If you want to get a rabbit but don’t want to spend a lot of money, here are some tips: 1. Don’t get a playpen or a cage, free roam your rabbit in a bunny proofed space 2. Instead of buying expensive toys from the pet store, you can make some at home! You can use cardboard, paper towel rolls, pine cones, sticks, and more! 3. Instead of getting expensive litter, you can just use shredded paper 4. For hidey houses you can cut holes in cardboard boxes 5. Instead of getting expensive brushes, you can get a flee comb and put rubber bands around the bristles to catch more hair That’s all I can really think of right now but I also recommend watching Lennon the Bunny (it’s a TH-cam channel) because there’s some great tips there too! Happy bunny keeping! 🐰🐰❤️❤️
If you want to have a rabbit (please Not just one) and you dont have Money then it would be reasonable to not get rabbits. Its not just the cost for supplies etc., also think about the vet. I just spend 1200€ in only 2 weeks for my bunny and they still couldnt really help him. So please think about that as well if you wanna get rabbits
followmeandmydaay I don’t have a lot of money and I still have a happy rabbit. The point is they aren’t supposed to be caged so it’s kind of a waste of money. And as far as toys they don’t need expensive pet store toys. They are fine chewing on sticks and cardboard.
@@anxiousaristocat7082 of course it's right what you say but I'm talking about necessary needs like food and vet bills. They are really expensive and vet costs is something you can't predict. You always need to have savings since your bunny can be healthy today and suddenly being sick tomorrow. When your bunny is sick you often can't wait for days or weeks, sometimes even waiting for a few hours is already too late. At this point you need to have the money. Sometimes only 50$ but often it's way more (see my case)

MACKER STACKER I had to travel 140 miles to get my bunny because no one close by sold MiniLop bunnys here up north. He was $100. I spent probably 50 for the cage, then built a frame on rollers to keep him off the floor. He uses the couch to jump up to his house. We found a farm doctor that doesnt charge much for bunny care. She always does a great job with our bunny. We make hidy houses out of cardboard boxes and make a castle. We use a small hand hold vacuum for cleaning up behind a leaky bunny as far as poops. Pellets are the best if you can get Mannapro breeder preferred bunny chow. We get it 50 miles away. it runs $18 for 50lbs and generally lasts a year. 1/4 cup only. Not true as far as water bottles! Sorry but that is wrong advice. Rabbits dump bowls reguardless of shape. Once bunny gets used to a water bottle, they are fine. You have to replace them twice a year, but I hate the mess of a bowl and Spock would fall in a water bowl. Yes, a brush is a must to have. Several different types are important. We try different kinds, what works best for ours is a regular plastic fine tooth comb. Toys,OMG. You cannot ever get enough toys. We generally get chwing type toys. Anything like twisted stick wreaths, willow balls, willow mats, apple sticks, you name it. The cheapest toy is a paper tube. You can cut slits and squash it to make openings, you can throw them in whole. Paper...just regular typing paper sheet. ,white, torn in half. It wont hurt them. I crinkle it up and they will eat it in no time.

Hi I am a vet and I was watching your video and you said for adult rabbits to perfuably get grass hay... I am strongly saying to not get grass hay because timothy hay provides lots of long-strand fibre which keeps your rabbit's gut moving properly and teeth healthy.
So helpful! Im getting my bunny next weeked (6 days) and although i knew what to do and what to get for the most part (had bunnies when I was younger), i am still doing all kinds of research cause i want her to be the happiest and healthiest bunny she can be (and it was like 20+ years since Ive had one 😄) Thanks for the video! Very helpful!
I had guinea pigs so I already have most of this stuff, we're considering getting a bunny in the quarantine because I will have extra time on my hands to take care of one
K.K. Gacha she never said anything about plastic toys being harmful! Some bunnies may chew on plastic items, but they’re a generally safe toy for rabbits!
I have 3 mini lop rabbits and they live outside in a beautiful cage and come out in their playpen outside of their cage at day. They are all babies and I feed them hay and grain, followed by water and fresh veggies.
Sabre Lancaster If your room is bunny proof I’d recommend just letting him sleep wherever he’d like, he’d be much happier and itd be much more fulfilling as his owner. If he’s not litter trained I’d recommend getting an Xpen or doggy play pen and start letting him play in that while you litter train as smaller spaces are much easier to litter train a bunny in. If you have anymore questions feel free to ask, you should also check out Lennon the bunny as her channel is amazing too!❤️
Gabrièlle Renèe Hey idk if you still remember commenting here since it was 10 months ago you last commented. But since quarantine started I have been wanting a bunny so much 😭 I’m 13 btw so since school is out for the rest of the year i feel as if this would be the perfect time after this all over. But my question is it really expensive to take care of a bunny? And do I really have to get it fixed since I heard it cost so much? I’m honestly trying to suck in as much information as I can 🥺😂
My vet said that water bowls are only more preferred by most rabbits but they can have water bottles....I tried using a water bowl but all my rabbits did was poop in it, put hay in it, and splash the water around....and they NEVER drank from it so I personally have to use a water bottle for my bunnies....they drink out of it more then they ever did with a water bowl...I have never noticed any problems with it at all and my vet said it's fine so..........
Hello I I love your videos and I your rabbits care videos are really helping me because I am thinking about getting a bunny and you’re helping me out because I’m doing a lot of research on how to get a bunny and you are the first you tuber I want to and you are just amazing thank you for helping me and I love your videos
For a cheap playpen you can use the c&c cage grids, for cheap bowls dollar tree sells both glass human bowls, and cute plastic cat and dog bowls but I recommend the glass so it will be heavier and less likely to tip over, you can stuff old toilet paper rolls with hay and they will live to play with it, for a hay bin or whatever you want to call it you can use cardboard or plastic bins with holes cut out of them. ✌️🐰
Wow this is amazing and I'm really glad I looked up how to properly take care of a rabbit. Because I had been using pine chips and I didn't know it was bad for them. Because as you know it's advertised for bunnies. I took this rabbit because it was being mistreated insanely. But I really want to make sure I'm doing everything I can for her thank you so much for this
I have used water bottles for all of my rabbits and when I introduced a water bowl they just dumped it and played in the puddle. This happens everytime I use a bowl
Grave McGee haha my little cousin right there when we tried to get her to drink out of a cup instead of like a dog with a bowl (she’s weird don’t judge) she took off the lid and threw it across the room and went to play in the puddle lol
You can tell the rabbit isn't scared at all of being in public! Whoever would say Lennon is must be nuts! P.S. this is only the second video I have seen of yours, but I'll subscribe because it's good info to use with my own bunny, Ms. Fluffican.

If you don't mind me asking (since they're not listed for sale) what did you stuff your snug a buns with? And what layers did you use for your cage liners? Thanks!
I have stainless steel bowls that are for dogs but they come with stands and they have worked perfect. My bunnies are babies and they haven’t tipped them at all

wow you must make a really good income from your channel and merchandise! I’m so impressed! Great job! You’re very good at public speaking !!
Thank you for the help! I'm writing an article for my parents to read and convince them to give me a rabbit, thank you so much for the help!
When she repeats the water dish thing I thought I was tripping for a second

Thank you for helping! Unfortunately my bunny died last Wednesday and I need to prepare for the 2 bunnies that I’m taking in. Thanks!
Damn her skin is brighter than my future😂😂
Sandy Liera hilarious 😂
My skin is the same way lol
😂😂😂
Caitlyn Bahe nope because no one can be racist against white people it's sad
I know
i’m getting a rabbit soon, this was really informative!
did u finally get your rabbit??
I will be fostering a bunny while in self-quarantine. Your video is very helpful. Thanks!
I hate it when people don't provide the right information to new bunny owners. But u did a pretty good job
Fun tip! XPENS are cheap on groupon!
I read the title wrong: you could make one that reads: HOW TO KNOW WHEN YOU NEED A RABBIT. lol.
A “flake” of hay sounds like a tiny piece 😂
Depending on the size of the bale, content, and how tight it's packed, one flake can be upwards of 1-2 pounds.
@@baileydevine5175 not if it’s a 100 pound bale like I get😅 there is usually 12-16 flakes in one bale
@@timberkoopman6435 very true! I only have one horse, so I only ever need 50 pound bales 😅
@@baileydevine5175 I have 4 goats and 2 horses and the 100 pounders save me SO much time getting hay!
@@timberkoopman6435 sounds like it! My mare is like the easiest keeper ever, she gains weight on air lol.
I had guinea pigs so I already have most of this stuff, we're considering getting a bunny in the quarantine because I will have extra time on my hands to take care of one
Thank you so much for the help! I'm going on a bunny shopping spree tonight for all of this. Last thing to add to the list, I need a bunny! 🐰
lol I wrote an informational report on rabbits today at school and over half of the things i know are becuz i watch 101rabbits
Amanda Iverson Ha ha LOL same!
same
not the school report part, but the I know a lot because I watch 101rabbits
"Make sure to not get toys with harmful materials, such as color, dyes, plastic, etc.."
*Shows colorful baby toys made of plastic*
Me: boi
K.K. Gacha she never said anything about plastic toys being harmful! Some bunnies may chew on plastic items, but they’re a generally safe toy for rabbits!
I think that she meant like colored wooden toys bc it’s dyed
If they're baby toys they'll be safe. Babies also chew
We rescued a rabbit and it’s so cute ❤️❤️ thanks for the tips
You got one from the wild? If you did, that is not rescuing, unless it was hurt or something
Harry Potter Please marry me I'm sure they mean they rescued it from a shelter
I’m getting a bunny and I’m SOOOOOO EXCITED Thank you for the tips I really need it,I never had a bunny before!😁😊
Cool! IF you ever have any questions, feel free to ask me :). Im always open to helping new bunny parents. ;)
Animal Haven ok thank you!
I am getting a bunny for my birthday and this is so helpful because half of this stuff I was not thinking of.
I have rewatched this video at least 100 times
I have my rabbit for 8 years en he is really smart and i love him
Awwww how cute!!🥰
I just got a dwarf bunny and she's already in cahoots with my cat Felicity[I think its cause they are both black lol]
when she said Menards this started playing I my head " Save big money at Menards"
I have 3 mini lop rabbits and they live outside in a beautiful cage and come out in their playpen outside of their cage at day. They are all babies and I feed them hay and grain, followed by water and fresh veggies.
I love these kinds of videos, super helpful to already have all the info + materials before bringing a new animal home
I have a bunny and I let him
roam a bunny proof room for the whole day but in the night he sleeps in a cage is that ok?
Sabre Lancaster If your room is bunny proof I’d recommend just letting him sleep wherever he’d like, he’d be much happier and itd be much more fulfilling as his owner. If he’s not litter trained I’d recommend getting an Xpen or doggy play pen and start letting him play in that while you litter train as smaller spaces are much easier to litter train a bunny in. If you have anymore questions feel free to ask, you should also check out Lennon the bunny as her channel is amazing too!❤️
Gabrièlle Renèe thanks what are main tips for litter training
Sabre Lancaster Check our “how to potty train your rabbit” by Lennon the bunny. All the tips and tricks are just too much to type! Lol
Gabrièlle Renèe thank you sooooo much I really appreciate it my bun will be so much happier now thx❤️
I’m honestly trying to suck in as much information as I can 🥺😂
Y’all I remember watching these videos when I was like 8 before I even had one
My vet said that water bowls are only more preferred by most rabbits but they can have water bottles....I tried using a water bowl but all my rabbits did was poop in it, put hay in it, and splash the water around....and they NEVER drank from it so I personally have to use a water bottle for my bunnies....they drink out of it more then they ever did with a water bowl...I have never noticed any problems with it at all and my vet said it's fine so..........
Ok I will continue using my water bottles then....Thank you!!
You should also put a water bowl next to the bottle
@@emmanerd1770 You should also put a water bowl next to the bottle
2:19 it needs to be shipped disassembled
Girl I think you just saved me😂❤
Omg when u said cage my dog went to his cage for bed 😂😂😂😂
Wow this is amazing and I'm really glad I looked up how to properly take care of a rabbit. Because I had been using pine chips and I didn't know it was bad for them. Because as you know it's advertised for bunnies. I took this rabbit because it was being mistreated insanely. But I really want to make sure I'm doing everything I can for her thank you so much for this
Thank u so much Hailey for making this video it really helped me with what i should get for my rabbit. I love bubbies!🐇
This helped me out a lot!
I’m getting Two bunny’s todayyyy!!!!!!
Me too
how are ur bunny’s? :)
@Clarissa Fernando sameee omg
Reply are they okay please
I have used water bottles for all of my rabbits and when I introduced a water bowl they just dumped it and played in the puddle. This happens everytime I use a bowl
Grave McGee make sure you use a ceramic one that they can’t dump, that should work.
If you use heavy standing bowls they should be going anywhere lol
Grave McGee haha my little cousin right there when we tried to get her to drink out of a cup instead of like a dog with a bowl (she’s weird don’t judge) she took off the lid and threw it across the room and went to play in the puddle lol
You could try the bowls that are attached to the cage. Works with mine. He don't even looks at his bottle anymore.
Kris Spate wtf
She is so cute. And I just got 6 rabbits. I'm blessed 🙌
You can tell the rabbit isn't scared at all of being in public! Whoever would say Lennon is must be nuts! P.S. this is only the second video I have seen of yours, but I'll subscribe because it's good info to use with my own bunny, Ms. Fluffican.
Can someone please gimme a few tips for the litter box uses..thanks! Appreciate it so much .. have a blessed day for u 😉🥰
Hi, I know u made this comment a while ago, but I recommend watching Lennon the bunny’s on TH-cam- she has a 2 min video all about litter box training and things like that :)
pls open your etsy shop again
I’m getting two rabbits very soon! 💗💗
Thanks for this informative video! My Nine-year-old daughter is picking up a Hollyn lop this weekend.
I don't know why I am in love with this channel ❤️❤️
If you don't mind me asking (since they're not listed for sale) what did you stuff your snug a buns with? And what layers did you use for your cage liners? Thanks!
I prefer using an anti spill dog water bowl, with cute drawing on it, is less tall and larger, easier access for the bunny. ;3
omfg. this helped so much!! Thank You!! I took notes and now i know
I miss my bunny, RIP my Jilly Bean. Excellent advice!
I have stainless steel bowls that are for dogs but they come with stands and they have worked perfect. My bunnies are babies and they haven’t tipped them at all
