    You should compare the Gorilla 375 pound to the Werner 375 pound one.

      That would be a more scientific comparison.

    I’ve had both I personally prefer the gorilla ladder mostly because the locking mechanism is easier
    Even tho you can’t see the whole locking mechanism as much in the gorilla after some practice you’ll feel it lock and hear the noise it makes

    You have to compare same kind of ladders of Type IAA or Type IA

  • @rejeanpaquet4375
    @rejeanpaquet4375 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    Gorilla MPX22 is IAA rated (375lbs) while the WERNER MT-22 is IA rated (300lbs), next time compare with WERNER MT-22IAA which is IAA rated (375 lbs), WERNER is a bit cheaper.

    Looking at these ladders a year later, the load ratings for these two brands have flipped. Werner - 375lbs and Gorilla - 300lbs.

    When layed flat, maximum extension, what is the actural length of the 22 foot ladders? What stops the hing point from working it self loose when using the ladder?

    It sure looks like the hinges are all opposite angled on both brands but maybe I’m wrong.

    Does help, Thanks. Im currently using the Gorilla and its very convenient , changes quick, and is quite stable. I have used the Werner too. For purchase, am leaning towards the Gorilla.

    Can you use Werner attachments on the gorilla

    Was looking to buy the Gorilla. Saw HD stocking the Werner one alot lately. Still wanted the Gorilla. Gorilla seems like the best bet even more after watching this. Thank you.

      It's better, but both usually are $99 at least 3 times a year during sales. Regular price is $219 for the Gorilla, got mine at $99 3 months ago. Same with Werner, list at $179, got it at $99 5+ years ago

    Can't compare these 2 can you.....because yhey are different work ratings..... which is why the Warner is 300lbs and gorilla is 375

    there are so many more pros/cons to compare,
    eg the footings of each, gorilla possesses rubber footings, while werner possesses what feels like a a hardened plastic, which seemed like it could be more suspectible to quick wear than gorilla's footings. the lead werner ladder which i was examining looked as it was stressed and beginning to crack from, what i imagine is people unsuspecting of the weight lift it out, then slamming it on the SMOOTH concrete warehouse HDx floor surface. if smooth concrete will beat it up, rough concrete surely will deteriorate it.
    the j hooks of the werner feel cumbersome to actuate while the gorilla rung locks are simple, however they're encased in plastic therefore everyone with a gorilla will want to ensure they avoid banging this part to avoid destruction of the flange handle. Although I would imagine there's a metallic T flange under the plastic knobs.
    When taking time to observe the differences between each, felt to me that the werner is lighter than the gorilla. A pro for werner, at $199 from HDx, it will break down into two supports for scaffolds without any additional accessory bracket necessary, where as the gorilla equivalent currently at $179 ($20 less expensive than the gorilla 18' multi purpose ladder at HDx unsure reasoning behind that) but the gorilla does require a bracket priced at something like $23.50 to setup the interior ladder additional scaffold base.
    Still I'm happy that I chose the gorilla, I dont have a need for scaffolding at this time, and don't expect I will have one any time soon.
    Originally I was in pursuit of the werner 20' multipurpose with built in footing levelers for uneven terrain. I wanted it for working on steps, however the flanges of those devices had shown flex and wear from others testing it out, i concluded that it would eventually fracture, that would not be pleasant having to squat or bend over to extend for uneven ground. werner has some spiffy extras to distract people, always pull the unit out and explore its features before you haul one away.
    OH, examining quality assurance, gorilla has lifetime warranty and will fix ladders if damaged meanwhile I could not find any recognition of a lifetime warranty on werner's website, which also stated they do not garuntee repair of ladders which experience structural failure. Seems odd a company with a reputation of ladder american made construction would not possess such support to products. o well. I feel this was the biggest deciding factor for me, the lack of product support beyond purchase.
    When inquired for input from a HDx employee, they were unable to explain the sale prices and preferences between different models, yet two close friends recommend gorilla, and on check out the cashiers acknowledge they love their gorilla ladders, also didn't not know they could expand the ladder for scaffolding. shrug.

    Good video , I’m disappointed you didn’t show how the gorilla rubber foot pad is 3/4” inch thick compared to the 1/16” thick rubber foot of the Werner

    • @mikeg1433
      @mikeg1433 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the info. That’s a pretty important yet easily overlooked detail.
      I’m assuming you own the Gorilla? If so, are the foot pads replaceable?
      I had the previous generation to current model 22’ Little Giant for a few years (push in levers, instead of the pull and twist lock pins like the Werner has in this video) and the stupid dinky plastic foot assemblies would always eventually break off.
      Hoping gorillas is better

      @@mikeg1433 my gorilla is replaceable but I haven’t had to replace nor have I see that part for sale. The werner rubber is extremely thin

    @ 0:53 sec u really grab the Warner and give it a good shake. @ 1:14 u daintily grab the gorilla with your finger tips and act like your shaking it but not really. This was a very biased review. That said I don't own either and that's why I'm here but now moving on 👎
