Thanks. You just got me thinking on the right track with your comments about resistance. I'd pulled the blue connector off the back of my clock unit the other day when I took my airbag off to clean the horn switch contacts. All had worked well for two day until today my airbag light was staying on. I'd pulled the connectors off the back of the clock unit and put them back, but had assumed I'd broken the ribbon cable when I'd been working on the horn terminals. Nope. And so I went to my van with the faulty warning light, pulled the blue connector off the back of my clock unit again and squirted the plug with switch cleaning fluid. Plugged back in and out a few times and then finally plugged in. Switched on the ignition and BANG! (just kidding) Switched on the ignition and the warning light came on and then, after a few seconds, went off again. MOT test is tomorrow morning at nine, so phew!
Thank You for this video, saved me a lot of time, and money! I had the same issue on a com2005 delphi module. On that, the unconnected horn wire is on the other side connected to several PCB components. So I cut that signal track on the PCB, to separate that side of the flatcable also! Works perfectly ! :)
Just a little advice if you drive a mk2 megane, if you are tempted to use your height adjustable steering if you have it, don't!!! I've just done it and my airbag light came on?? Oh joy! Incidentally my airbag squib is only 5 months old!
Hi, I have a Citroen C3 first series from 2003 and the airbag warning light is on. When I turn on the car I hear three beeps. Is there a correlation with the type of failure?
@p7_a757 You can check some basics... but it can be a shot in the dark and a waste of time... as you will be working completely blind without scanning it first...
Thank you for another great video! I had "Permanent fault. Driver's module trigger- Level 2. Open circuit", like your problem. When i rotate steering wheel, resistance between pin1 on green/yellow and pin1 of the flat cable varied from 1 Ohm to 100 Ohms. I followed your great instructions, i created jumper between pin1 and pin5 on flat cable (i didn't cut off any of pins) on the one side, and pin3 on gray and pin1 on green connector. My question: On flat cabel, do I need to cut pin1 or pin5, because now i have error "Permanent fault. Level of driver module trigger 1. Short circuit"? Thanx!
I unplugged mine and plugged back in , and it works. If i change the whole column, with the signal stick , basically the hole ansamble , and put a new one, does it need to be coded to the ecu or it will work as long as is the correct part? I mean the car is 2003 and I'm thinking because it's old, it wouldn't. Do i need to code in the new part?
@@LMAutoRepairs yea. My signal switch is flimsy for the high beam. The coil is allright. Was thinking to change the whole thing as is not that expensive, vs just filling with it and only change the stick, and most likely break something else in the process. If I didn't put the coil right, how would i know? I hadn't driven it yet , but guessing i will know as it will snap or something?
