The missing spring is usually due to owners trying to correct the hood deforming. It's a known issue that 60 hoods get twisted because the springs lose their strength enough for the weight of the hood, so the passenger side droops a bit. When the truck sits with the hood prop up too much for too long, you get a hood that sits too high when closed on the drivers side. They seem to think removing the driver side spring will help, but it can't because the prop keeps the driver side higher always. I think the only fix would be to put a stronger spring on the passenger side to counter the affect of the prop.
I personally dig the black on tan look. That’s gonna be another great truck when you are finished with it. Love the trick about the non-abs 4 runner booster.
My rig is a mixture of black, chrome, and white…. Looks good but i wish I could see it fully chromed. The bumpers, grills, and body chrome bits like vents and plate light were backed out. I didn’t chef the black rims and went back to chrome steelies and love the look.
Why does the truck sound so good? The 2F has a rumble I haven’t heard! Did you do something to the exhaust?? I even noticed on your first time starting it... sounds like a freaking warplane!
Oooohh hahaha... I’m doing a project right now too dude, been a year and a half process being out of college and getting my 2F rebuilt on my 60. Thanks for the vids! Doing a custom exhaust on my rig-- what kind of exhaust header do you recommend?
oh yes the famous cardboard "to do" list. Have seen this many restoration videos! So cool ! carry on and make the Cruiser live again!
Really enjoying the fj60 episodes I’d love to see some on a diesel motor 👀
Truck looks great! I just blacked out my front end as well. Love the look of it.

Improves braking as well with that booster which I like
I honestly don’t think you can go wrong with either keeping it original chrome or blacking it out. Looking forward to following this!
Love that. I really liked the black out look honestly
Great video bro!

Have you ever dine a De-smogging video - how to? There seems to be a lot of contradictory info on the interwebs - maybe you would consider one? Cheers

Sick won’t go back once your in one

Nice tip about the 4-runner brake booster. Since it is desmogged , is that carb a CityRacer?
its a good trick. is a stock carb. not city racer.
Any tips on where you find such sweet rigs? I’m always looking for a new fj55 project but they are getting harder and harder to find.
They are out there just need to keep looking. That 55 in the back of my videos could be forsale.
