One-Year Crew Docking to the International Space Station

  • : This video was taken by the crewmembers aboard the Soyuz TMA-16M spacecraft which docked to the International Space Station at 9:33 p.m. EDT March 27, 2015. NASA astronaut Scott Kelly and Russian cosmonauts Mikhail Kornienko and Gennady Padalka arrived just six hours after launching from Baikonur, Kazakhstan, completing four orbits around the Earth before catching up with the orbiting laboratory.
The vehicle docked to the Poisk module (also known as the Mini-Research Module 2) on the space-facing side of the Russian Service Module. The spinning object in view is an antenna that is part of the automatic rendezvous and docking system known as KURS.
Kelly and Kornienko will spend about a year living and working aboard the space station to help scientists better understand how the human body reacts and adapts to the harsh environment of space. Most expeditions to the space station last four to six months. By doubling the length of this mission, researchers hope to better understand how the human body reacts and adapts to long-duration spaceflight. This knowledge is critical as NASA looks toward human journeys deeper into the solar system, including to and from Mars, which could last 500 days or longer. It also carries potential benefits for humans here on Earth, from helping patients recover from long periods of bed rest to improving monitoring for people whose bodies are unable to fight infections.

Awesome footage! I've always wondered what the experience is like and
this is just fabolous, especially in the raw format where you not only get
to see the video, but also hear what it sounds like. I would love to see
something like this for the launch, stage separation, etc...where you
can see what the astronauts would see if they were looking out the
window of the capsule and get a sense of what it sounds like and
the dynamic feel of the whole process...that would be amazing!

Stars aren't usually visible in orbit on the day side. The reflected sunlight from Earth "drowns" them out. Later in the video Station and Soyuz pass into night. Stars still aren't visible because the camera is pointing straight "down" towards Earth. What suprises me is how dark it gets on the night side.

Perhaps a Go-Pro of some kind was used. Since this is a compilation of many videos, done by several different people; you would have to go to each person's page and look up each video used here, to see if the camera is listed there. It would be nice if the information was more readily available, but it isn't.

    • @WeaselLevelDesign
      @WeaselLevelDesign 9 ปีที่แล้ว

This video is one continuous shot - at a later part you can clearly see the GoPro housing, which is unique from its material, shape and black clip on top. Soyuz have been using GoPros for the last couple launches (they even mention it in their checks now).

***** Well it's very hard to believe for those of us like myself who were born into the current model we are taught but we in fact live on some sort of relatively flat terrain and the entire concept of "space", including "orbit" first does not make sense when analyzed with any degree of honest inspection and fits into the strange reality that we have been deceived by a relatively small group of people to hide a very massive world around us. Look at UFO footage as I like to use as an example of what really exists but "mainstream: won't even acknowledge.
We are essentially in a nature reserve surrounded by highly intelligent life.

***** Travelling in a circle does not mean going around a sphere. Just because we (a few of us who congregate together these days in this relatively small area) haven't been outside of our current map it doesn't mean what we are told is correct about what it does look like. You say no one in history? Well that is assuming a lot. The things in the sky are not what we are told. We are basically in an aquarium, my friend, and we are the pets.
If you like things in the sky (which are orbs for lack of a better word, and more reminiscent of a flying machine than a "planet") check out a few of the UFO videos I posted as it might give you a context of what I feel the technology that surrounds us in the "stars" is closer to than the vague theories about gas and molecules from various incredible distances. Their nonsense theories are exactly that; nonsense. They have built an entire culture around pretending to have all the answers but when in reality the ones that logical thinking persons are providing make a lot more sense.

Who is seeking attention? You, by calling someone a clown? Or do you say something like that just for personal satisfaction?
