  • This is a Quick how-to on how to maintain the Roomba S9.
I’ve been running this robot in my Home for about 1 year now (I bought it 2nd hand - barely used though).
It is a major upgrade from the older 800-series!
The new S9 has intelligent mapping, and navigates much better around your home, due to the intelligent navigation system.
Subsequently it also cleans our house much faster than the older model.
Thanks for watching! Comments and questions are always welcome 🤗

You are right about the rollers. I hate the loudness when they are new. Usually takes two weeks before they wear down a little. The issues is if they are worn too much they don't agitate carpet well.

This is a very good point. We have mainly hard wood and tile floors, so the old roller seems to work fine. I’m determined to try and find a way to wear down the new roller to avoid having to run it in extra loud mode for two weeks 😆 Thanks for chiming in though 👊🏻

@@icandodad007 if you have that loud noise the roomba is damaged, the roller module might be bend.
So I would recommend to ask roomba to send you a replacement module, if you still have the warranty

Thanks, but they’ve worn in now after a few weeks. Dont think anything was damaged though 🤔

@@icandodad007 I found that my long "haired" carpet (with like long fibres), i think you know what I mean, damaged the rollers badly, not only that, but the wheels began to wear also quite fast. After replacing it the rollers still sounded bad in the beginning, now they are better, only when transitioning from carpet to hard floor I get a loud sound.

I use a v8 Dyson animal edger vacuum to clean in the bin and surface of the filter after every house run.
That works great for keeping it looking brand new in the dust bin and stops the cleaning head from breaking.
I tried water and it was sticky and messy to clean. A portable vacuum edger knocks out the roomba bin cleaning in seconds and extends the cleaning head life by years.
That much dust in there will stress and break the cleaning head.

The rollers last much longer than six to twelve months. Just depends how much of a slob you are with your house. I've had my S9 since 2020 and my rollers still look new. But I also keep my house clean and I clean my rollers on a bi-weekly basis.

I’m guessing you don’t have many long-haired creatures in your house then ;-)
