I have the exact same ladder and I love it. My boss had a hissy fit when he had to buy a 10ft step ladder for my coworker so I thought I shouldn't ask for any ladders soon, but I needed a 6ft, and 8 ft step ladder and 20 ft extension ladder for my job but we didn't have any spares. So I got this and was amazed at the stability, I used to hate using step ladders outside but with this ladder, with the levelers, I have full confidence. Also boss man saw my ladder and thanked me for my initiative and looking out for the company, the next paycheck I got a raise. Nothing but good memories with this ladder.
I've used the Little Giants for 35 years. I've fallen off of them twice. Both times, same scenario. I was standing on them just like you when you were spraying that ceiling and I leaned enough to get my center of gravity off the center of the ladder. Ladder goes the opposite way and I was headed to the floor. Luckily, I only broke my wrist on one of those falls. Love these ladders but like any ladder you MUST constantly be aware of your position. Be safe out there.

This is my "go to" as well for my handyman business. Been lugging around 2 ladders for one purpose. The only problem watching your videos is, "oh, I need that too!" Also purchased the gorilla ladder platform, 3rd hand as well as the drywall sander with vacuum attachment. Love that thing, the vest too! What a time saver. Love the videos. I don't have the patience to do any. I'm lucky to take before, during and after pictures.

Thank you! This was very helpful. I just got this exact ladder for my mural business. I found it heavy also but I thought that was just me not being strong enough, so thanks for confirming it is, in fact, heavy. Still seems way safer and more reliable than others.
I have had Little Giant ladders for a long time have had some stolen. The one I have now is 30+ years old and has spent a long time on top of my truck in the weather, abused, dropped, ... and still works beautifully, it was used almost every day. When I purchased it it was about twice in adjusted dollars what they are now but it was an extremely good buy. My only complaint is it has gotten heaver over the years or maybe it is just me as I will soon be 66.
Your old one was Made in Utah and is a better ladder than the ones now made by Suzhou Zhongchuang Aluminium Products Co. Ltd. and Suzhou PICA Aluminum Industry Ltd., in China
I also picked up two of those third hand tools after watching you do those cabinets like a year ago or whenever it was. It's so much fun to not need an extra body to hold up carcasses anymore. I bet my tool collection is a near clone of yours...
I have purchased and used so many tools that I have seen you use. I thought I owned all the tools needed but then you come up with something better.
I would say the best purchase for me was the Fastcap 3rd hand poles ( I have 4 now) and the Pony cabinet pulls "seam tighteners" . I have the ladder too.. I love it especially how it fits in the back of the pickup and I don't need to strap in down.
Little Giant held the patent on this ladder for years and were the only ones making them. We purchased one and if I remember right we gave over $400 for it, but have had it for almost 30 years, banged around in vans, trucks, trailers and top of vans and job sites. Still works beautifully. We bought a new one for another van and had accessory levelers that we purchased that were a pain in the but to use but were useful. I like the way yours function, but probably will not purchase another one as the doctors have told me to stay off of ladders and the wife is the enforcer. Thanks for the video. I love my 5 step little giant. I found it used in perfect condition for $99 so could not pass it up. The added Small platform Saves my legs when working more than 5 min. I love having a 22’ ladder that fits in my Tesla model 3.
It is way to fricken heavy though so I also got a 3 step for smaller jobs.
Bought one this past Black Friday sale. Got a great deal and love the ladder.
I had one of those ladders for years. Very compact and sturdy. As I got older found it to be quite heavy and difficult to raise, lower etc.
I bought mine this past Black Friday sale at Lowe’s for around $90-$100! Love it! Very handy and versatile! Only thing is I wish I had gotten the 22 ft one instead of the 17 or 18ft one but it gets the job done. I’m 6’3 and 330lbs so still a little nervous on the 300lb weight limit but hell we all know those are just suggestions! 😂
I have this ladder. I LOVE it! We have 8ft ceilings and 16ft ceilings with a staircase. I like that I can use it all over my house, inside and out.
Back in time doing handyman work I loved my ladder, 1 ladder did every thing I needed, I did also have a 4 foot step ladder which was handy 90% of time.
First time I saw the little giant ladder advertised I thought it was awesome...this really shows just how versatile it is. Though I gotta say I would not be using it like you show when you installed those light fixtures lol Wow, you definitely are braver than most people! That whole board across the railing to the ladder trick, yeah I’ll pass on that I think lol

I've used a Little Giant for four years. Very versatile ladder. Thanks for the suggestion on lubrication products and where to lubricate on the ladder for the best operation.
I bought the LG ladder 20’ in 2017 and it was definitely a solid unit(although heavy). I bought the Gorilla Ladder 26’ MPL in 2018(although heavier) and I find it to be much more sturdier and a lot less flexing when fully extended. Both solid multipurpose ladders.

I love my little giant ladders. I had the first one since 2004... still works great and never had to repair it. It will pinch you when taking back down if not careful. But the zones solved that and much easier to use. But love them both and all attachments make them nice.

I got one of these about a year or so ago for general use around the house, such as cleaning out the gutters and putting up Christmas lights - the extendable legs help when using on uneven ground and leaning against trees. Believe it or not, I actually transported it home using a bicycle (with a trailer). And yes, WD-40 fixes nearly everything that duct tape doesn't

Sometimes they are the only ladder for the job. I only use them as an extension ladder when absolutely necessary as they are clumsy to extend without help. The most useful thing for me in my work is the ability to extend one side longer than the other to keep you closer to the wall as you get higher.
I watched a ton of reviews on this ladder, and this is probably the best review because it shows it actually being used. Also, it’s being used exactly how I am hoping to use it, over a banister to change out a light fixture about 20’ high, like you did!!
Hopefully mine will work out just as well. I bought the 22’ model today, lightly used for only $100; such a bargain. I think I’m going to end up spending more on the accessories such as the step plate attachment and tool caddy, etc as I did on the ladder itself, lol 😂.

2 years ago I got a Little Giant Flip-N-Lite stepladder didn’t need anything crazy like a ladder but I really like it. I’ve been recently looking at the Little Giant King Kombo which looks pretty cool.
Not to fond of heights myself , acquired mine at a discount . Works wonders, with certain attachments. Best ladder I’ve ever owned & best investment .
I have one of the OG little giants for years and man it is indestructible. I leave it outside under my deck in rain, sun, snow etc. I have never had to lube or do any maintenance. AS mentioned it is heavy but very versitile.
Great video, I keep a telescope ladder behind my seat in the back of my truck and I keep a step ladder in my bed , telescope is good for my if I need to get in a attic with no steps
I have two 17' ladders like these, but the more simple ones.(I bought a second one in a pinch on a job I was doing. I really needed a second one that day). One is a Harbor Freight and the other is a Gorilla ladder. I actually prefer the harbor freight.
I absolutely love them but sometimes I'll just grab my lightweight Werner step ladder.
They are very sturdy and versatile.
I got this ladder after watching your first video installing the light fixture on a high ceiling. I love the ladder, my only complaint is that it moves too much when using this ladder in the extension ladder. did a light bulb replacement on the exterior of a home; height was 24' high. climbing that high and having the ladder shake while I am going up was scary AF... but GREAT LADDER!!!
two little giants and a decent plank make for a great mobile scaffold. The lower sections will separate for that purpose but if you need to go higher, two full sized ladders does the job especially if you have ladder jacks that will hold a full sized scaffold platform.
Purchased mine about thirty years ago when I built my house. I do like the updates they have made though.
I bought a Canadian Tire knock-off version of this for Christmas, regular $366 on sale for $200 (Canadian dollars, that is, which trades at about 75 cents U.S.) The only feature it's missing is the adjustable feet, but other than it seems pretty much identical in features and stability. The step ladder adjustability is terrific. My only issue so far was today, taking down the Christmas lights outside that were strung along the edge of a porch overhang (so no wall below) and maybe 17-18 feet off the ground. I have a proper extension ladder but wanted to try this one out. There's a 6" x 10" support beam that runs the length of the overhang, and so the job entails extending the ladder to the specific height that enables its top ends to lean up against that beam, so I can climb up and detach the lights.
I have to say, compared with the regular extension ladder, the multi-ladder was a real monster to get extended to that length. It was impossible to lay it on the ground, extend it, and then walk it upright, as the extended length is more than double my body and arm length, hence the top wants to tip back on you once the center of gravity is higher than your reach - and it's VERY top-heavy, so mere muscle isn't enough to counteract that amount of levered imbalance.
What I ultimately did was lay it down and extend it to about 14 feet, then walked it to an upright position, holding the balance with my left arm while muscling the top half straight up the last 3-4 feet. However, even the top half alone is heavy as sin when you have to lift it with one arm while simultaneously holding the lower part and handling the J-locks with the other arm. And then, of course, every time two rungs from the lower and upper sections need to pass each other, you have to figure out how to get your lifting arm repositioned without letting go, because if you let go the top section will drop like an anvil!
I managed in the end, but it was ridiculously fussy and difficult, and I would just go back to using the regular extension ladder if there's no smarter way to accomplish this objective - but that kind of negates a big reason for having this very versatile ladder in the first place!
I've been Googling to see if anyone has come up with a smarter technique to negotiate the extension capability, but so far no luck. If anyone has any thoughts, please chime in. Cheers!

Had a harbor freight multi that broke after 6 months, bought a gorilla that got stolen and then bought this exact one because of the leveling feet. Every ladder should have leveling feet. It's so much safer with 4 on the floor instead of 3 1/2. Also, didn't see you mention it, but there is a stand you can buy that hooks onto the ladder so you can stand on it or set things. Great platform for when you're working on electrical up high.
Nice. I have 2 of the step children to the Little Giant, the Gorilla Ladder. Cost around $100 for my shorter one about 15 yrs ago. It folds to about 4 ft tall or so and reaches a 1 story roof. That one has been awesome for me. Then I need a taller one. It’s similar to that LGs size to around 6 ft folded down and reaches about the same height. Home Depot had that on sale 2 summers ago for $120 so perfect. That too has been awesome. They made some nice subtle upgrades to the design. I had wanted a little giant but always pricey and the Gorilla is a great alternative for someone interested
I do lawn care and I use this ladder for tall hedges and bushes. Make sure the two feet that can't level are touching and then kick down the levelers (usually just on one leg). Wouldn't use any other ladder.
Fixing to buy the same ladder tomorrow. I'm starting a small painting company and even though I have about 10 ladders I want to knock it down to 1 or 2 and think this is the way to go.
Dude, you are the handyman of the century! If there is ever a Handyman Olympics I want you to represent the USA. That said, the ladder and plank deal almost made me change the channel. If I ever hire someone to install lighting that high I will instruct them NOT to use that method, don't want the liability!
I got this ladder back when it went on sell during black friday at Lowe's for 100 bucks off. I brought it so I could have one ladder that would let me do everything I needed to in and outside my house.

I've been using them for the past 3 yrs and LOVE them. The have a quick slide adjustment, and then you twist them like a turn buckle.
Not sure on the load rating, but I've used them in a few non conventional ways and they hold up GREAT

I remember a coworker of mine taking a pretty good fall with one of those. Not a fan of ladders in general but I can never trust one of those. I love to ski and no ski does everything well, that's why I have a few pairs, they do what I have for very well. When i am up 24 feet I don't want to have to think about all of that crazy linkage. I get why someone would use it, but not me.
I have the Home Depot version of this I forget what brand name is on it. I agree with everything you say on this. Home Depot version doesn't have have the self leveling legs unless I have completely missed that feature, which is possible. LOL I would agree they aren't so much heavy as they are unwieldy. Old school step ladder you can carry and control one handed and still carry something heavy in the other hand. This style of ladder you almost need to 2 hands it so the wide bottom doesn't smash everything you pass by. That would be the only down side I have with it.
Also another nice feature you missed is you can stand on the top step of this kind of ladder.

If you are doing Amazon Affiliate links they have that ladder a few dollars cheaper than Lowes. I have one that does not have the telescoping legs and use it more than any other ladder I have. Just using a minivan to work out of so limited space. Also, have a really old fold-up ladder that I am still using at the house. Probably 30+ years old.

I keep the gorilla equivalent in my truck and it has been great. Now that I see the leveler on the little giant, I have to have it. At least I can afford it because I follow the Handyman Business Channel
I have this types of multi positions ladders (for staircase only). I guess my only question would be: what's the weight on that ladder? My werner (same length) weigh about 43lbs the gorilla version same length is 38 lbs.
I am a high-ceiling chandelier installer and i prefer to use A-frame ladders. Ceilings over 23-ft i use scaffoldings. The biggest chandelier that i worked on is a Maria Theresa 8-ft x 8-ft, 84 bulbs, 600 lbs, 3 days, 3 guys to finish it.
You nailed it. Really the only downsides to those ladders is the weight. Other than that, awesome ladder.

I have the 22ft with the levelers on the bottoms, I think it's a heavy lil FCUK'r. I'll be picking up either the 13 or 17ft. I generally don't need more then 13 anyway.

Actually that is the same size I have but I agree the weight of that thing is awkward. Mine is older no wheels and no single leg adjustments. I like that one

I was ready to unfriend you if you didn't like this ladder. I've had one for about 20 years and it's far and away the best system IMO.
I have had to replace some worn parts and that has been easy as well.
Have you tried the step that they make for these? They slide onto whatever ladder rung you need and will hold body weight for a makeshift work platform.
Very good video. Do you know how high the Little Giant Ladder 22 ft. will reach with the "A" frame extended? I need to replace the light bulbs in my garage and the ceiling is 15 - 20 ft high.

Needed a ladder to clean gutters i got the 25 foot leveler its heavier than i expected but I’m right at the weight limit and its very stable

I believe they sell collapsible walk boards. You will need something to hold both ends. Another ladder or a staircase or something.

Fuck the ladder wheres you get that sweatshirt brothah!? Lol I'm a painter. They have the self leveling extension ladders now that I use instead of a ladder buddy. Trust me at first thought it was for DIY yuppies but after setting up an extension ladder on top of a roof with a ladder Jack and pick across to the ridge and you're painting 40 feet up with 1 foot of my ladder on an uneven ladder buddy is scary as shit. Being able to extend one foot to level out a ladder on stairs and roofs is literally a life saver. 👍
I’ve got the same ladder just with a different name and it’s as heavy as hell.
How do you secure it upright in your trailer? Right now mine is clamped upright against the wall of my van with basic wood clamps but I’d like to find a more secure method.
Lean it up against the workbench and I have used a clamp in the past.
