I was going to suggest a killswitch and/or a fuel cutoff for the excavator. Some sort of hydraulic cutoff would make it pretty near impossible for the scum to knock it off. On FB woodcutting pages there is often people saying to be on the lookout for processors and excavators etc.
Cameras with IR illumination sadly show up absolutely beautifully with cellphone or other cameras. A friend has had issues with theft from sites and the scum have been shooting the cameras. He had no idea that the cameras can be seen so well with other cameras when the IR illumination is on. Ultra low light cameras are the stealthy alternative and they also are better at showing the colours of clothing and vehicles of a night.

hey Alan, yep its a shame for those that get equipment stolen, I see a rex 600 was stolen a while ago, that's a huge machine and a lot of money. I know about the IR illumination, I have 2 cameras looking towards each other and when one is triggered the other sees a huge white glow. They are just a deterrent and hopefully push an opportunist thief elsewhere. I visited a building site a while ago and they had installed a fog system because the kitchen and laundry products kept getting stolen. Once you are inside and trigger the alarm the room fills with fog so thick you cannot see your hands and strobe lights flash to disorientate you. You cannot find your way out.

Afternoon Chris, nothin' better than some extra security to help protect what's yours, fer-sher. We also have eyes in the trees, and pretty much all the exterior lighting as well runnin' off solar... Gotta save money anywhere you can right mate. Nothin' worse than folks takin' your things, thinking they need them more than you do... Nice pictures of Zorro ( Fox in spanish ), and joey is gettin' quit big too... Stay cool brother, Peace from the mountians of 🌲🏞🌳Chihuahua...

@@gringopines3476 hey mate, thanks for watching. Good point re lighting. I think I need to add some solar lighting, thieves don’t work well if they are illuminated, they like to work in the shadows. Think I’ll be getting a few solar lights.
      Take care.

I might look at the reo ink cameras, are they affordable?

Hi, have a look ok at the Reolink Australia web site they have a large selection. The one i have is about $340. If you have wifi you can get them cheaper, as I am so remote, needing solar power and 4G is more expensive. I have an Aldi pay as you go SIM card.
I tried a few different cameras and Reolink have been the best and good after sales too. I have 5 cameras and over the past 4 years I have had 2 returned and swapped under warranty. No arguments, simply return it and a new one is in the post back to you.

hi, have a look at the reolink Australia website, they have a large selection. as i have no wifi and no power, i need to get the 4G solar systems which are more expensive, but ive found reolink to be great to deal with and had things swapped under warranty without issues. I have the Go PT Ultra and they are $340. Not the cheapest, but I've tried a few alternatives and found these to be best.
