dark bays. Nope! Just sun bleached. 😊 ❤

HE IS GORGEOUS & VERY MAJESTIC, ABSOLUTELY STUNNING.
I once bought a 5 year old stallion out of a kill pen. He didn't know that he was a stallion and loved hanging out with his gelding buddies. When I bought him, in January, he was a beautiful red chestnut with white peppered through. A true red roan. When he shed his winter coat that spring he turned almost white. I had him his entire life and he stayed light, almost white, he never went back to being that red chestnut. He would darken up in winter, and have some brown areas but never red.
What a bonus! One horse to love, train, care and pay for. And every few months it looks like a different horse, yet the training you put in and the character and knowledge the horse has, just continues on. It's perfect if you ask me! I think I would recognize that chonky perfectly rounded butt of Rudnik's just out in the field, lol ! I like him best when in 'dragon mode' and Arabian stallion mode. He really moves out nicely.

Definitely the same horse. The walk and body carriage is the same. He's gorgeous.❤ I'm guessing it's his seasonal coat change. One of the horses I use to ride ❤ was a teddy bear in the winter and a sleek beast in the summer.
He's definitely a blue roan in my book! I had a bay roan Welsh pony growing up - she had that same "ticked" coat in the summer but it was reddish and changed weekly in the sun, and she had the bay points, ears, muzzle, legs of a bay... In the wintertime she kept the black points but only her head stayed reddish brown, the rest of her turned nearly white like Rudnick! I love roans, always wanted a blue roan but didn't get one. Loved my pony though! :)
I call Rudnik the Transformer horse. I am intrigued by all the colours he can change into. No matter what, he is beautiful.

He is gorgeous. The velvet part of his muzzle is black rather than brown. I have heard that the color of the velvet on the muzzle is how black is differentiated from brown or bay. His is black so I would call him a blue roan. He’s lovely!

For goodness’ sake, people are idiots sometimes. I ride a Paint chestnut mare, minimal frame overo, she's an import from Texas (I live in Germany). Her summer coat is extremely short, silky, a gorgeous light orange with a metallic golden shine to it, her winter coat is a rich, dark auburn and very long and thick. I have been asked more than once if I was with a different horse by people. She has one blue eye, a very large white blaze and only very few, small, very distinct white markings on her lower belly and her neck, legs are all chestnut. She is really hard to mistake, being the only Paint horse in the stable, not only her coat patterns are unique, so is her entire physique. But people still think it's a different horse just because she is much darker in winter. I really don't get how people don't see the many little details in an individual horse.
