Modern Radio stations ARE a marvel of technology and efficiency... but also, IMO, its incredibly sad what has become of radio. There are NO "flavors" to radio anymore its just unmanned desks running pre-prepared programs.
It aint WKRP anymore... still very cool to see a station though.

As a Spokane resident it's pretty sureal to see MRJ and DMP getting pick ups at the same stores I shop in. It's a real shame you guys didn't get to see Trade-A-Game in Spokane when it was open. It was a humongous mom and pop retro store that served the Spokane community for close to 30 years before having to close during Covid. They had a great trade in system, especially for kids, that allowed all classes of folks to get and play a multitude of games. Check out John Riggs' video trip there sometime.

I liked the nature and the road itself more in this plot. This year I have lost all desire to continue collecting my favorite games on retro consoles. Due to the actions of resellers, prices have risen significantly, constant competition with hucksters in an attempt to have time to buy the copy you need before they buy everything and put it twice more expensive at local flea markets. I don't need these video games.

I always love your videos, but this one was truly special and one of the best in a long time (don't take that the wrong way). I say that because you had some great things going on here that either are just plain fun (showing the environment in the Yakima/Spokane area along with the snow in the mountains- that was cool), but then BOOM! Drunken Master Paul in the HOUSE! (I know, I know, pandemic and you moved too, so WE have no idea if you moved closer or farther away from Paul.
Then if that wasn't a great enough surprise… John Riggs shows up! (Albeit John's appearance was a cameo sort of, and we got to see the radio station too. Very cool.) After all of that the shops you went to were really great shops.
I know you moved about an hour south of where you used to live and where that is in relation to the rest of the JMR gang lives we wouldn't know. So, that may cause you not to see some people as often, like Reggie for example. I need to start getting some of my cohorts in my videos... but I may need some ether or chloroform to get them in my studio in front of a camera hahaaa! (not kidding). Have a great weekend, MJ. (P.S. more Drunken Master Paul let's plays!)
Dude, I could take you around to all the great places in Ohio NW & NE Ohio. There's great places here too!

Between you and Riggs, you would think someone could spare some hair for DMP. Riggs is getting pretty close to you in hair length, MJ.

I had been thinking about one of these stores carrying strategy guides literally SECONDS before your camera swung into view of a massive shelf full of guides. I miss them.

At first I thought "Oh my God why is that Tetris 99 dollars" but I am assuming thats the super rare Japanese variant of it? I swear I saw a video talking about it a year or so ago. Pretty cool.

honestly where are they coming up with these prices? I went into a retro store last weekend and saw a Super Metroid, not in box, no manuals or anything for $150.00. I also saw a sega genesis (not modified- like with the HD plug soldered into the system so you can use HDMI) with sega cd and 32x all together for $250.00... AT MOST that genesis with the attachments should have been $70 to $80 bucks. It's very common stuff. I know they the pickers are screwing up the hobby, but this is ridiculous, especially when I go to a flea market and see a guy set up with 10 snes systems all with the same 10 games each one priced at $250.00. ALL retro systems, other than the ones that have been refurbished with new parts and setup for HD should be below $40. The ones that have been refurbished with new parts I can understand pricing at $60 to $80 and the ones with the HD a little bit more, but these people are crazy thinking people will pay that price on an old system that you can find at yard sales and flea markets for $10.

I would never buy stuff at these prices unless it was something I couldn’t find elsewhere. For example a loose copy of Tetris gameboy for $99.99? That has to be a typo, I looked on price charting and didn’t see any variant worth that much. HOWEVER these game stores probably have a LOT of overhead costs like rent, wages, and so on and therefore have to charge higher prices to cover the costs.

Game World has a great selection of trinkets and games but sadly they’re the kind of shop where the prices change at the cash register. Not every employee does it but far to often they do. Shouldn’t even put the prices on the boxes if you’re just going to change them anyway.

I remember playing the Carmen SanDiego games in the mid-80s on the Apple IIe at school on those green monitors. Seemed like by the time it booted up I barely had time to play! Thanks for highlighting these stores. I used to order from 4Jays in Antioch, CA - they’d likely be worth a video. I found a few stores in the Tampa/Lakeland, FL area that I liked.

Imagine a tag team with Metaljesus and Riggs with Drunken Master Paul as their mouthpiece. That would be amazing lol
