    Arabesque is such a good song the wind ensemble at my school is doing and the contra alto and bass clarinet parts are so powerful I love ut

      @@qwoey That'd be cool, but no, there is a clarinet somewhat in the middle of bass and contrabass, and one of the three bass players at my school. me being one, owns a contra alto. It sounds awesome
      Edit: Also i looked it up and apparently the Contra alto is technically a Contrabass, just a E flat contrabass. 👍

    Now, try playing a plastic trombone with a metal mouthpiece. I use a mouthpiece from my alto and tenor trombones at church and I sound great!!

      @@todcroft6435 not really, there is a bass guitar but it is a Spanish instrument in Spain. Lay people do call the electric bass a guitar, but it's not. String basses have 4 strings mostly. BTW the entire name is BASS VIOLIN

    I think it also has a lot to do with the mouthpiece, it might be even more the mouthpiece than the trombone. You should try that one next.

    I hate when people give trombones slurs when they can’t do a proper slur. They have to do a slight tongue in order to make the notes sound good.

    I wish my school would play this, such an amazing piece, but we are playing another piece by Samuel R. Hazo called "Ride"
    ...It's cool too I guess... just has no low brass feature (My band director is very biased in favor of the woodwinds, it's pretty unfortunate that I am currently the only good brass player, I plan to really help my section for the next year so that we could potentially get more challenging pieces)

      I'm currently playing Ride in my band. Im currently on Euphonium and while the occasional sixteenth runs are cool, there are just chords everywhere else. Though we are also playing Holst's Second Suite so that makes up for it

      I would always think of the Hazo pieces as an opportunity to develop long tones and dynamics, being able to start as softly and possible and such.

    Arabesque is one of my all time favorite pieces that I got to play in Highschool. I had the Bass Trombone part and this section as well as one near the end goes hard as hell.

    If you're looking for a genuine comparison
    1. Clean, but lost it towards the low end. Not sure if that was a lips or instrumental issue.
    2. Crisp Af, maybe a little sharp.
    3. Crisp again, lost the tonguing slightly towards the end.
    4. Alto Trombone if I'm not mistaken. Straight up took that slide off.
