VERY much appreciate getting right into it without 20 minutes of waffle, this is great for us guys who needed to set a DC up quickly who have never done it before. Subscribed.
Very very helpful and easy to follow video with clear instructions and why we're doing what we're doing. I'm using this as I configure labs to follow along with my CySA+ and CASP+ studies, as well as working on Windows Server fundamentals. Tinkering around in VirtualBox with someone like you makes the experience a lot more fun! I love how you've literally mentioned everyone else I'm going to be doing: I've got Kali and my "normal" Windows OS already set up.
Great video. I downloaded Windows Server 2019 a few days ago because I just finished my CCNA but see a lot of jobs that are requiring experience with Active Domain. I just looked at the screen without knowing where to start, so this definitely gave me some good grounding to learn more.
Hi when i am trying to make vmware machine it is asking for windows server 19 key . If i dont put anaything there the windows installation stops. Any help? Thanks
when rebooting after setting up the domain, they only ask you for the password of the domain (of Cats) while they are asking me for a username what should I do?
I went through all of the steps. I have a windows 10 client is the only diffeence. I have other DHCP and DNS servers on my network but these should be seperated from the network. I have set both the client and server in the virtualbox environment to NAT. What have I done wrong. Everything works perfectly right up until the second the client 'windows 10' can't find the domain. I'm sure this is a VM issue. If I did this with two real world PC's it would probably have worked.
Try onne of the other settings in Network on the VM instead of NAT. My windows is unfornately in danish so you wouldnt know what is means but i think it translates to something like: Host limited networkcard.
When I did this my computer loads with no gui just a black screen but I can use ctrl+alt+del and click task manager and launch programs but it says that services.exe is making my cpu 100% aswell. Any ideas? Ty
If your OS is booting into a black screen it sounds like you have the wrong version of server installed, when i do the installs for my servers there is normally 2 choices, there is windows server standard/datacenter, and there is windows server standard/datacenter with desktop. or it will say with UI. what you are experiencing could be a windows server installation without gui. I have done this a few times.
Do you already know when you will release the video(s) that shows how to add a Windows 10 client to the domain and how to use KALI to attack the domain controller?
Here's how to join the Win 10 to 2019 Domain: th-cam.com/video/XzMDb-ZtzRY/w-d-xo.html Here's an exploit one (against 2016 server though): th-cam.com/video/fgoZcGtT6SY/w-d-xo.html

This. It's nice to see someone not get into a long-winded story about how they got in to computers and how they came up with their cat's name.

Doing this for the first time tomorrow, this has given me a little more confidence, thanks.
@ARENTZ // FLUX sure did, wasn’t tough as I thought, but always over think things lol.
Also 4 months ago, damn. I feel like I’ve progressed a lot since this
Took 15 minutes Masters Degree course. Thank you.
There are no words that can describe my appreciation for your effort to explain the most complex topic
Great video. Easy to follow, no zig-zag - just straight forward learning. The best video on the subject.
Thanks so much for this. I am in a course right now that just blew past this step and this is getting me back on course. I appreciate it!
What course are you doing I am doing the CompTIA A+?
This is a very helpful clear-cut video. First time setting up a Domain Controller. Again Great Video.
Very informative, set up my dc on 2019 with no hassles following step by step! Thank you!
Your Welcome Sir.
Wish I had found this video sooner. Thank you!

I consider the not knowing where to start a product problem. It should not take mass clicking around to get AD installed.
Thank you. Straightforward and clear explanation.
Thank you so much, I've been at this all day lol.
This is a really good video man, job well done
Brilliant, quick accurate and to the point, this helped me immensely
never seen this kind of video. great keep it up. 5 star
Thank you for the fast and clear instructions
This man is a lifesaver.

Awesome videos, I'm on windows server 2019, why does it say under Forest Functional level Windows Server 2016?
Thanks a lot was very informative video i learned from it cheers keep it up
Thank you , you are very helpful
Very helpful video! Thanx a bunch! :)
I really appreciate you sharing.
@0:11 are you still going to make those future videos?
I would advise adding another core to the VM before starting it. It only starts with one, and the installation takes forever
I have so far created a Windows server, how do i now enter a Server with a new user?
Hi
when i am trying to make vmware machine it is asking for windows server 19 key . If i dont put anaything there the windows installation stops. Any help? Thanks
Thank you worked perfectly!!

Did you put static IP address and check DNS. Third after installation AD check probably your DNS is 127.0.0.1 localhost

People say to use fully qualified domain tld, can you do a video on this and explain how to setup?
Are you going to be doing any more Server 2019 videos?
Possibly. Do you have any requests?
@@cisoglobalinc ftp server

Great video!!! :)
Excellent tutorial.
Thanks for the guide
After creating domain controller. my virtual box doesnt have internet? any ideas?
Check your VBox network settings. Make sure they are using NAT and make sure your DC is using DHCP.
Sounds like a DNS issue. Set the DNS on the client machine to the IP address of the domain controller. I bet that resolves the issue.
Thank u for making this video
Thank you so much

rjoni123 I did the one with gui
Thanks a ton for this
nice video. but where to go from here?
Virtual Box did not work for me, so i used Hyper-V. That worked out pretty good.
I don't think it can use virtualbox if hyper-v is enabled.
Thank you
très instructif merci
where is the next video please?
Perfect🎉❤
are you going to exploit zerologon vulnerability

No. you can use dogs.local, if you want :)

for some reason after i made my server a domain controller it doesn't boot anymore.
What does it do? It should boot up fine, just like before.
My DNS didnt work
my password not work any password
Hi
Custom setting password?
Not sure what you're asking?
Great video but your complex passwords are not long enough :)
avoid at ALL costs. Unless you trust daily Gates security flaws
Generally good video but could have been 5 minutes instead of 15... We came here to see how to set up a DC, don't need to include how to set up a windows VM
