This should be an official Roland demo on their website. It’s totally amazing. You’ve completely nailed it. To think all of this is only coming from the Jupiter X. It’s a huge selling point for them. Jarre himself would be proud of this. ****Roland take note****
It's a powerful synth indeed! Definitely much better and nicer sounding than the stupid overly priced clunky 50 year old Jupiter 8! I have the smaller jupiter xm and it definitely does things that my 40 year old roland and korg analogs could never even dream of doing👍
@@markvigil8667It's definitely a powerhouse, and although it's been out a few years, we will continue to see it pushed to new highs by a growing user community. The Jupiter 8 though remains an icon.
What a huge amount of sound design and preparations this must have taken!!! This is a major achievement. I wonder how JMJ reacts as he hears that this comes form just 1 synth!! What a time to be alive!! What a performance!!!!
Remember hearing this album aged about 9 in my late dads Ford Cortina circa 1980. He had a great taste in music, as for the cars……. Still sounds groundbreaking after all these years.
the impossible is possible, great timing/sound/studio... the quality is all excellent... it's more than a master class... all the sequences... never really seen it like that... I'm speechless... all the mistakes ..there are no mistakes in that regard...so none are visible in the whole live tour...the rest is not worth mentioning, maybe there are 1000 people on the planet who can play it on the Synthesizer like that in the course of...30 minutes Really Heavy Class.Regards Dragan.
All except the 1000. I would be surprised if even 50 could do it -and most would have worked for JMJ directly… there would be many more TH-cam videos of other people doing it.
@@zgolkar ..I thought..there was only one person like me...who saw something like that...Thank you...and yes, sure..maybe 50...didn't want that...little hollow out :)

Jarre is my main inspiration to compose electronic music. I'm 57 now and started to get back into it after 20+ years putting it aside regrettably. Masterful work! It showcases the capabilities of the synth and the raw talent you possess! I'd love to hear a Kraftwerk album done this way from you or even equinoxe!!! I can't imagine the amount of prep work that went into this, awesome job! 💯 👍
Amazing absolutely amazing THE best synth demo EVER. Period. I grew up with JMJs music and to hear this amazing demo coming out of a single keyboard is truly amazing Well done ❤
There ya go!...What a JP-X can really do. Spot on programming/playing. J.M. Jarre was a huge influence when I was a kid. Couldn't wait to buy my first synth after this album came out. BTW: Roland should watch this video and pay attention. They need help with their marketing because the JP-X is a very valid (but misrepresented) synth... I love mine!
I’m sitting watching this on my 65 inch telly at the moment (I’m commenting from my phone) and felt compelled to tell you how utterly magical this is. I’m pretty speechless here. And how great to see a Korg micro preset over your shoulder!!
Very evocative of the master's work. Impressive multitasking with the real time selection of patches and programs. I was expecting a sample of selected sounds and grooves to watch for 15 minutes while waiting for a live podcast. But instead got this enjoyable one-man performance encapsulating almost the entirety of one of my all-time favourite records. And I stayed 'til the end, missingbthe first 15 minutes of the 'cast I was waiting for! Bravo! 😊
Same. First I heard was equinoxe part 5 on radio 2 while having breakfast getting going for school. Had never heard sounds like it before and was hooked. Ordered from the local record shop as soon as I could get there.
There are cork sniffers that spend all their time banging on about some synths aren’t ‘warm’ or don’t have ‘core tone’ (?), you know, the ‘it’s a VST in a box’ crowd, and basically need the validation of owning something ‘critically’ acclaimed but never make music. And then there’s you, that get the best out of an instrument and just make things sound musical and fantastic. Bravo.
Oh my word, this is so amazing. The playing is top notch, and the config changes in between playing chords, and the bringing in and out of backing sections along the way is so impressive. But, on top of all that, is the skill to utilise all the capabilities of that powerful keyboard and arrange all the backing parts, the presets and the playable sections and set that out as a performance. Awesome.
Συγχαρητήρια!!! Never thought that Jupiter X could reproduce sounds similar to the legendary EMS Synthi AKS or EMS VCS3. Wonderful demonstration and performance!
This performance makes love more and more the Jupiter X. I think this is going to be my first synthesizer. Congrats... Such a beautiful performance, programming and sequencing. Greatings from a jarre's fan.
What an awesome way to revive one of the greatest electronic albums ever made! Thank you very much for the great effort you have put into playing and programming this
Very good use of the scenes, their sound-sustain-after-switch-feature, and I think sometimes the trick to put several sounds in a patch is used. You know, a scene on the X can contain 4 patches (parts)and a drumset, each with a 64 step sequencer or arp. But since each patch in the zen-core engine can itself have four indiviual partials (or the X-model 4 OSCs), you can use the partial mix sliders to change the sound on a single part and this way get more than 4 sounds running at the same time (though they play the same MIDI notes). My most complex setup yet for playing (just one song) live this way utilized two scenes and one multi-sound patch. So what you did here is really a brilliant job, I think this is what the Roland designers of Jupiter-X had in mind - being able to play such synth songs live, just with the Jupiter X. So much fun.
music of my youth and I need to admit I really admire your skills, you nailed the sounds unbelievably well! Hope one day Roland kicks butts of their own PR dept and outsources it with enthusiasts such as you. Thank you for this vid!
