If I told my friends I just watched a 30 minute video about ladders, they would laugh at me… but it was well worth it. Thanks for making this, I learned a lot!

Nice video. I am a regular-joe not in the trades. Despite that, I still do a lot of work with ladders. I own 3 Werners (4, 6 & 8 foot step ladders). I also own several Keller step and extension ladders. IMHO, if a person can't lift and move a ladder, they should hire a professional. That way they can save a trip to the E.R.

I whole heartily agree with the angle of the ladder in relation to fatigue. I do drywall repairs and painting at an apartment complex 2 days a week and used a 5ft ladder (which was the appropriate size btw) then I switched to the Werner pro platform. At the end of the day I am so much less fatigued in my feet, calves, and lower back by using the platform compared to a ladder.
Great video guys. While I do not agree with your choice of preferred ladder, I understand now why some trades do. Work safe yall

After many many yrs professionallyon a ladder I broke my ankle stepping onto the little giant from a shed roof. thing just went sideways on me. They are not stable at all, and with the added weight it's just not worth it. I'm currently looking for a new ladder.

I'm a paint and drywall guy, primarily paint. A few years ago, I bought a couple of the Werner aluminum X3 ladders. They have the narrower feet like the little giant. I'm not a fan of the stability factor of thoseladders. After a few months, I sold one and kept the other.
It's a niche ladder for me. Used flipped out with a Pivot or a Ladder-Ade in a stairway that you don't feel like dragging a 16' extension ladder into.
I recently picked up an X5 to replace the lighter X3 for the same tasks, but also more stairway flexibility.
If it wasn't for the narrower feet the Little Giants look like better thought out ladders and still being made in the USA is a big plus.
All my extension ladders, step ladders, and work platforms are Werner though, except for a rogue 20' Louisville and a few Gorilla platforms.

There is so much info in this video. Thanks for that. The different things you pointed out are things that the everyday, non-professional person might not consider. Those sharp edges on the Werner probably wouldn't have crossed my mind... until I cut myself on them. So, I'm glad you brought that up.
The one thing I really like about the Werner Leansafe is the adjustable back legs for steps/uneven ground. But, there are more aspects of the Little Giant that has me leaning toward purchasing it.
Again, a very informative, helpful video. Much appreciated.

Excellent comparison! One of your best tool reviews imo. The Little Giant is my favorite ladder ever. However, as you mentioned, the tool holder is definitely lacking. I’m constantly struggling to find a spot for the tools I’m using. I added the option outside corner brace for the extended portion which is very handy. Makes it slightly heavier but not by much.
