    Thank you so much!! Lately I have been asking myself what college I want to attend and I felt that the school I would attend would define my character. But, after watching your video I now understand that it isn’t the school that defines you rather you define yourself and your class thus slowly one defines their school. I still, with all my heart, want to get accepted into Dartmouth and that is why I watched your video and many others; however, now I feel stable knowing that it is fine to not get accepted to such a prestigious college. If more people had your mindset: as a human race we have the power to define and change the world for the better, I know the Earth would be in an excellent place. You’ve made me think differently, Thank you so much!!! I hope your doing great!!!

    This is actually first time “commenting” on your vid!! You inspired me to visit Dartmouth and I enjoyed the campus SO MUCH! My boss went to Dartmouth and my friend who goes to Dartmouth hosted me in her dorm room while I was visiting. SushiYa had the BEST 두부김치 ever, and I fell in love with Morano’s gelato. I’m applying for Early Decision, but still don’t know cuz some ppl say I barely have any chance 😢 I really hope to see you on campus if you are around!!! aw no worries you got this! and ooh both are very important. They need a holistic sense of who you are and of whether you'd be able to succeed at Dartmouth, so as rough as it is, you need to have strong stats and essays.

    Thanks for the video!. I am currently a senior in high school and just sent my application in to Dartmouth RD. I have a legacy of many generations of my dad's family attending and my grandfather donated to the school. I have an ACT score of 30, unweighted GPA of around 3.82 and have two AP classes, a half-dozen honors classes and other regular classes that I took in my high school. I have a little more than a dozen things on my resume and seem like a pretty well-rounded student. Do you think I have a likely chance of getting accepted?

    • @joelleolol
      @joelleolol  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hahaa sounds like you should know the answer to that!! ofc I think you sound like you have plenty of credentials in your favor. As I mention in the video, unfortunately college apps are pretty much a crap shoot, but sounds like most things are working in your favor! But your essays, interviews, etc. will all be the distinguishing factor to make you stand out against other students!

    • @joelleolol
      @joelleolol  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      of course! I'm so glad it was helpful for you! I don't have enough to say that would fill a whole video about financial aid at Dartmouth, but I do know that it is need blind for americans, permanent US residents, certain eligible non-citizens, and undocumented students in the states, but for international students it does take financial aid into account. However, there are loads of scholarships you can apply to, but I think looking at Dartmouth's admissions website would be the best way to get detailed and up to date info on that!

    Hi Joelle! I enjoy watching your videos because it motivates me to keep studying hard and train everyday to be a better diver so I can apply ED through diving! hey girl!! aww that's so encouraging to me thank you so much ahha I'm glad!! and hmmm Dartmouth should say on it's website about the subject tests but I believe most people take math II... and for athlete/ students in our outside of dartmouth, I'd say balance is key and rest is super important haha so just make sure that within everything you take care of yourself and aren't too hard on yourself because you perform worse under stress and exhaustion anyways. you'll do amazing thanks so much for commenting ahha I love talking to you guys!

    So what if I’ve been taking college classes since 9th grade and my gpa is fucked with a 3.3? Will they be nicer on me? I haven’t taken AP classes, I’ve only done duel enrollment. I’m currently a junior and I’m in 4 clubs (2 student governments, newspaper, girls who code) , 4 college classes and 2 online high school classes. I almost have my associates degree and I can graduate in 11th grade, I just choose not to.... also, how is Dartmouth for pre-med? how's its medical school?

      yes freshmen can get a single! it's not as common, but definitely possible. and you do change dorms every year! as for pre-med, a bunch of my friends were pre-med and a lot of them were able to get into great medical schools. haha mm I'd say it's actually very much based upon merit. Of course, it's always a weird balance as they're trying to maintain a good mix of ethnic backgrounds, but I definitely don't think they prioritize one group above the other on an equal playing field.

Extracurriculars: capable of making a college team, leadership positions (not just a variety of memberships)3. character: integrity, love of learning, compassion, capable of dealing with persons from all walks of life. 4. Interest in a specific college and able to say why you are interested and what have you done to learn about it. What can you contribute to the college and what can it contribute to you?
