I’m a 67 year old woman from Boise Idaho. Thank you for this video. I will be purchasing a few of these very soon. I appreciate so much this video……again….thankmyou so much for the easy to understand video with such specifics.
I installed the same camera with solar panel at my property in SW Missouri. I mounted on a 12 ft 4x4 that is buried in cement down 2 feet. Connected with AT&T. I took camera to ATT store to get cell service configured. Added to my phone plan. Now, after 2 months, works great. The first night, using Infrared mode, I saw 2 deer laying on my lot. Highly Recommended.
Have had my Reolink cameras on my Missouri farm property for two years. For the most part they work great. Occasionally they have connectivity issues but that is due to the SIM card provider. We are currently building a new home and I attached 95lb magnets on my camera and solar panel and this enabled me to just mount it on my outbuilding anywhere I wanted pointing towards the home construction. This way we can keep an eye on materials at all times considering the price of lumber these days. Great Cameras!
Thank you wishing you the best with your organic farm. Love your "I Support Veteran Farmers" shirt. I'm former Navy. Go Cam are fabulous, I live around farm land mostly cows so, when lights go out I'm still watching over our property. Real safe cam. Love them.
Thanks. We have a chunk of land that we use as a home base and as fulltime RVers we will not be on it often, this could be exactly what we need to keep an eye on it.
I did pretty much the same thing about 5 months ago. I bought 5 Reolink Go PT's for hunting purposes. I found out about them from another TH-cam video by huntingfarmer. He gave a great video demonstration on them. What I done different was this, I taped off the lens and solar panel face and painted them hunter green for the woods. Then I took a treated 2x6x18 inch board. Mounted the solar panel at the top and the camera at the bottom. I then cut up some heavy duty straps that I had from safety harnesses and old trail cams and mounted them at center point on the board (which put the strap in between the camera and solar panel). Drilled and bolted the strap to the board. I can now use the whole thing like it's one larger trail camera. I just put the strap around the tree and pull it tight. I put them about 7-8 feet up a tree and they're out of sight. They work great and I love them.wish I could post a picture of one finished. They look great.
Gotta say, I watch your videos and like them but shook my head when I saw you mounting a camera on a White Oak tree. That is arguably the most valuable wildlife and timber tree in the northeast.
I just bought this a month ago. You don't need a cell service. You can run it on wifi and it also works by putting a mini SD card into it (when the wifi cuts out it will still record on the card). The solar panel keeps the battery topped off most days. Battery hasn't gone below 92%, but is mostly 100%. It's a great camera. There also is a free cloud option that sends video to the cloud when connected. I used the strap to hang it. I didn't use the board. I also hung the solar panel with foam on the back to angle it toward the sun.
Love it. Just a little thought on the power cord where it plugs into the camera. It will be in the weather a long time. So once you have it mounted and plunged in run a very small bead of silicone exterior sealant up and over the top where it plugs into the Camera make a small hood to guard against water and moisture past the plug to the unit leave a small opening at the very base of the plug do rain and moisture can weep out of the bottom of the plug and dry out. So moisture can't get locked in behind your plug
been up for a year now without any issues my friend...I hear ya though...however the silicon will also trap any moisture that might get in the plug....it's worked great so far!
Back when you first posted this cam, I knew this was the perfect one for my farms to catch wildlife, poachers and thieves. The newest RioLink is aimed towards hunters now and it's camouflaged! It's the Keen Range PT! Gonna order one today! Thanks for sharing the video; definitely helped me chose the best cell cam option!
Good morning mr stoney F. Farmer This is Hum - Vinbeg farms from Ghana. In fact , have been following your videos for time now and it impact me so much and I hoping forward to see how best we can link up especially for business purpose in Ghana.
I run a small IT company and I install some surveillance systems. There are 2 inexpensive cameras I can 100% recommend because I've used them, and they work pretty well - and that's Reolink, and Amcrest. They aren't without issues, and not all of them are great - but as long as you stay away from the ones that only work with their brand NVR, they're pretty good. I haven't used the cell network ones, but I've used wifi ones. One caveat - and it's not Reolink specific, it's just the nature of the technology - is that the solar / battery powered ones cannot record constantly. They can get triggered from a motion event, but they might miss what you need. I don't care if it's a $500 camera, or a $100 Reolink - it just takes too much power to run them on a battery all night. The LED's for IR use a LOT of power. More than the radios (whether cell or wifi) by a long shot. The PTZ functions use a lot of power too. So I do recommend wired ones wherever it's remotely practical to do so. The plus side though, is that they're all PoE, so the power comes in on the data line - which saves a LOT of hassle. I have a continuous recording WiFi cam with IR night vision on a 7.2ah AGM battery on a 10watt solar panel pretty similar to the Premier1 poultry fence charger. It's actually a home brew one I set up for a Premier1 fence - and it runs that all night no problem - gets about 1 hour on that WiFi camera though. I have a setup down the road with 10 Reolinks, and they work great. There are some 5MP and some 4K cams out there, and it's hard to beat for the money. I have 8 Amcrests at home - they get a little wider field of vision, and it's just what I had. Either are good cams, especially at the price point. Now personally I do not use the cloud services, because of privacy issues, and I don't use their NVR's just because they don't have the features I want, but - my NVR alone is well over 2k, closer to 3k when you get over 8 cameras so it's not really fair to compare their NVR / cloud services with what I use. In case anybody's wondering how I set mine up - I use a Synology NAS with the Surveillance Station software (and license packs for more cameras), I put the cameras and the Synology on a dedicated network (or VLAN) and block it from the internet so nothing can "phone home". I do not use the Synology as a NAS, it's only for the cameras. I have a separate NAS on a separate network. From another network I set a firewall rule to allow things on my internet enabled computer network to be able to access the Synology, but not the other way around. Then I set up a VPN so I can remote back in from my cell phone. I wall off another network in a similar manner for IoT devices - smart switches, gate openers, etc ... It's not as complicated as it sounds - but it's not exactly "plug and play" either. It's an Opnsense router, TP-Link managed switch, one of the VLANS goes to the camera network with a PoE switch, other VLANs for other things. The most costly part of the setup is the Synology by a long shot. The whole rest of the network cost less than that NVR alone.
I needed something like this for a problem I had with illegal activities on a remote part of my property. The problem is this would have stuck out to much. I bought a $30 weatherproof enclosure and stuck the camera inside of the enclosure, I then cut about a 5x5 inch square in the front and put some grey wire mesh over the opening. I put the solar panel flat on top of the enclosure so it couldnt be seen. The antenna I went with one mounted to the top of the enclosure as well and was a low profile antenna that looks like a small can. Luckily the activity was happening where telephone (not power) lines crossed my property. I took my cherry picker out and mounted it about 20 feet up on the pole, stuck some caution stickers on the front of it and watched the show for weeks. They never suspected for a minute they were being watched the whole time.
I've got another brand of camera, but what they have in common with the ones SRF:s got is the highly visible white color of their casings. So the very first thing I did was to spray paint mine flat black, so they are much more stealthy. This is important to me as I have mounted my cameras lower to the ground in order to get highly identifiable facial images. I have also deployed some strategically placed, innocuous (but shiny) objects in proximity to my cameras to make intruders look up in their direction and maybe even pause for a nice head shot, but still not notice the cameras themselves. This way I hope to avoid intruders noticing my cameras before they come close enough to be identified by them. Because if they do, there are three scenarios that may follow. First is the good one, where they see the cameras and simply decide not to go any further and go away for good. The second is that they choose another path in, one that isn't covered by my cameras. The third is that they retreat, disguise their faces, and then walk in...
My experience with security cameras is that you will get great images of whomever committed the crime ... little to no deterrence of the crime being committed. Still good to have a record if they ever get caught and for insurance purposes.
Reolink are pretty good. They are >really< visible to people who are looking for them though. A few minutes masking off the lens and spray painting them in green/grey/black primer, and shoving a few twigs around the base would make the world of difference. Also better to just hide these inside a bird box, anything that sticks out can be lassoed and pulled down, then they have your $300 dollar camera. Personally I'd have tied into your gate solar panel, and then run a wireless bridge data link back to the video recorder in your house. Run some tests at night and make sure you can read a car's numberplate, the battery camera models don't always have the high power infrared of the POE versions
you'd have to be 14 feet tall to spray paint this one. Of course any camera can be vandalized my friend...I could paint them...and may do that in the future
What version reads plates at night? This may be the ticket with the auto gate opener if it uses 12v…? Are you using the Wi-Fi style or the cell type…? I also have a clear line of sight to a metal farm canopy with a mesh router and power.
As long as it doesn't allow your local government access like The Ring Partnerships nation wide, ignorance is a real epidemic these days. I served just like you, I was Ammo. Funny how we used to joke about our tech being used against us, now it seems like that is becoming more of a reality every day. Love your content, hope all is well.
As an aware civilian its concerning how many people will likely blow this comment off. Ring just like its company Amazon will be in everything you do Security yes Privacy No.
@@johnnylego807 they don't. You can opt in ot opt out of it. If a crime is committed in your area they will notify everyone who opted in if they can access your data. If you're on the no list, they won't ask to look. Additionally if you have cameras on your property and commit a crime, regardless of the vendor or even if self hosted, they will get a warrant for the footage. Not providing that footage is basically admittance of guilt. The only work around would be not saving footage or having a policy that prunes the footage after a few days so by the time the request comes to you, you no longer have the data.
I have 4 cameras outside my home on all four corners of my home for 4 years now: Just FYI: These outdoor cameras are weatherproof. Water proof. Sun proof. Rain Snow Ice WORK GREAT! No bad weather will damage these cameras. NO NEED TO PUT A ROOF OVER THEM
We have Reolink's and have had issues with the outdoor pan and tilts needing to be factory reset once in a while but for the most part love them. Indoor and outdoor.
@@jenkemjones68 Totally different experience, I have two ReoLinks exterior-mounted with solar panels. Water got into the contacts, rusted them to where it didn't work. I contacted ReoLink and they replaced the camera without hesitation. My two cameras have been up and operational for a couple of years now. I'm running the Argus2 units w/solar panels. Cameras are mounted on the side of a metal building in Texas. These cameras are not perfect as I do lose wifi connectivity 5% of the time. I'm now looking at the cellular version.
I have several of these setup using the AT&T network cost about 5 dollars a month on a data share plan. A few of my favorite things is you can live view them anytime and turn on or off notifications from the app. Handy when you are working in the areas your cameras are set to watching.
I'm so far out in the country I can't get any cell service. All my cell service is thru bad Windstream WiFi calling. Waiting on my Starlink! Great video, wish I could use this technology on my 12 acres.
I would think you could still use this without cell service. You wouldn’t be able access it away from home, but it should still record on the SD memory card.
Smart thinking Annie, have been meaning Starlink on some posts on here. Same deal w/me on 5 acres. Some young fruit tree's stolen and poultry, cops could care less. Major move in Aug but will purchase this ahead of time...will take care of personally. Future will prove past, get ready
I just love this idea. Would you be able to make a camouflaged enclosure to hide the security camera ??? My camera was stolen from twenty five feet about the ground. Thanks
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer Thanks for your response Sir. I have to do something and will do it soon. Will use your videos to guide my methods to get things done.
yes, cameras are great... keep that info for yourself and use it in court... go above law enforcement! I installed a Ring camera and has worked amazing, but I am not paying to store its footage... excellent video doorbell!
Just wanted to say thank you for your videos. I have watched you in the past (without knowing it was the same person!) for multiple concerns on my homestead and you have been very helpful. Most recently your videos on chicken slaughter and prep have been very helpful. Thank you!
I have 4 Reolink cameras around my home in the suburbs. Mine are the Wifi versions and connect to my router. They're great cameras so far and they're priced very reasonably.
I have the Wifi version of this RL-PT camera and it works great, and I also have 2 of the Argus/Reolink Wifi Cameras and they also work very well. Note: The only problem I've had is intermittent connection issues. It was usually a power/battery issue due to not enough sun - although after removing them and charging fully indoors, they kept working for a month or more without any issues.
@@wjdc893 Correct.....wifi cameras have to be within proximity of a good wifi connection off your current network. Cellular service is where the monthly cost is incurred.
Josh! I have two reolink go cameras. Prior to purchase, I was lied to by t-mobile stating I had plentiful cellular in my area. Long story short and many headaches later I switched to my mobile provider at&t. That network is so limited too. Now I have two very exspensive paperweights.
Nice camera .. I purchased skypoint solar trail cameras. No video but I do get unlimited photos for 15.00 month.. 600 miles away pictures are crisp and clear. I had them in place for 7 months no issues..
My property has spotty (on a good day) cell coverage. 4G is a pipe dream. I'll have to stick with a system which creates its own mesh feeding to a central device with a cell booster.
I figured out how to make one of these before watching this video..I wanted to put my similar type solar panel camera on my awning post out front in my front yard... So I didn't have to drill holes on my wall with vinyl sidings . It also affords me a much better view of my surroundings taking advantage of the 360 panning with tilt. i.e. I can pan it to face the house if I want to....albeit a bit close. My camera needs to be connected to my wi-fi for it to function. My awning posts are metal bars with the S shape decoratives in between so I made my pod with a deep 1 inch wide gap in between so it can straddle the "S" ..and I further secured it by drilling a couple of holes on the board and tying zip ties through them to the post.
Thank you for sharing a great video. I have a commercial property that I want a camera on a palm tree that cannot have holes in it. The camera will face the front of the building from the parking lot. Using your method, I will attach your camera mount with a strap not damaging the palm tree. Thank you for the great share.
Could you cover the ports and lense and solar panel with painter's tape and then spraypaint everything to closely match the tree bark or to match the pod wood color.
Why would you want to hide the camera?....I want them to see it so they know they are being watched and have the alarm sound before they break in....and once that alarm sounds they won't be hanging around for long......as the police will be on their way.
I've painted all my security cameras to blend in as well. I want the thieves to be caught, so I want my security features to blend in as much as possible. I have motion alarms that only alert me in my bedroom when the invisible barrier is broken by a vehicle or person. With my setup, I have several motion sensors with different tones that let me know if I need to check the back, front or side cameras to see what's happening. I use radar as well as heat sensor motion detectors.
Thank you for sharing this security project.Ordered a camera from Amazon Australia, USA branch would not supply me. This will save me a tonne of money instead of hooking up power to a remote shed. Must say though, 1080p is bare minimum for picture quality. Bet it cannot read a number plate.
Thought process at work here: Do ya wanna catch somebody doing something destructive? Or would you rather prevent it by letting them know they are on camera? It's all about letting folks know that they are on camera my friend....the "Once of prevention" not the "catch some jerk stealing" . I'd rather they see it and know it's there so nothing gets damaged or stolen
I had my $400 side window broken in my van, they stole my $150 Bluetooth speaker, a couple tools and equipment worth $120, a speaker and amplifier worth $80, and it took 2 weeks to get the replacement window installed. That's $850.... these cameras seem cheap by comparison.
@@randomguy2369 it works great..especially if you dont have any wifi in the property. But you need to select a location with sunlight for the solar panel to charge the camera with sufficient energy.
Yes it is a pain where rider tear up your property riding... My friends dad took a 2x4 and drove long nailed through it.. And cut the grass pulled it up, Lied it to the side dug up the dirt And buried the 2x4 with the nail up where he saw they where sneaking in.. The both got flats and the cops escorted them to jail... Bikes where impounded..
There's a cheap way to make caltrips for use on your trails, or near your property, (in case SHTF) NOT recommended if you want to injure the perps. Nails, garden hose, and lawn clippings. I cannot be held responsible for posting this.
@@michaelrickman3161 Yeah but if you injure them, that opens ground for them too sue. Not the greatest idea, best to let the cops handle it. Unless they are a threat , or trying to attack/ kill/ you. Then it’s best you handle it with some lead.
Great video. Just a quick scan seems to show you are not being flooded as in the past where the people commenting thought your property was public land. I saw that on the wireless devices to monitor your property. I bought some gear and thanks again for that video.
Since this is solar, it will be extremely to see in direct sunlight. For this to really work, I'm hoping they have color options in order to make it less conspicuous. camo for the body and less shine on the glass in front of the view finder etc
Sad that our great nation has had to stoop to the level. Growing up we didn't even have a lock on the doors. We never worried about vandalism. We were taught if it isn't yours you don't touch it. Today there are school shootings and it's not safe to drive down the streets in Pittsburgh. We were warned about the evils of drugs and don't try them.
Terry, I'd say folks have been stealing since the dawn of time. It's not just the times we live in. People have no concept of property ownership. I blame poor parenting lol
I have 6 wireless cams around my house and just purchased 2 solar panels to test out. Then I can use those to monitor more often while away. Can monitor my wifi sprinkler system and keep my property secure.
One of your subscribers asked if you can open the app any time for " live feed " or does a motion sensor set it off.... and you responded ( you can open anytime for live feed ). Well that is nice.... but does a motion sensor still set it off ?? I would hope so. Can you answer this question for me please ?? And thanking you in advance.
Can those be jammed? We ended up having issues where we could see peeps approaching then we saw them leaving - they jammed our Arlo’s while they were about 30 ft and closer.
All systems can be jammed some one got into my hard wired not connected system thru the Bluetooth mouse connection ...shut the system down for 22 mins for a shoot out 2 doors up the street .
Thanks for such a detailed explanation on this camera system. I have been looking for a remote, wireless, non wifi camera. In recent days there have been thieves stealing my scrap metal from a yard that i rent. After watching your video I have confidence in buying Reolink Go PT. Thanks Again !
Just be sure that it actually pics up motion and records it. Mine is about 25 feet up a telephone pole and someone came in, put up a ladder that was near the pole, switched the camera to "off" and there's nothing on the camera's memory card. So just make sure it activated and records.
I have the other Reolink camera and it’s pretty cool. I get a text every time it goes off. I just get the $10 t mobile prepaid data card that auto pays $10 every month and it works good. Only bad thing is required cell service which can be spotty at some areas in my property.
Much appreciated. Been using wireless game cams at twice the cost and had a few fail last season. Between poachers / trespassers and deer, it gets costly. Ordered one to test out. Thx!
Spy point dropped their monthly fees last year from 20 down to 10.00 a month. and 8 bucks if you are a member. I purchased a Reolink because I like all the features it has.
I’d have to have a consistent signal for my rural property. I sometimes have cellular….. right now I have the old fashioned cameras with memory in place there. I have Kuna and Reolink at my place in town
Yes, if you have only 2 bars on your phone you maybe out of luck. But you can buy larger aftermarket antennas for the camera. I was told the same thing with my Spypoint cameras even though I only get 1 bar on my cell phone I get 2-3 bars on my cameras depending where I locate them.
I have people that think my property is theirs. They broke into my pole barn, and stacked stuff up for a quick getaway. Got into my house, and stole all the dishes and totally ransacked the house. No power in the house or pole barn. So I'm also looking for a way to make an off grid power source, and self resetting alarm switch. I bought 5 105 DBA alarms that I experimented with. Yes those 105 DBA alarms work cululatively, they will totally disorient the subjects, and draw attention to the area. 525 DBA hurts!
The service/fee is tied to the SIM card. …you can move the SIM card to a different camera, but only only camera/device will have Internet connectivity at a time.
@@djjohnson75 But @ 13:55 he did say various cameras and ten bucks a month in the same sentence. Not sure if he meant for all the cameras or for each one.
@@aikonomic I have cell trail cameras, they are 10.00 each on a plan....I would imagine this would be close to the same. And I believe you can have as many cameras as you want as I would think they would all come with a sim card like my trail cameras....I have 4 cameras I don't mind the price of the payment plan because my place is very secluded and I get the odd trespasser when I'm not around. I like this system as you can set off an alarm....
We have Riolinks setup for Verizon since the Verizon signal is strong, TMobile weak, here. Goiing to paint those pretty white cams more of a camo color. They work great. Do catch an occasional wildlife or wind gust. But excellent.
Nicely done for a TH-cam new product installation. I pretend I live on a farm: 1/3 acre flag shaped lot literally on a city limit but in the county; no side walks and no sewers. Thank you.
Awesome! so you can open the app and look at what the camera sees at any time in the day or do you have to wait for motion to set it off? What kind of low light/ night quality does it have?
EXCELLENT Video... Love this... Question: Since this is with T-Mobile... Did you have to pay for 3 monthly payments like you would for a phone, since this is 3 sims cards??? How much does it cost per unit to pay for the T-mobile?
Pay $10 for the SIM card and $10 per month for 2 gb prepaid plan...that's it...I have 5 of these now so $50 per month for monitoring my entire 150 acre property
Informative video (liked and already subbed), But, it sticks out like a sore thumb. It needs to be camo colored same as tree in your case. You were talking fast and I saw it instantly before you first started talking about it not being noticeable.
Get three cans of spray paint: flat black, tan, and olive green. Mask off whatever you don't want painted (e.g. the camera lens, solar panel, etc) and paint random stripes on it until it's camo'd the way you want. Worked wonders for my trail cams.
@@joejamison Was about to meantion the same ;- )) Still going to have people spray them without masking off the lens lol. Suggest RTV @ conn. points. May be possible to tie in to Musk's starlink (or skylink) system for remote regions which I may do as well. Is another on the market one could place 300 yds apart, is solar and FLIR. Will look more in to this as well...thank you
I mounted my camera to a tree using exterior screws. As the tree grows it snaps the screw (1 season). I ended up using a rubber bungee for now, working better as tree grows. I also took an old car tire inner tube and cut it to make a rain cover over camera, simple.
Older computers with 3 1/2 floppy disk had a hole to eject disk manually. I would use a paper clip to eject the disk. I assume you could do the same thing with the "RESET KEY" thanks for the video
Getting the 4G cameras for free was a really good deal. I'm not certain buying a 4G camera is a good idea, because most carriers are phasing out 4G to make room for 5G.
Pretty sure it's more like phasing out 3G and having 4G and 5G service at the same time. It would make no sense to cut off all the 4G subscribers who are probably 90% of a carriers users. Only the newest and higher end phones have 5G built into them at this time. By the time 4G get's rolled out, these cameras will be useless, broken and need replacing, and 5G will finally be standard on small internet of things (IOT) such as these cameras.

Stumbled on your channel. Boy this is winner! I putting on my boat dock. A gas stealer is coming by at night to dock. Thanks !
I am putting one one my gates and one inside my wall tent. That way they won't know the one inside is there until they are caught on camera.
I love it but I can't afford the wood backing.
😂😂
Underrated
Borrow it from his lumber pile.
Then you are deemed useless
Winner!
Good morning mr stoney F. Farmer
This is Hum - Vinbeg farms from Ghana.
They never suspected for a minute they were being watched the whole time.
what happened then? Did you arrest them?
Thanks for the idea of mounting camera and panel to a board! Simple yet Brilliant!
THAT’S EXACTLY what I’d do...1st thing. I ‘camo ‘ EVERYTHING anyway..
Some Reolink cameras come with a camo cover.
Hey that's a good idea I might get some camouflage tape or skin. Thanks for that idea.
can they rope down or blast down the camera and take it away to keep you seeing or recording them?
disguise them with a bat house or branchs that look like a nest for a large bird or squirrel . it is easy to do
My experience with security cameras is that you will get great images of whomever committed the crime ... little to no deterrence of the crime being committed. Still good to have a record if they ever get caught and for insurance purposes.
True but this one has a speaker and Mic with a motion notification so you could tell the people they are on camera and you are calling police.
I have motion detectors that sound an alarm when people enter a defined area. Then, I can check my security cameras to see what's going on.
I got some army surplus land mines....
Yeaa I know it's a real pi$$er watching your home being robbed and your stuff been taken.
Rather than just finding it's gone .
Its hardly a deterant, when he has pointed out you can barely see the camera,
This is the 3rd ReoLink unboxing/installation that I've watched. Love your portable pod. Thanks!
Used Reolink ArgusPro and an Ayrmesh hub and pair of bridges to cover 3 miles of security, linked with a few $30 TP Link routers.
What version reads plates at night?
This may be the ticket with the auto gate opener if it uses 12v…?
Are you using the Wi-Fi style or the cell type…?
I also have a clear line of sight to a metal farm canopy with a mesh router and power.
Your advice on setting up a Reolink security pod was very helpful. Thank you for posting!
Wtf, didn’t know they have free reign access. Scary stuff. Are rights and privacy being stripped everyday.
Cool, you just gave me a solution for distance home surveillance. Thanks for sharing.
I have 4 cameras outside my home on all four corners of my home for 4 years now:
Just FYI: These outdoor cameras are weatherproof.
Water proof.
Sun proof.
Rain
Snow
Ice
WORK GREAT!
No bad weather will damage these cameras.
NO NEED TO PUT A ROOF OVER THEM
We have Reolink's and have had issues with the outdoor pan and tilts needing to be factory reset once in a while but for the most part love them. Indoor and outdoor.
Reolinks are garbage for outdoor security.
@@jenkemjones68 I agree, I bought one and returned it 2 days later. Now all my cams are network digital Running Cat6
@@pissedoffpapa2841 Are your cameras spread out over the area of 3 acres? Just curious, as to the amount of cabling that would require.
Very cool that it works with cellular. thanks for the insight, Josh.
I have several of these setup using the AT&T network cost about 5 dollars a month on a data share plan. A few of my favorite things is you can live view them anytime and turn on or off notifications from the app. Handy when you are working in the areas your cameras are set to watching.
Specifically, what type of sim cards/account did you use for this?
I also highly recommend them I bought two for my home in socal and they are an awesome cam company
I just love this idea. Would you be able to make a camouflaged enclosure to hide the security camera ??? My camera was stolen from twenty five feet about the ground. Thanks
you can do whatever r you wish...however if you've got that problem you need a camera on your camera lol
So, wifi cameras you don’t have to pay the $10 monthly???
@@wjdc893 Correct.....wifi cameras have to be within proximity of a good wifi connection off your current network. Cellular service is where the monthly cost is incurred.
Josh! I have two reolink go cameras. Prior to purchase, I was lied to by t-mobile stating I had plentiful cellular in my area. Long story short and many headaches later I switched to my mobile provider at&t. That network is so limited too. Now I have two very exspensive paperweights.
if you want to sell them let me know
Very much appreciated and needed
Recently had people steal some of our baby lambs
My awning posts are metal bars with the S
shape decoratives in between so I made my pod with a deep 1 inch wide gap in between so it can straddle the "S" ..and I further secured it by drilling a couple of holes on the board
and tying zip ties through them to the post.
Thank you for showing this Josh! I love the variety on your channel. I really need one of these for our farm, you never can be too careful nowadays.
You bet!
Yes it is a good idea!
You can also use camo cloth wrap.
It would probably ruin your warranty but yes it would work.
Sorry, but I can see the camera, LOL.
Thanks for sharing. I need a security system for my homestead.
I've looked these up before absolutely great system with great reviews. But not a cheap price tag.
I had my $400 side window broken in my van, they stole my $150 Bluetooth speaker, a couple tools and equipment worth $120, a speaker and amplifier worth $80, and it took 2 weeks to get the replacement window installed. That's $850.... these cameras seem cheap by comparison.
I have a different brand camera, and my video footage, I feel, was instrumental in getting my stolen kayak back.
so cool brother you not only answered my dilemma you actually did it very grateful
We have ours installed around our farm too!
How has it held up? Havnt heard to many good things about outdoor use
@@randomguy2369 it works great..especially if you dont have any wifi in the property. But you need to select a location with sunlight for the solar panel to charge the camera with sufficient energy.
How about Lorex ?
Nice product! The small security cameras are really affordable and do an excellent job in providing visual surveillance.
Yes it is a pain where rider tear up your property riding...
My friends dad took a 2x4 and drove long nailed through it..
And cut the grass pulled it up, Lied it to the side dug up the dirt

Great Information. Very Informative. Thank You for taking the time to make this video
Think I’d consider mounting some flashing up top to act as a roof
I get Buddig lunch meat in 2lb. tupperware tubs. That's what I used.
just have to be mindful that the metal flashing doesn't hinder the cell signal.
Great video. Just a quick scan seems to show you are not being flooded as in the past where the people commenting thought your property was public land. I saw that on the wireless devices to monitor your property. I bought some gear and thanks again for that video.
Since this is solar, it will be extremely to see in direct sunlight. For this to really work, I'm hoping they have color options in order to make it less conspicuous. camo for the body and less shine on the glass in front of the view finder etc
you can always spray paint it
Thanks for the info, I've been looking at this camera😃😃😃THANKS.
I would suggest that the unit be a darker color, so it would blend in better.
unless you want folks to know your place is monitored....I do

Paid $32 for 1/2 PLYWOOD AND IT WAS ONLY A 2 FOOT BY FOUR FOOT HAD TO HAVE IT!
Those in combination with the langy solar street lights may be a good option for remote areas.
Can those be jammed? We ended up having issues where we could see peeps approaching then we saw them leaving - they jammed our Arlo’s while they were about 30 ft and closer.
Yep cell phone jammer. They are cheap. Some gas stations use them to prevent cell phone calls while pumping fuel.
@@wrongway66 Oh Good to know , thanks for the info.
Awesome. I am planning to buy from the US. On amazon it cost $289.99 for the set.
I have the other Reolink camera and it’s pretty cool. I get a text every time it goes off. I just get the $10 t mobile prepaid data card that auto pays $10 every month and it works good. Only bad thing is required cell service which can be spotty at some areas in my property.
Is that $10 per camera
@@papa1ron Wondering the same
10.00 per sim card and that's where a surveillance system will be a lot better IMHO
I appreciate this video.
I’d have to have a consistent signal for my rural property. I sometimes have cellular….. right now I have the old fashioned cameras with memory in place there. I have Kuna and Reolink at my place in town
Sounds great but having good cell service is going to be the issue.
I like the camera pod idea - brilliant mate! well done! thanks for sharing!
Dude...you're awesome! Great job!
Hey Josh, quick question, can you run multiple cameras off of one cell plan (sim card) or do you have to purchase add on lines for each camera?
The service/fee is tied to the SIM card. …you can move the SIM card to a different camera, but only only camera/device will have Internet connectivity at a time.

Since this is with T-Mobile... Did you have to pay for 3 monthly payments like you would for a phone, since this is 3 sims cards???

Thanks for the demo and promo code
Nice camera system but $290 each isn’t easy for a guy like me.😔
That’s cheaper than the ARLO Go, which average around $375 WITHOUT a solar panel.
