Thank you. Just the review I was looking for. My G pro just went kaput and I thought of just getting something lower priced to tide thru and realised after some light researching that the ‘lower-end’ budget headphones have come such a long way. Further digging and incidentally or not I narrowed to these two exact headphones too, and boomz right here you already are ahead of all of us comparing them thank you 🙏🏼
Mic quality surprised me on both headsets. I've seen far, far worse on much more expensive headsets.

I have to admit I was judging these headsets solely based on looks. I was completely shocked by the end of this video. Thank you for doing this.
Arctis Nova 1 wins for me, purely because of the comfort and adjustability. Also love how the microphone retracts fully into the headset, so you can use them as regular headphones if needed.
The replaceable cable is a must so the steel series all the way for me.
Ordered a pair of Arctis Nova 1's and a Viper V2 Pro and they arrive in 3 days. I hope they don't disappoint because I'm pretty excited.

@@anthonygonzalez9462 It was good but mine in particular was faulty and one of the ear cup swivels broke off after about 4 days. Haven't heard anyone else have the same issue so I wouldn't worry too much about it. I did return it and instead ordered the Razer Baracuda X for the 2.4ghz wireless/bluetooth though. If you do end up buying the steelseries headset I would highly recommend downloading their Steelseries GG software.

I bought the V2 X for my nephew last year to use on his PC here when he stays over. He liked them more than his headset at home so he swapped them and uses them at home now lol. Probably helps that I gave him my soundcard from my Blackshark V2 though since I don't use it anymore. I really love the Blackshark family of headsets, they sound great out of the box and are incredibly comfortable. I'm happy with my Arctis 7+ right now, though they needed an assist from Wicked Cushions lol. If the Blackshark had a wireless option that used USB C at the time I was shopping for a wireless set, it would have been no contest for me to get that.

But you missed out that Blackshark V2x also has the white version, which may be more to someone's liking than the black one in term of aesthetic

the price for Blackshark v2 X is like 20% cheaper in my country, but if the materials peel off then i would pay more down the line.

I know this is an old video so probably wont seen my comment but wanted to let you know it help me a lot on finding a great headset and not that expensive. I got a laptop last month and the first thing y brother told me was to download this game called "Destiny 2". I have never play it before, started last month at the end of the last season and I am obsessed lol. Love it!!! and one of the things I like was the Fire-Team plays with friends so I quickly notice the next thing I need it was a good headset, make some TH-cam searches that got me to your video. I just got the 'Razer ' and the game sounds so good. So thanks for the great video. Very comfortable, mic quality is very good and surround sound is amazing.. Now those Cabals wont shot me from the back lol.
Please cover more dedicated microphones! Fifine A8 for example seems to tick all the boxes and would love to hear your opinion on it! (Also the green highlights are enough to dissuade me from buying the razer)

Bought the nova 1 for a work from home job. The mic quality and comfort is fantastic
One thing i will say considering ive used both these headsets is that the head and ear fatique is noticably more tollerable with the steel series vs the razor headset

They’re great soundwise but I do not recommend them because of interference problems.

Thanks for the comparison video. I have V2 X right now and my ears does get spicy and some pressure down the sides after an hour of game play. Do you think Nova 1 would be better with that?
if the nova 1 earpads are cloth-like material, you'll have better temperature on your ears in long games.

I had redragon h510, their earpads looks like the same with the razer and it takes 6months and the leather gets bad and easily removed by hand or even stay on my hair and ears...i bought a breathable cloth earpad online and its far better if you're in a hot country. (But I'll pick pleather if I live in a cold country)
You can change the earpads on the V2x.

I bought a $30 set of Binnune off Amazon years ago. I “upgrade” to the Pulse Elite last week. Sent the Elites back and kept the Binnunes. Sound wise, the only complaint I have from Binnune is the volume is a bit too low. Otherwise, in every other way they kick the crap out of the Pulse Elite. Fit/finish, build quality, and the ability to use them comfortably with the PSVR2. It’s all there. A little bulky when using with the PSVR2 which why I’ve decided to go with the Truthear Crin Red IEM’s. But these cheap headsets are where it’s at. That Pulse Elite was my first experience with any “premium” headset. And if that’s the way they are? Save your money.

Hey can anyone recommend me a headset, I have the razer blackshark v2 but they’re uncomfortable to me and squeeze my head a little too much. I also have razer kraken but the headband broke. I actually preferred the way the razer kraken felt because the rounder ear cups and they are lighter but they don’t have as good sound quality or mic

Idk for 3rd time i buy a razer headset and they dont last more then 3 months and they always in a safe place so that they dont fall, but somehow the poor quality of plastic it has when i notice its breaks the plastic somewhere, last headset i had was Kraken X and on the ajustment height of the headset it breaked there and i never touched it since i bought them, so right now looking for something different from Razer cause its really low quality headset with good audio but the prices are not worth it, and the Blackshark V2 X its looking really cheap and i can it break very easily and other bad choice was having the earpart cable visible that can happen something to it-
in the v2 x does it rlly matter in sound quality and mic quality if its 3.5mm or usb?

Detachable cable takes the win. I've owned 4 headsets and the first problem was always the cable. All of them had detachable cable ports, thankfully.
Arctis nova 1 are more clear they don't sound tiny. imo good all around.
Razer don’t sound tiny either. The Razer actually sounds better
can these work for the HyperX Solocast Mic?
Razor mic sound is more natural and clear, the Steel sounds good but slightly muted.

i would pull a techne, i'd choose the nova 1 because i was looking for ones with the detachable cable and somehow i missed these. and i had gotten the cooler master headset, but those didn't last long. i took care of em i had a stand for it and all that and someone just above the earpiece cracked somehow and they died long ago, then i got some earbuds, and the little speaker things inside fell inside the earbud so those are busted. so im using the razer v2 x currently which i think is more durable but i prefer a detachable

As a person who has little bit bigger head, arctis nova 1 gives me headaches. It pushes through the head horizontally. When you set the headset longer size, it becomes more like narrower arc. That causes more pressure. Unbearable for me. Altough that it has nice microphone, built and sound quality. Im sad that i have to return it back.

Hey mam, I found the best headset ever, imo am tellin u , the razer kraken console (black blue) aluminium body, gel infused leather cool ear cups, 5mm drivers, and most of all retractable 🎤 mic that doesnt get in your way, nothing beats it. So forget about all your headset reviews this is the one.

Latency, they aren’t made for gaming so they will have latency, which is terrible for gaming
@@hman6159 I just got the max headphones for travel about 2 months ago. I seen another video on another channel of the adapter’s needed to make it a wired headset and the type of mic needed in order to communicate with chat. It’s just he didn’t go into full detail as he would on here. If someone already has a pair of the max headphones and didn’t want to fork out 100-500 on a gaming headset all it would cost to use them as a wired gaming head set is about $80. I understand if it used withBluetooth it will have the latency,but with it being wired will there still be latency?
I just bought the Razer Blackshark V2 X with the jack, but only after I ordered did I see this video, where it was pointed out that the USB version is the better option for PC. Can someone tell me why is that a better option? Why is USB better than the jack version? As I know you wont get the extra equalizer options in the Synapse tool without the soundcard version (Razer Blackshark V2).
probably just because a headset with a USB connection has their own driver built in the usb, so you don't depend on your own pc audio ports, and in most of the cases it's a little better slightly and louder
@@mthsgrz You are talking about the V2 with the Razer Soundcard. I was talking about the USB version of V2 X.
By the way, it turned out, that it is mainly just more comfortable, but no real upside of USB version. I have ordered both the V2 X and V2 X USB but both of them had terrible static in the speakers, especially when I turned on the microphone. I don't know if my PC has very bad static interferences or I got 2 faulty headphones in a row, but anyway, I ordered the V2 wiht the soundcard, and it is perfect. Not a single noise in the speakers.
