I have tried a lot of the popular drop shot worms but my go to for the past 3 years has been the reins bubbling shaker. It’s an amazing bait with great action and stands strait out on the hook. I would definitely recommend buying a few packs in your favorite sizes and colors to try.
Very informative. As the pressure in the DFW area picks up, I find myself resorting to light line tactics more often. I caught several big largemouth with light line this past year, but I’m still learning a lot. Thanks for sharing! 👊🏻
I fish deep reservoir in Tennessee. Big rocks, gravel banks, lay downs, docks and brush piles are the only cover. How do you keep from losing your weight in big rocks? Thanks
Stay away from ball type weights. Use the cylinder type weights he uses in the vid. Keep your rod tip shoulder to eye level and FEEL your way through the rocks
What brand fluoro do you use and how do you match up the strengths? For example if your using 12 lb fluoro leader what strength braid are you using for the main line?
I use a variety of Fluoro...I like Gamma, Bass Pro Shops 100% and Sunline. I don't think you can go wrong with those brands. My mainline is either 5lb braid or 10lb braid. and I use anywhere from 4-12 lb flouro on those lines. The higher flouro leader like 10 and 12 is mostly on my 10lb braid rods.
@@SmallmouthCrush 5lbs braid and 4lb flourocarbon? When do you ever go that light? Been a subscriber to the channel for a while and first time I ever heard you go that light.
Another great video, Travis. I throw a lot of Roboworm stuff; love Aaron’s Magic, Prism Shad, Morning Dawn, and a bunch more get time. I also really like the Missile craw as a powershot bait, as well as their Fuse 4.4 for both largemouth and smallness. I also use a bunch of baits you mentioned.
Yamamoto 4 inch cut tail worms. Standard colors and merthiolate. 4 inch Senko's including bubblegum pink on occasion. Wacky and nose hooked. Gammy drop shot hooks all the way.
I'm glad I subbed to your channel man now I'm bindge watching and learning a ton. Thanks for taking the time to share the wealth of knowledge. And definitely the zoom finesse worm and the robo worm. Green pumpkin, watermelon seed and morning dawn. I learned to use yellow power pro with a floro leader from Gary Yamamoto. It helps to see the line and gives amazing sensitivity. I'm like you, 80% of the time I'm drop shotting. There's thick cover in the Guadalupe so most of the time I use a 1/0 offset worm hook to keep it weedless. I try to keep an exposed hook but tying a leader on when I get snagged gets old lol
I was never able to find someone to mass produce those. Best bet is to contact someone who ties marabou jigs and ask them to tie the fly on your favorite drop shot hook.
Never once did you mention the height adjustment on drop shot being say 12 in to 18 in about the other stuff but you never mention the height to use for Drop shots 18 in or 10 in
I have used it for largemouth on beds in the past and it does work real well....I mostly think of that bait as a goby imitator bait and works great for smallmouth of course.
Small mouth crush.... Great advice... it does work in southern Ohio... I've caught some large mouth bass on it... Usually it's crank baits for me... Glad you had great time fishing and hunting show....See you on lake maybe... 😎😎😎
Excellent video, thanks. Just subscribed. Thanks too for posting links to older related videos, I have a lot to catch up on!
Great I appreciate it!

Just used drop shot for the first time today. I gotta say, drop shot is awesome. I used a trick worm and a shimmer shad. A lot of great bites.
When and where do you throw that morning dawn. One of my favorite colors btw.
I use it more so when the water temp is below 70 degrees.....spring time mostly. Just a good confidence color for me.

Also tie them on directly not just clinch them on. Sometimes by tieing you can pull a bit harder.
Thanks y'all. I enjoy the content you put out Travis. Keep it up it's helped me a bunch
I cant wait to try that area 51 pilot fish for smallies here in Maine. Got them from the New England expo this year when I met you!
They will tear them up!
I use the yamamoto shad shape worm a lot too
Travis do you ever use the rubber ring when you drop shot wacky style?
Yes I do!
Those luck E steikes have been a secret bait of mine too. Thr yum sharpshooter has a similar profile now

SmallmouthCrush awesome thanks for the tip. Hope to see you out on the Upper Bay this year.

See you at the Oaks PA show next week.
Ill be there all 3 days!

Great thanks Randy!
Do you find the VMC split shots work? I am too lazy to tie a palomar.
They will get you by for sure
Best video I have seen that you have put out. Very useful for me fishing in urban jungle creek in Southern California (San Diego).
Thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Great video Travis as usual. Just curious if you always use a short leader when power shotting?
6-12 feet is the leader length of choice
As always great video! For sure will try a little “power shotting” on Oneida this summer for some Largies. Can’t wait for the next video!
It will work out there!
Perfect timing, I bought a few keitechs because of a few videos ago you talked about em,
Great!!
Travis .. freaking AWESOME tip on heating up the shakey head with a lighter to attach a ZMan bait .. thanks 😎
What is the distance between your hook and weight usually when dropshotting?
6-12 inches for largemouth and I have gone up to 2 feet for smallmouth on a regular basis and as long as 8 foot at times for suspended fish
SmallmouthCrush Thanks...appreciate the reply!
My favorite for L.m.is a zoom shaky head...the small one in w.melon magic
don't they have a tapered tail? if were thinking of the same bait its awesome!
Cool Bud Thanks Always Great Info.
Freaking awesome video man, very informative like usual! What kind of knot do you use for both texas and nose rigging drop shots?
Uni Knot will work just fine!
Awesome, thanks man! That’s what I’ve been using and it’s been working well for me but just wanted to see what you’ve been using.
Picked up 10 packs of those "secret sauce " baits. Thanks for the heads up!
Yamamoto 4 inch cut tail worms. Standard colors and merthiolate. 4 inch Senko's including bubblegum pink on occasion. Wacky and nose hooked. Gammy drop shot hooks all the way.
Try the strike king ocho i love it works better than a senko
What about for spots? Same thing??
I would certainly give these baits a try for spots. I don't get the chance to fish for them as often as I would like.

THANKS CRUSH, GREAT STUFF!
Great videos!! Keep it up! 4.5" curly tail Robo Worm Bold bluegill for largemouth
what about the dropshot hair? You never followed up on it
