Wow that sounds really nice. I'm sure that song could sell speakers. That one song has a lot of detail on high end speakers. It does sound like a sub woofer is active. Very impressive.
It is a great song.... listened to it when it was popular on the radio (dating myself)...lol In that case, without subs active, that set really produces full bass response. I have a sub active here as I listen to these and it's quite active during playback. Thanks for your reply and you're most welcome for the comment. I'm subscribed also. :)
Thank you for your comments! The ProAcs are playing completely by themselves. I wanted to showcase what these speakers can do without any help. The Response 2.5 has a rated frequency response of 20Hz to 30kHz. The position of the camcorder (Samson ZOOM Q2HD) is not ideal for stereo imaging, but I wanted to provide a stationary view of the speakers for their first video demonstrations. Please Subscribe if you haven't already to be notified of my next videos as they will provide better imaging.
Thank you for requesting such a great song! I forgot all about The Art of Noise and this specific track -it really took me back. Believe it or not, the subs were off -I was playing the system in 2.0 to showcase the ProAcs alone. I plan to make many more videos on the Response 2.5 in the near future, and the sound will be even better (at least better stereo imaging) with a better audio placement. Due to room size it's a challenge to get both speakers in the video simultaneously w/ideal imaging.
I take it those have subs accompanying the other drivers in each cabinet? Or do you have a sub active with these two channels? In any case, they sound very good in the video so I am sure they sound much better in person.
Thank you for your comments. It's arguable, and I'm sure it depends upon the room size and shape as well as placement of the loudspeakers. In my listening room, clarity is improved as well as imaging and sound staging by having the tweeters positioned inward, minimizing diffraction from the side walls. Thanks again, and don't forget to Subscribe! ♫
@@theaudiophilestore It is also recommended by ProAc to have the tweeters on the inside. I hadn't realized the 2.5's went down to 20hz. At the cost they go for now (8 years after your initial vid post), they may just be what I'm looking for. I enjoy all kinds of music, but in all honesty - do these do rock?
Please have a look at this other video (search TH-cam for wMXvdVoXB0A) for another song you might like as well. I found this song here on YT and ended up buying the album. This song really puts a speaker through its paces with bass response, imaging, and clarity. Feel free to let me know what you think of my former speaker project design and of the song.
ramon vives It would only have to move a lot of air if you wanted the 20Hz to be LOUD. But whats the point IF the Mids suffer? that's where human ears are most sensitive and that's where 90% of the musical information is located. A 3 way speaker could theoretically play to 20HZ and still have clear mids if everything was designed damn near perfectly, because the mids would come out of a different driver and the movement wouldn't disrupt the subtleties of the vocal range. Regardless it's all hog wash because the speakers LF response is about 33HZ and his IN ROOM response goes "as low as" 20 HZ but 1) there is so little musical information that low if it's not executed properly or tampers with the mids it's not worth it and 2) there are 100,000 dollar speakers that barely do 20Hz PROPERLY and you can pretty much bet most other speakers AREN'T doing it properly if they're like 4500 bucks. 3) there may be NO frequencies measured BETWEEN 33HZ and 20HZ due to room acoustics and wouldn't that just suck? Basically you can get some speakers you like that sound good. And if your a "sound stage" junky and think you can hear "20 Hz and below" get a sub or two for the "ambience of the recording room". Personally I've never experienced it.
Dave H Pretty nice detailed explanation. And for sure I don't think I can hear 20hz and below like some golden-ears audio gear reviewers. Regarding the add of a subwoofer I tried a couple of times to add successfully, first a cheap Yamaha, later a expensive REL (to my Focal Electra 1028). I listened both quite directional regarless location or tuning. That "ambience of the recording room" is a very, very elusive matter.
ramon vives Ya i'm not a bass hound myself either. I live in a concrete Apt, concrete, but apt non the less. apparently low frequencies have such a long wave length you need a large room even to hear them because one full cycle is like 30 something feet so really your neighbor gets the 20HZ haha. you get whatever bass can make one full cycle between your own walls.
Thanks again, and you are always welcome to comment on any of my videos anytime!

Love proac.not available in Brunei Darusalam
Gran sonido espectacular y fino
Oh... thank you for the vid. Great.
Very nice...

what is set up? amp and preamp?
Really nice sounding system but the ProAc need more free space to get the best out of them. Good song 👍
Why is this specific song so popular? ♫
verry good
aren't tweeters supposed to go on the outside? it is said it will help sound stage.

With the right amp, these speakers just fully disappears.

I wonder how that rather little bass driver can go down 20hz?? Proac are a class apart indeed.
the mids CANT be as smooth as another similar speaker not playing 20HZ.
Dave H Yes, but you need move a lot of air to go that down, Even spekers with 10" aluminum bass drivers do not reach the 20 hz threshold.
