Thanks! I hope I covered everything as I've had loads of questions recently regarding floor time. I try to give them as much space as possible because as you know Willow loves to run her laps!
So glad I could help! It's amazing what we miss when we're walking around at our eye level and not our pets! Also we've held a few contests in the past few months so I won't be doing one for reaching 5000 subscribers because I'd like to do something when we open the shop in September. :)
Oh my goodness, Ollie's green lettuce chin, hehe! I love the beautiful orang fur behind on the back of Willow's neck. :) Loved the video as always! Great tips and adorable footage. ;) Thank you for making this video, I'm sure it helped many people and gave them new ideas, like me!
Honestly bunny proofing a larger amount of area then sticking to just one room will help. Hallways are always great as they usually are free of clutter and electronics :) Also keeping things tidy and clutter free so your bunny has more room to play, use this as a guide if there are cords on the floor etc. The more bunny proofing in the apartment you do the more space your rabbit will have to safely play :)
I think the easiest is some kind of fencing to block them off, whether it's just a long line of nic grids zip tied together and put right in front of the baseboards (you could line hidey houses etc every once in a while to keep these in place) or I've seen some people place like a miniature white picket fence in front of them - same kind of idea. You can try the spray but I never found it worked to deter the rabbits from chewing but it made me gag everytime I walked by that area of the room! lol
You know I have people ask me about this but I can't take credit for it. Ollie does have some yellowish feet off and on because he's a little messy but I try to stay on top of his cage to prevent this. Willow has impeccable cleaning skills and keeps her house and herself in top top condition lol. I do notice their paws get stained green when I bring them outside occasionally but they've usually groomed that off themselves within a few days.
Where did you find the nic grids in that size and how much did they cost each. Everywhere I'm looking seems to have them in really small dimensions or they cost a ton just for one in which I would need like 10 to 20.
I'm sorry I don't but have you ever checked out the forum BunSpace? I know you can add and rate vets so you may be able to find one in your area. I had put my vet on there for people living near me who were also looking for a rabbit savvy vet! I completely understand, it can be a very nerve racking experience!
Thanks for the video! This gave me the idea to use our hallway for floor time when I can't take my bunny outside (I live in Arizona, so we get a lot of extreme whether)
I have a question, @BudgetBunny , I have a good amount of space in my room, not too big and not too small, just right. But I don't know what to do, my rabbits get under my bed ALL the time, and chewing on the w old of my wall underneath it. I don't know how to block it off. So I feel that if I let them out, they won't come out from underneath! So a lot, I can't let them have floot time, well untill my Dad makes a playpen for them. I don't know what to do untill there! And then we don't have a big house at ALL! So there are no other rooms in the house to let them run around in!😧😳🐇🐰🐇🐰🐇
I lure them to my hand with some veggie and then start petting them. While they're relaxed I scoop them up with my other hand. If they are being fiesty I wait until they're in a tunnel or a bed, then lift that entire thing with the guinea pig in it to their floortime area.
Do you think you could make a video about how you keep ollie and willows feet white? I keep my rabbits cage clean but his paws are still grey ish. When we got him the fur was white. Do you think maybe the grass outside could have stained it? We take him outside in a playpen sometimes.
Did I reply to this already? Sometimes I don't notice new comments in my feed. I think they come as a pretty standard height which is around 4 feet. Even at this height my rabbits were ALWAYS escaping lol. I do believe you can also buy a cover that fits over top so that may be an option you might want to look in to if you're planning on leaving your rabbit unattended. ;)
Love helpful videos like this. The one problem I have though is the white wooden base boards on the corners of doorways and hallway floors. They chew on them often. Any suggestions? I heard Bitter Apple Spray.
I don’t have a lot of experience with different rabbits, just the two I’ve had. But my rabbit lives on a wooden floor so potty accidents can be really bad. However my rabbit is very good at using his litter boxes. They are large cat sized litter boxes. I noticed you only have one. I may be mistaken and just didn’t notice another. However, This may be why your rabbits have accidents. Bunny’s also sometimes don’t like sharing litter boxes. Just to try and help you out like your videos have helped me 😊
We just got a brand new 6 week old baby holland lop this week. He's our first bunny. I've done my research and know that wire floors aren't acceptable inside his large indoor hutch so we made a linoleum flooring with grass mats. He really likes playing wiht the mats, flipping them around and "burrowing" under them but he doesn't really lay on them much. Now I've recently heard that hard floors like wood or linoleum can still cause sore hocks. I tried putting fleece and cotton blankets down but he just wants to chew them to bits. I'm so nervous about him ingesting something that I'm not sure what to do. I've watched other bunny videos and it seems that others such as 101rabbits use cheap carpet mats and fleece but our bunny is so young and a big chewer I don't feel comfortable leaving him alone in his hutch at night with those things. Any suggestions?
bitsandclips i have an idea you could stick with the lino and just get a fleece cover part of the cage and just place bricks in each corner the bricks will be too heavy for the bun and this will give him a spot to just chill i have my rabbit run in my room and i have carpet and i have covered a 2x4 space with lino and her loves to cool down on there and also in his pet store cage i use aspen so yeah just an idea
Is it ok if my rabbit is free range all day and shut away at night in his dog pen because when I shut him away in his pen he tries to get out for 5 mins
No it is much too small - they could fit their paws in there but these heaters were left over from the house being electric heat and it was converted to gas before we moved in. They are still in the house as it would be a big job to remove them but they are disconnected and not functional. If however you had working heaters in your house then you would definitely want to block them off from little bunny feet!
Dear BudgetBunny, I am finally getting a rabbit. I'm so excited but, the bad thing is my dad is making me keep it outside in the barn. We would proboly keep him in my horse's stall, away from any danger. But, do you think that's a good idea? I really want to keep my new bun safe. So, can you help me? Please Reply ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Dixie
Okay thank you very much I am just very scared for my bunny, I don't know a vet that is specialized in rabbits near my neighborhood, and I don't want to go to any vet. Would you happen to know of any in Los Angeles?
My family are moving to a small apartment within a week, and my mom is being really nice by letting me keep my dear bunny. Do you have any tips for maximizing space?
I have a big house cause it was my gmas old house and it's really big so me and my dad have a lot of extra rooms and one has a glass door so for floor time I just put her in there and close the door and sit with her but my point is it is possible to have a room with no cords and lamps
We use storage containers from Wal-Mart for our litterboxes. In their condos they aren't able to move them because what we actually did was purchase two and bolt one to the side of the cage. The container we use as the litter box fits right in so it prevents them from moving it and makes it easy for me to lift in and out.
At my dollar store they have baby blankets for a dollar and they are fleece ? Can I use that as a place for a bunny to sleep or all over the cage to walk on ?
Hi, i have a bunny named angel and shes 2 she gets a lot of space because my dog has a huge pen outside by her hutch and i can close the door and the cool thing is that a window is above it and i can watch her when shes in there.
Hi, I have a Holland Lop type of bunny, and I really need your opinion on whether i should neuter my male bunny he is going for his 4 month and I just dont know what to do? At this time I am not looking to get him a friend any time soon. What should I do? Hope you can help me with this situation :)
Hi, I'm thinking about maybe buying a dog x-pen for my bunny (not as a permanent cage though) I was just wondering how tall do you think it should be? I was looking at one that's not overly expensive from walmart and i didn't really know how tall it should be. If it helps I'd say my rabbits just a tad bigger than Ollie :) Hope you can help me
Oh no! Yeah I don't think the pillows would be a good idea under a wider space like a bed. I would use them in really small spaces like behind a cabinet that is almost right to the wall anyways. If it's really tricky for you to wedge it in there it'll be really tricky for them to get it out. For a bed I would recommend making a barricade of nic grids that just surrounds your entire bed. They can just be a series of them all zip tied together and placed against the bed frame.
hi there! What breed is willow?? I have a bunny that look exactly the same and couldn't figure out what breed she is (she's a rescue rabbit). Thanks a lot~!
I would recommend whilst your bun is having floor time to sit quietly in the middle of the room, not making any noise, any eye contact, just not interacting with him whatsoever. Eventually your rabbits curiosity should get the better of him and he should come up to sniff, nudge, groom, climb on you etc. depending on the nature of you rabbit this can take anyway between a minute or two or maybe even a couple of hours. When your rabbit comes up to you ignore him at first, and just let him investigate you. Repeat this process for a few days to a week, still ignoring him when he come over. After a week or two (maybe more if your rabbit is shy) when he comes up you can offer a treat (slice of carrot, fruit, pellets). Repeat the treating process for a while and then you can begin to gently pat your bunny when offering the treat. You can also try after this process of feeding your rabbits pellets or veggies by hand, so they get used to you. Also make sure that when you are interacting with your bunny that you wash your hands, as the smell of other humans, cats, dogs and birds can make them frightened. You might also need to spay or neuter your bunny, as sometimes bunnies can be a bit like teenagers!! Make sure you remember that bunnies are prey animals, and are easily frightened by someone of our size! Hope this helped! :)
First my cat did think that my rabbit is her kitten :3 But then when we moved to another place, my cat did be like: OMGMGMGMG bunny OMGMGMGM WILL THE BUNNY KILL ME???
my bunny sophie lives free range in the shed. I'm convinced she's lonely but two years after her brother and son dissapeared (they escaped and we never found them) my parents have finally agreed to let me have another rabbit next month. my rabbit is always starving hungry but she never eats her hay, she just plays in it. i often give her veg and she gets about a scoop and a half of pellets a day. she is definitely not under weight but i don't know what to do. have you got any suggestions and also what should i be feeding her on a day to day basis???

he can have floortime outside but make sure there is nothing harmful around and that no animals such as dogs and cats have done there business there because if the rabbit eats the grass that ahs been urinated on it can make it ill X
Closing a door will not be good got me. My dog was mad one day when I was at school and decided to start breaking down the door. And for a 7lb dog its kinda bad...
Ok thanks i don't really think it should be a problem the highest my rabbit has jumped was when he half jumped half climbed up his cage when it was only two grids tall( Without the other level) :P
I have school for 6 hours, 5 days a week and my bunny seems to be fine! As soon as I come home, (if I have homework) I will do my homework while my bunny is having playtime. Make sure you'd bunny gets extra playtime once your home from school! :)
PLEASE MAIL ME A TUNNEL!!! i cant find any cheap tunnels at my dollar stores :( my English lop doesnt fit in anything other than cat tunnels and $15-$30 for a tunnel is too much for my "Budget'
Thanks! I hope I covered everything as I've had loads of questions recently regarding floor time. I try to give them as much space as possible because as you know Willow loves to run her laps!

Your channel is the most helpful channel ever!!! I'm getting a dwarf rabbit❤️ Also we both live in Canada (:
Hehe thanks! He definitely has my heart in his little furry hand! lol
Giant Tiger. Yep, you're Canadian lol. I am originally from Canada, I remember that store. :)
Thanks alot Budget =3 my rabbit had a fun time and just like you i out him in a hall way and he kept coming up to me thanks for making thing video

Your videos help so much!
Ollie is sooooo cute and adorable =) love him
Where did u get ur little gates??
Thanks for the video! This gave me the idea to use our hallway for floor time when I can't take my bunny outside (I live in Arizona, so we get a lot of extreme whether)
You can also buy those mats at Canadian tire i get them on sale for way less expensive than they were before :) I really like your videos by the way!

Look up hamster playpen on Amazon.com, they are about $12 USD. They are great for blocking off under the bed. Hope this helps! :)
Ok! THANKS!👍👌✌👏😊😄😉
You can also try buying wire storage grids. that's what I use when bunny proofingヽ(*≧ω≦)ノ
Ok, thanks!😊👍👌✌👏
Dancing Into The SpotLight Jessica No problem.😊

My bunny also doesn’t like walking on the wooden floor. Lol. Too slippery. So I have a trail of random blankets on my floor as well 🐰

I'm not her but,yes it is ok he is just used to always being out of his cage
Maybe put some toys in there for him to chew on.
Harley & Me I know lots of people who do that and I think that's a great idea!
How long do they have floortime?
Great helpful video !
Of course!
Awesome Video! ^.^ Do you mind if I do a video like this but for hamsters?
Can your bunnies get stuck in the floor heater in the bathroom?

you're a great pet owner
Does the bunny have to live inside the house or can we put it outside? and how much space does a adult and younger rabbit need? thanks.
Hi can you please do a video on some home made toys for your.
Hi, I love your bunnies and I was just wondering what breed Ollie is.
Thanks
He is a holland lop or a mini lop in think
I have a big house cause it was my gmas old house and it's really big so me and my dad have a lot of extra rooms and one has a glass door so for floor time I just put her in there and close the door and sit with her but my point is it is possible to have a room with no cords and lamps
I know this is off topic. I just got a bunny and she is a baby. Wanted to know what kind of treats I could give her if any??
How can I build or where can I buy the NYC grids?!?!??! Make a video
does your rabbits take apart the litter box? what type of litter boxes do you use
We use storage containers from Wal-Mart for our litterboxes. In their condos they aren't able to move them because what we actually did was purchase two and bolt one to the side of the cage. The container we use as the litter box fits right in so it prevents them from moving it and makes it easy for me to lift in and out.
hey, im going to buy a bunny and it looks like a holland lop but with much longer straight ears do you know what the breed is called?
Aww thanks!
You're great :D I love your videos
At my dollar store they have baby blankets for a dollar and they are fleece ? Can I use that as a place for a bunny to sleep or all over the cage to walk on ?
Yes you can use them;) totally safe
Thank you !:)
The Hamster Cloud What store is it at? I can't find any cheap fleece blankets anywhere and I'd appreciate it
I see them at my dollar tree , family dollar , and dollar general .
Oh ok thanks
What kind of hay is that? It looks pretty thin. Thank yoi
Hi, i have a bunny named angel and shes 2 she gets a lot of space because my dog has a huge pen outside by her hutch and i can close the door and the cool thing is that a window is above it and i can watch her when shes in there.
This video was very helpful!!!! :)
Can your patio be floor time? My patio has small spaces between the boards, will I have to put sheets and towels on it?
Yes, and yes u will have to
Ollie is so cute
My rabbit gets 11 hours. But he lives outside so it's not very much space. Your rabbits are lucky!
Hi, I have a Holland Lop type of bunny, and I really need your opinion on whether i should neuter my male bunny he is going for his 4 month and I just dont know what to do? At this time I am not looking to get him a friend any time soon. What should I do? Hope you can help me with this situation :)
P v c piping works to
I can not bring my bunny in my house for a long time so where could I do floor time?
I tried the pillow trick a while ago with my rabbits. They just pushed the pillows away and got into what I did not want them in (under my bed).
What do I do if I don't have enough space in my room to set it up? Where will my bunnies play?
HoneyBunny9 just get a few big play pens and try to find a safer room or area
what type of bunny is willow becausee we have one just like it
Thx it's so helpful anyway I love ur videos can you make a video of 5000 subscribers contest
What type of rabbit is rocky?
Ohh okay thank you so much, and yess Im really scared for him!
Where can i get a playpen?
Try petco
Thank you i bought it thank you so much my rabbit loves it!
Np! ^^
hi there! What breed is willow?? I have a bunny that look exactly the same and couldn't figure out what breed she is (she's a rescue rabbit). Thanks a lot~!
What breed of rabbit is willow?
Mwha editing software do you use??
+Budget Bunny, your videos have given me a lot of ideas. Thank you! :3
can lionheads have lettuce
I'm pretty sure they can :D
All rabbit breeds can. About 15% of a rabbits diet needs to be leafy greens. 80% hay, and 5% pellets and fruits.
Thank you :)
I have a bunny that loves to chew and I want to buy hem toys what do you suggest?
Wood toys are great for chewing! There are lots at petco if you have those! Hope I helped!
Can u do a video on how to get your rabbit to trust you my rabbit always hides and i dont pick him up or scream or grab him any advice
I meant can u please do a video on homemade rabbit toys door about all that
i hope.u do a veggie video soon!!!
Can you have rabbits if you have 4 cats?
My cousin has a guinea pig and the cat is scared to death of the the guinea pig so I think it depends how the cat is
First my cat did think that my rabbit is her kitten :3 But then when we moved to another place, my cat did be like: OMGMGMGMG bunny OMGMGMGM WILL THE BUNNY KILL ME???
Kiera D you can if you have enough responsibility to get them used to each other
my bunny sophie lives free range in the shed.
Rabbits are natural eaters and need a lot of food each day. I would recommend giving it pellets and maybe some timothy hay every day :D
ok thanks. thats what i do sort of.
Try some differant types of hay and brands.
Do you think it would be ok to put socks on my bunny when she/he has floortime?
Majestic Wolf Girls I’m sure you could but it isn’t safe. Why would you want to anyway?
She's part Netherland Dwarf but doesn't have all of the right characteristics to be pure bred. She's a rescue so we will never know but she weighs in just under 2lbs.
I don't have big spaces or even small spaces in the house for a floor time but I have a huge garden and my bunny's house is outside in the garden.... I really wan him to have floor time so how can I give him floor time?
he can have floortime outside but make sure there is nothing harmful around and that no animals such as dogs and cats have done there business there because if the rabbit eats the grass that ahs been urinated on it can make it ill X
You could buy a playpen and set it up outside and your bun(s) could run in there as long as the grass is okay to eat and not fertilized
Hi there! Have you watched my video on safely bringing your rabbit outdoors? th-cam.com/video/V0vkDRyMGFI/w-d-xo.html It may help you! :)
It's second cut timothy.
Oh hahaha it could be a New Zealand or a Flemish Giant or a Continental Giant or just some kind of mix.
What breed of rabbit are they 😸
Budget bunny please reply back to this can you please make a video on how to teach bunnies to like each other
I let my bunny run around all day is that bad?
! It's great your bun gets the privilege to run around! Mine is cheeky and gets into loads of trouble
Closing a door will not be good got me. My dog was mad one day when I was at school and decided to start breaking down the door. And for a 7lb dog its kinda bad...
You should check out my website budgetbunny.ca there is an entire section on diy toys!
Ok thanks i don't really think it should be a problem the highest my rabbit has jumped was when he half jumped half climbed up his cage when it was only two grids tall( Without the other level) :P
with my bunny we have a fince in the front yard and when I bing him in I just put a dog shirt on and lesh and let him go he des not chew or p or poop
My room wouldn't be big enough for two bunnies to have floor time, much less one!
