Tbh Cabenela never struck me as too creepy... He struck me as being Lynne's father figure (either foster or Uncle since I don't see him being her biological father) and the way he talks about her is less the creepy Baby talk, but overprotective father kinda baby talk.

Honestly seeing how female characters get treated in male-dominated fields such as police department in Asian dramas I've watched, I'd say the way his male colleagues treat Lynne is rather accurate. I remember recently watching this K-drama about detectives going after cold cases and there was a lot of focus on how male members treated the only woman in their station, especially when she joined the team. (Please watch Signal, it's good & actually calls out corrupt police and politics)
I was today years old when I realized during this video that this game is based on the joke: "Why did the chicken cross the road? -- To get to the other side." So many chicken themes they hit you over the head with. But also the joke was not about an actual road but about passing away. Going to the other side~ Which is what the whole game play is based on. Idk on whether to feel super smart or super dumb.

For anyone else confused about how the tornado headed girl can 'sense' a ghost, it's because she can't, she wasn't detecting you, she was detecting the spy microphone attached to the chicken, something a lot easier to detect with things like feedback and an odd bump on the chicken bone.
It's actually both! She can likely sense the spy bug but she ALSO can sense Sissel, it gets brought up again in later chapter where these two show up again (not spoiling more of it, but at that moment there isn't anyone else she would be refering to but Sissel - and it's made very clear). I assume it's supposed to be not only a plot tool to indimidate the player/not spoil their deal entirely but also be a "joke" about "woman's intuition" as Japanese media tends to have stuff like that here and there, with female characters being able to do/figure out something others can't.

It kinda is given an explanation though, she was kinda picked for this job because of it, as she's probably one of the only people with that skill. honestly it's a game that would benefit a ton from the gang's sense of humor. I'm a huge wimp, so the tension was getting to me, so to help me relax and get into it my brother started throwing in bits about stupid random stuff and it ELEVATED the experience. Dumb stuff like, starting during the first room of 999 (the ship cabin), Junpei's objective was ONLY to find a drink of water. But he couldn't just scoop it with his hands, or drink from a wine glass/anything not SPECIFICALLY labelled a "water glass" because that would be BARBARIC. Also, upon facing a locked door or gate, his first attempt to open it was just flailing his entire torso against it. tl;dr, more serious games like 999 are somehow made way, WAY funnier by adding quips and i support this 100% especially to break the tension for suspense-babies like me

I understand skipping the prison break, but I do hope Jello doesn't just cut his losses and skip the chapter that happens before that. It's not an exceptional puzzle or anything but I like the conversations between Sissel and Jowd in chapter 8. But yeah, chapter 9 is super annoying if you don't know exactly what you're doing

How exactly does the time travel thing work? Like if someone died at 1:00 and he waited a full hour before time travelling to save them, once the 4 minutes were up would he continue on in that same timeline at 1:04 or would he be sent forwards to 2:00 where he was before he went back? Or would he go to 2:04 to make up for the time he spent fixing things?
if someone dies at 1:00, they would time travel back to 12:56. if he traveled back at 2:00, you'd still go back to 12:56. afterwards you'd be back at 1:00

The game does establish that after fate is averted, time plays out as normal for the person saved, but the ghost goes back to the time they initially found the body. This is why people usually aren't in the same spots after returning to the present, and why Lynn starts actively waiting around for Sissel after he saves her life from the second time onwards.
