Im sure you will read this a LOT in the comments but we missed you so much! These hunting and pickup videos are the best on YT. You do such an awesome job hitting the high points perfectly and getting right to the point, thank you so much for another amazing pickup video! Glad to see you back!

Glad to see you came here. A bit of a clarification: The area you referred to as Music Row is not actually Music Row. The area you went to is Lower Broadway. Music Row is 16th and 17th Avenues South, and is known as Music Row because of the high concentration of recording studios.
Ok... for some reason there was confusion because one map said to was and another didn't. I actually argued with my wife about it! LOL Thanks for the clarification.
@@MetalJesusRocks @Mike Kunkel is absolutely right. The shot @13:18 during your closing of the video features the Music City Center (the place shaped like a giant guitar). You actually filmed that from Demonbreun St. (Not pronounced demon-brewin, Da-muhn-bree-uhn) and if you kept going to your right for about a mile you'd hit a roundabout, and that's where Music Row starts.
Long time fan of your channel. As a gamer and general dentist, I have experience working with patients that are going through what you are with your dental work. It was cool seeing a new video. Thanks for sharing your life with us.
I'm not gonna lie, it's been a challenge! My front four teeth are currently temporary resin as I use Invisalign to widen my jaw over the next two years...then I'll get either implants or a bridge. But yeah, harder than I expected.
The Broadway area that you were in is basically just a giant tourist trap. There's a joke amongst Nashvillians that if you see anyone wearing a cowboy hat or boots, they aren't from Nashville. No one in Nashville wears cowboy boots or cowboy hats, but tourists think that we just walk around listening to country music wearing our boots. Basically anyone in that area that's from Nashville is just working at one of the bars, restaurants, etc. We consider it to be Nashville's Hell. :)

I have a question for the MJR crew: What are your guilty pleasure games?/Games that are bad but just have a special place in your heart and you come back to them every now and then.
Though many say that it's the worst or not a great zelda, mine is skyward sword. The music and story I love and even though its a zelda game, for me it's a game where a friend sets out to save their friend. Plus when it came out I was lonely and didn't have many friends in school so it felt like I was setting out in my own world to save a friend as corny as that sounds.
Hmmm.... that's a tough one cuz I like a lot of 6 or 7/10 games, ya know? They don't have to be perfect if I get em cheap and they offer a couple hours of stupid fun. I guess the one that comes to mind is Devil's Third on Wii U. I didn't think it was as bad as everybody said! I mean, it's janky as hell... but still a lot of stupid fun too!

I lived in Nashville for 3 years (from the UK). Nashville has become the epicentre of the US music industry. Lots of labels, studios, publishers and producers have moved there over the last 10 years. Resulting in possibly the best music scene anywhere in the World right now. Really varied, and it's shaking off that country assumption with the music scene too. Looks like you had an incredible time.

Happy to see your back at it! I am going through a lot of dental work(don't neglect your teeth people!) and know the struggle is real. Looking forward to years of videos
Hi Metal Jesus, It's so great & exciting to see you & your wife going to Nashville in Tennese, Plus you done quite a bit of game hunting including a huge variety of big huge stores, including Acade Machines & so much more, I've really enjoyed watching all your videos especially this one, Take care dude😄😄👌👍👍🎮🕹🎮
Finally, my neck of the woods! McKay's is great. It's always a bit of a drive for me, but worth it! I was able to fill out most my 3DS model collection in a single trip.
It’s mostly rock bands in Nashville now. Nashville hasn’t burned 100% country since the 1970s and probably never will be again. I like that you set a reminder your Vegas because Nashville is basically just another Las Vegas now. Dope game finds though! Love it. If you ever make it to Michigan, we have a lot of great spots to pick up good games.
Its nice seeing light on stuff like this in my town. Now I see a new con I have to go to that I didnt know existed . Also Gibson has had a presence here in Nashville for as long as I can remember and im like 23. Thank you for such great content! :)
We always called the At&t building the Batman Building. So glad you caught a glimpse of it from the plane! Hope you enjoyed your trip to Tennessee! Come back anytime!
OOOOh yeah. Nashville is only 3 hrs away from us, so we visit every few months. We don't do country, but they do rock n roll better than most cities. Most years, half of our concerts are in Nashville. I love Broadway. Kudos bro.
Thanks for the ***NEW****. I didn't know you were back. Now I've gotta go back and watch last week's video. Were those 3 Atari programmers part of the original Activision crew?
Hi Metal Jesus, glad to see you back! Have you ever thought like having a blog or announcement video about upcoming video game expo like this? Currently I live in US and I really want to visit some of the expo. It would be very great if you do that!
Thanks, MJR! This is just a great series, to see nice video games and simultaneously the places I want to go , when going to US. Also, I really hope you are all right again, as you mentioned health issues lately. All the best and have a nice Christmas time. Greets from Europe ;-)
I live in the Nashville area and I'm so glad McKays got a spotlight! I love the McKays in Chattanooga even more, but I can spend hours in any of the few locations. Hate that I missed you at the Expo, but hopefully I'll either be able to travel or you might make it back down here. 🤘
so glad you visited my city, this place has a huge culture of food and music, great retro gaming stores here too! mckays and both game trader stores are fantastic
Glad to see you made it to the Game Trader in Rivergate. Incidentally, I didn't know the guy @5:45 still worked there! I wish the end of town its on was as booming as it was in the 80s and 90s, but with the mall circling the drain and everything south of it going...well, south...I worry that all the outbuildings and strips that exploded around the mall (like Game Trader) will eventually wither on the vine. You're right, McKay's is overwhelming, *especially* if you go there on the weekend when it's absolutely packed. I've never been super enthusiastic about the retro collection there.
Ive been going to McKays for years and years and it seems like theyre really moving away from the retro games. It used to be huge sections with shelves full and now its just a couple glass cases. Generally overpriced too
If you want to take a risk on buying a scratched disc, local libraries often have a disc polisher and will run your personal disc through it for free. Used CD/DVD shops also have them and charge only a nominal fee to run it for you to see if it will fix any playback issues.
Awesome video! We did some Pizza Reviews in Nashville. One of the most fun places we have been. Also, the Bonuts at Biscut Love were worth waiting in the long line for! Happy you were able to experience them.
3:59 McKay's doesn't disappoint! Only one I've been to is in Greensboro, NC on Battleground Ave. Not as big as Nashville but tons of choices. Its Heaven
Hi Metal Jesus Rocks, I heard about your site by a very old and dear friend, a Rocker, like yourself, who insisted that you are the one to watch. And he is RIGHT!!! Tonight is Friday 16 Dec 2022 and I am sitting in my tiny little den, in South East England watching your trip (on TH-cam) to Nashville, Tennessee, USA. A most enjoyable viewing. The shot you have taken of Mount Rainer, was a lovely sight and an unknown site to myself. Well done! Seeing you in Music City Multi Con, in Nashville and visiting the local gaming stores and eating places, were great choices! What I liked about this video, is that you show (in Lebanon) the different ages, sexes and people of colour, all under one roof, playing videos games, which to my mind is refreshing. Also, the content in which you presented in your show was very informative, particularly to someone like myself, a Brit, who is very interested in Americano pop culture, and tries to keep his hand in the videos games world. Well done to you for that! Also, because I have enjoyed your videos, I have subscribed to your site. Which is something I do not do! If you continue to go on trips and inform in the way you and your wife do, then I am there and I may be forced to spread the good word. Keep up the good work, mate.
Lived in Middle Tennessee my whole life. Game trader is an awesome store as well as McKays. The big Nashville Flea Market at the Fairgrounds is always a great place to find games. Also The Great Escape has some retro goodness. Cool video!
AHHH! I have been trying to find the Faces of Death collection on VHS for years. Another great B roll video man, I love watching these when you put them out.
dude, music row is where all the music labels are along Music Square. where you were was at the honkey tonks along Broadway. great to see you came to visit though! (YES, I live there)
I'm working on getting a video game convention setup here in Fort Smith, Arkansas. I hope I'll be lucky enough to have people like Metal Jesus visit it
Great stuff man! Glad you dug McKay's, it's probably my favorite store here. There is another place you need to check out called The Great Escape the next time you visit. Also, hilariously accurate about the overwhelming drunk crowd on music row.
So great you are well and back... loved the pickups and the event. That Circus Convoy is amazing 🙂 Also nice to see you are a fan of Time Pilot... I fell in love with that game last time I went to Arcade Club in the UK.
@@MetalJesusRocks yes me as well.. The game Yoshiki Okamoto got fired over at Konami, as he was supposed to be making a driving game LOL ... still I think based on all his work he went on to do at Capcom... he did pretty well for himself :P The Konami Time Pilot on XBLA is pretty good... the art is touched up slightly if set (can switch off) and its a great way to play at home. I am chuffed for me as bought the Arcade 1UP Atari Couchcade in the sale... So great to have my fav arcade games like Centipede, Tempest and Crystal Castle on a trackball and spinner in the home finally. 🙂
I have a lot of free play to do on Time Pilot and more particularly TP84 to get to $1 per hour of enjoyment. I put a lot of paper-route earned quarters into those machines.
Jason, I’m very familiar with Nashville. I went to Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro TN from 1995-1998 and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Production/Sound Engineering/Music Business. Yes a born and bred New Yorker went to college in the south to get a music production degree (reason being was one of the few places that could learn audio production without having to be a musician.) Nashville is a great city. I had visited it many times went to about a dozen concerts….would love to revisit it someday. Haven’t been there in about 25 YEARS!? Shit….now I realize I am getting old. The city has definitely changed since I was there. I would love to go back & spend time visiting it.
That was to see Retro Wolf in the crowd of people attending your panel. I hope you got to meet and have a conversation with him. He is down to earth like you and is very underrated on TH-cam
I'm so jealous. My wife and I lived in Nashville for two years during the pandemic so we couldn't go anywhere. You saw more of Nashville than we did lol. We lived two miles from McKay though. We were there every week.
While I'm excited to see my "hometown" represented in both yours and John Riggs videos, I personally feel Nashville itself is overrated. I couldn't help but crack up when you acknowledged the fact that the event is considered Nashville, but its 30 minutes outside of Nashville. The event was originally closer, but eventually moved further away. Regardless, no matter where you are, if you live within a 30-45 minute radius of Nashville, you theoretically "live" in Nashville. If you were to ever visit again, there's an antique store about 5 minutes away from this convention that has an amazing vinyl collection, but also sells retro games, comics and toys. Also, right up the road from the Game Trader you went to is a place called Great Escape, they specialize in everything from vinyl, comic books, retro games, movies, and so much more. With that being said, I'm glad I had the chance to meet you, and I hope you truly enjoyed your visit to Nashville.
Glad you had a great time in Nashville. If you ever visit any other part of the state, you'll find a McKay's in Knoxville, Chattanooga and Clarksville.
Welcome to Nashville. McKays has been my home for YEARS. That scratched section has been a weekly visit for me… Did you check The Great Escape pc games?! Glad you enjoyed your time!
Welcome back to new videos! Looks like it was an awesome trip! Knowing you also like cars a bit, I gotta recommend that if you ever get out towards the east end of Tennessee/western North Carolina, you gotta hit up US Rt 129, the "Tail of the Dragon," and some of the roads surrounding it. It was such a blast when I got to drive those roads, and I've dreamed about going back again. It was the best part about my road trip to Tennessee several years ago.
Oh really?! Thanks for the tips! I am considering taking my new GTI on a big USA road trip next year actually. Really get it on those open roads and let'er rip! 👍
@MetalJesusRocks yeah, man! Tail of the Dragon is 318 curves in an 11 mile stretch. Super windy, tight curves, switchbacks, and beautiful forest area. It's the most fun I ever had behind the wheel of my own GTI.
Only got to spend a week there when my sister was in school at the Art Institute down there. Such a fun city, even if you're not a country music fan. I've been wanting to get back down there.

Great to see you back! Thank you for inspiring so many to preserve and enjoy such an awesome hobby!
Nashville is a beautiful city! The culture and the people in Nashville are great!
The legend is back! Rock on! 😎🤟
I know what I’m watching when I get home from work later. Can’t wait for another great MJR video!
I am so glad that you came to Nashville and checked out some of the areas where I get a lot of my games. Hope y'all come back in the near furture.
The size of that store... love it and love to see Jason doing new videos
Was in Nashville this past spring and fell in love with the city and the people. Can’t wait to go back!
Loved to see the restaurants and food, please share more 🙌🏼
It’s mostly rock bands in Nashville now.
This was my first MJR video and I am impressed. You gained a sub my man.
Thanks so much! 👍
That chicken meal looked amazing! Looks like you had a great trip and got some great games too. Thanks for the video, hope you have good Christmas
Kudos bro.
So glad to see you experienced McKays ... I miss this place
You do such a great job with these, MJR, thanks for another really enjoyable travel/expo video ✌🏻
Another trip well documented, thank you! Will need to go to Nashville some day for sure.
Thanks for the ***NEW****. I didn't know you were back. Now I've gotta go back and watch last week's video.
Were those 3 Atari programmers part of the original Activision crew?
Yep! Those dudes help start Activision and the entire 3rd party dev for the gaming industry. Wild huh? Absolutely Legends.
@@MetalJesusRocks Nice, hopefully you got a signed Pitfall or something else while you were there.
It's awesome you stopped by Nashville! My wife & I live close by, and we got engaged at the Parthenon. ❤️
That's not music row. That's Broadway. Music Row is where all the recording studios and publishers' offices are 16th Ave
Your travel episodes ROCK! I am glad you are well and make videos again!!! Metal Jesus Rocks!
Generally overpriced too
I’m from Nashville! Wish that I had got to meet you. Glad it was a good time!
Just moved from Nashville after living there for 10 years... Mckay's was a nearly weekly trip! So glad you had a good time.
No way awesome! Live close by nice to see you in the area!
Lived in Middle Tennessee my whole life. Game trader is an awesome store as well as McKays. The big Nashville Flea Market at the Fairgrounds is always a great place to find games. Also The Great Escape has some retro goodness. Cool video!
Nashvillian here. Makes me so so happy to see this episode. I have always wondered if you've been to McKays. Awesome video.
Time Pilot is my jam 🤘
@@MetalJesusRocks yes me as well.. The game Yoshiki Okamoto got fired over at Konami, as he was supposed to be making a driving game LOL ... still I think based on all his work he went on to do at Capcom... he did pretty well for himself :P
The Konami Time Pilot on XBLA is pretty good... the art is touched up slightly if set (can switch off) and its a great way to play at home.
I've been to McKay's! Insane how big that place is
100%
Mckay's also has stores in Chattanooga and Knoxville. They're pretty overwhelming at times, but it's a nice place to get some media.
Glad you had a great time in Nashville. If you ever visit any other part of the state, you'll find a McKay's in Knoxville, Chattanooga and Clarksville.
Welcome to Nashville. McKays has been my home for YEARS. That scratched section has been a weekly visit for me…
Did you check The Great Escape pc games?!
