Right now I use an ESV thinline for preaching and the ESV compact as a pocket Bible that goes with me everywhere. I've been looking at the Legacy as I have never used a single column. But the last couple days the Pitt minion has peaked my interest (even though it does not really fit the category I am looking for). Thanks for the video! God bless you and your ministry.
That’s fair enough - I’ve never actually used a verse-by-verse Bible before, so potentially it’s just something you do or don’t get used to. Thanks for stopping by to leave a comment :)
Great review! I love my pitt minion but the one thing I found disappointing with mine is the red under gold art gliding rubbing off after only a few weeks.
Hi Daniel, great vid! I noticed around 3:30 that your ESV looks like it’s a black letter version? Or is it just the lighting? I had thought the only black letter ESV pitt was in the imitation leather version. I have several different Pitts and I’m looking for black letter editions. Thanks!
Maybe in that Indiana Jones way that it’s the one you’d least expect! The Pitt Minion / Wide Margin combo is so good for the way I study and work that I can’t imagine changing away. The only thing that might do it is if somebody were to gift me a full matching set of Schuyler Quentels!
Thanks! It’s a traveller’s journal. You spend a little more to buy a good leather cover, and it has interchangeable inserts. I was going to make a video about it to boost it, but the company I got it from went bust during the pandemic.
I’m still using it daily! It’s almost 6 years since I got it. (I really need to do a follow-up video). This one is the brown goatskin, and it’s doing fine after 6 years of continuous use.
The Cambridge Pitt Minion, the Cambridge Wide Margin (also called the Aquila) and the Cambridge Diadem all have identical layouts. The PM is the small one, the Diadem is bigger, and the Aquila is the big one with the space for notes.
I’ve been round the houses man. I did recently get myself an Allan Bible, and it’s taken over as my daily reading Bible. Still can’t beat the Pitt/Wide Margin combo for pastoral and preaching work though!
I shouldn't like the Pitt Minion, either. Just to make sure that I shouldn't like them, I purchased four of them - NKJV, NIV, ESV and NLT. Yes, I definitely shouldn't like them, but they are unquestioningly my favorite Bibles. BTW... what happened to the gold lettering on the spine of your Pitt Minion, Daniel?
The gold lettering on the spine just wore off - it was mostly gone within about 6 months of regular use. I don’t think I worked my PM particularly hard, though, and my Clarion still has bright, bold lettering on the spine after 5 years of regular use, so I suspect my Pitt had a slight manufacturing fault. I have grown to love the plain, unmarked leather, though!
For the KJV, I use a thumb-indexed Cambridge Clarion, and I also have two Cambridge Cameos - one of the Cameos has the Apocrypha. I don't use a KJV Pitt Minion because I prefer the King James in verse-by-verse format - not paragraph format.@@JordanWallace-nb4id
Your experience matches mine! It’s also useful to have this video seeing that Everhard’s crash tests are with the calf split. Keep the videos coming!

I saw this video literally after I bought both of it! AHHHH thanks for sharing this!
Thanks for the video brother, I've been thinking about picking one of these up myself. This may have just convinced me
I hope it works out for you - I didn’t expect it to be as good as it is, maybe the Pitt will grab you too!
But the words of God in the King James Bible.

I struggle preaching from a paragraph layout. I like reading from them though. I like the verse by verse layout for preaching. Enjoyed the video

I’ve had the same experience. Hilarious. Very excited for the diadem in NKJV

It’s not just the lighting! The brown goatskin is black letter, while the black goatskin is a red letter edition.
Heyy, even I'm planning to buy one for me..so do you think this Pitt minion was the holy grail you were looking in bibles?

Fantastic Bible.
Agreed :)
Enjoyed your video. I am curious what kind of journal cover that is sitting on your wide margin?

Hello, how long have you been using this Bible? How long would a goatskin Pitt last for? God bless!

I was hoping to like this but my first impression isn’t a good one. The font is entirely too small for normal reading.
That is the one caveat, yeah. I still found that it was readable, but it’s totally fair to say that the typeface is too small for some.
Could you please provide the two bibles that have the exact layout for us? I got the Cambridge Pitt Minion, What is the other please?

The Pitt Minion could certainly be your one and only Bible if you can read small print.
I agree! And for the rest, there’s the Diadem :)
have you tried an allan?

What about the KJV the living words of God? Oh I guess you just choose what you fancy right? Yay hath God said?

Irishmen, Scotsmen, Welshmen, Englishmen. Are they evenly evangelical or does one widely stand out as more evangelical than the other?
I don’t know how to answer that question. I’ve only ever lived in Scotland.
