    I picked up this lantern a while back and it's been an impressive lantern so far. As you'd expect from Goal Zero, it is high quality, and has all the features you'd expect from them, including the ability to recharge from a solar panel, or any USB recharging device.

    For my on/off button, I used a small mountain of glue and that solved the problem of having issues "finding" the button. One my other light (same one) I glued a piece of plastic on the button. Now it's raised and sturdy as well.

    Purchased two of these Goal Zero Lighthouse Micro Charge Lights from REI -- and I'm definitely impressed. They worked great on my last backpacking trip, casting more than enough light in the tent. But that's not why I'm so impressed. Here's the real reason why I'm posting this comment: Two weeks ago, I wanted to test just how long a fully charged Goal Zero Lighthouse Micro Charge Light would last. The specs say that it should last (fully dimmed, in lantern mode) approximately 170 hours. Well, guess what? It lasted 11 days -- or approximately 264 hours. Now, admittedly, I left it on inside of my home where the average temp was probably always above 65 degrees. But still, I was amazed at how it performed -- producing light for nearly 100 hours MORE than the specs. Probably the best $30 I've ever spent.

    Brilliant light. Probably costs them easily under $5 to make and sells for $25. God bless America!

    I recently got the lantern only Micro and that sucker is bright for something so small and light. I agree that power button is stiff but it's probably so you can just toss it in a bag and go without accidentally turning it on. I can see all sorts of uses for it due to its compact size.

    I've had one for ages & no need for clips or krabs to attach to the hanger...
    Just use a loop of 550 or similar though the hanger. Then loop that through your ridgeline & hey presto.
    Piece of cake, light, easy to use, won't scratch your Lighthouse Micro & will sort your issue out.
    Hope this helps :)

    where did you find this for $19?????
    But I LOVE this and bought four, lost two over multiple trips. I took it on one kayak trip and the rest of the people in the group loved it so much, the next year half the paddlers had bought the Lighthouse-Micro.

    Nice light! I know it wasn't the point of the vid but I spotted the paria outdoors 15 degree bag. I've recommended that bag so many times already. My buddy Josh loves his.

    That's pwm dimming. Basically it's just turning on and off the light really fast.

    How do you replace the battery in this? Does the black end screw off?

    Just received one. Can’t get it to switch on and stay on. Press the button the torch switches on then starts cycling thru the light options. Can’t get it to stay on one light.

    Has anyone had one of these for any length of time, like several years ? I'm just wondering about the lifespan of the battery . I'm looking for multiple light sources for my looooong term prepper storage . Thx !

      If you've any knowledge of diy or how to open and close cases. That battery- which I assume is an 18650 should be fairly easy to replace. Possibly even with a higher capacity 6000 mAh one.

    cool item, but is it ipx 7 rated? and on the camera on the low mode you can see pwm.

    • @BackcountryExposure
      @BackcountryExposure  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I may have miss spoke, it is IPX6 Rated.
      pwm?

    • @TheFossilChannel
      @TheFossilChannel 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ipx6 is good ! i was wondering because the usb input is on the outside with no rubber seal for the contacts. Pwm = Pulse width modulation. Some circuits in led techonology use this to control brightness levels I think. When you dimmed your light I could see the Frequency Hz loop of the leds.

    You complain to munch . All the thangs you don’t like I think are good . The button being small and hard to push on means it won’t get turned on accidentally . The hanger is perfect the way it is. Most convenient option for multiple ways of hanging

    They really shouldn't have two similar models. (flash and no flash) 5 dollar separation. Misleading. I'm trying to figure out how 2 LEDs last 170 hours and 4 LEDs last 170 hours. I'm guessing on the absolute lowest dim setting. It is a decent product and robust. This company makes great stuff but, it's a bit expensive. (Note: USB has no cable = short and etc.)

    They give nice light BUT the first one did switch bij itself to the three options. As it was havind short circuit.
    The second did work well but after two days did the same..just hopping over all the time.
    So anyone has the same??? i really like it but want reliable kit!!!!
    Send one back yesterday..so the other will follow

    The opening part (light on the hammock) of the video is misleading...because the camera is much more sensitive than your eyes...150 lumens is not that bright in real life...

    They make some neat stuff, but it is all overpriced. Their power banks are way too high, I build my own for a fraction of the cost. I am a little shocked that they are able to sell their products due to just the cost alone. There are many other companies that have portable batteries with as much or more power for less money. One has to just shop around.
